The design of that suit seems to me like it would either provide limited protection or impair flight capabilities so much with its weight that they might as well be an earth pony with talons and a beak. Of course, it could be fitted and made, and it's absolutely plausible.

That zombie griffin from Meatlocker had some.
AH! Thought that's where mah brain was pointing me too. Didn't one of the griffon mercs have a suit as well?
Closest to armor aside from Carrion would probably be Gawd.

In the meantime, they adopted a nice little holdover weapon. Given that that holdover was the M16, we all know how that went.
That was part of it, yes. They were itching to get shiny new assault to compete with the Soviets' shiny new AK's. the Flechette rifle was plan A and the M16 was a holdover. M14 fanboys in the Army's higher echelons outright sabotaged the M16, like supplying outdated ammo that the designer told them not to use, and telling the soldiers that the rifle was self-cleaning and didn't even give them cleaning kits at all. Once those issues were sorted out, they started improving on it until we got the M16A4, the M4A1, ect ect

Knowing almost nothing about guns, I really like this concept for its artistic merit. I kinda wish this person would draw up some more concepts for other weapons.Katarn wrote:Sorry if I'm late with this, but IIRC, you've discussed pony guns earlier..maybe few pages earlier.
How do you like this concept?

Oh I know I don't mind the story, it's a simple matter of not being qualified for any manner of brushing.Kattlarv wrote:It's fine, just need a quick check up on it. Going

And thanks for the concern, but as said, we've shown worse before xP
And yeah, I really hate needles. But was strangely calm yesterday.
And I can understand that entirely, I can't stand needles either...

Guys I just realized something. There is a real-life pony pun, the firearms company Colt. Can't believe it took me that long to realize that.

I can't sit through a movie now-a-days without making puns, even in the theater. Frost and The Grimm Thinker were about to murder me during the Expendables 2 and Punisher. BUT SUDDENLY, HOMICIDE.

I hope you mean making puns because trying to murder people in public isn't good for one's social status. X)

I flipped him a bird in the middle of the theater. Good times were had by all.
Random thought: as cliched as the whole rape thing is in FoE, and as almost cartoonishly evil as some villains can be, at least you know who you're rooting for.
Reminds me of the time I went and saw Avatar. I spent every minute of it anticipating when Colonel Badass was going to get in that mech and tear up some self-righteous blue hippies

@Swicked
Damn, between this and the new Bond (which I heard was very, very good), I'm gonna need to figure out a way to get to a theater soon... 'nother film recommendation from me: Headhunters (or, originally, "Hodejegerne")! It's a darkly comic Norwegian thriller that has Jaime Lannister in it. And, better yet, it's on Netflix. It's a bit gory (well, it's not often gory, but when it is, it can be very much so) and it's got some naked folks and sex in it - be forewarned if those things trigger badness for you. I enjoyed it, though; it's silly when appropriate, and extremely intense quite often. It's also cleverer than I initially believed it to be, which is always nice. If you've got a spare hour or two, try it out and see if you like it! :)

His fight at the end was the only part of the movie I at all liked.
I still hated the movie in general, though.
Ditto. James Cameron said that he waited ten years so that the technology could catch up with his vision. He's admitting that the story itself is shit, and that the film's main draw was that it was sparkly and pretty.

If you don't care for guns or weapons in general stay away from The Expendables 1-2. Most of it is fully-automatic manliness and knife fights. I once saw this film that was completely spoken in Viking horn-head Neighwegian, called Troll Hunter. I've heard of trolling but that was ridiculous.

This is also a good movie; though if you go in expecting horror, you will be disappointed. It's a satire of Norwegian society (and bureaucracy) more than anything else IMO. Also, admittedly I am biased towards it because it introduced me to Kvelertak...Ironmonger wrote:If you don't care for guns or weapons in general stay away from The Expendables 1-2. Wasn't a bad movie and it made me want to learn Neighwegian (awesome pony pun ). And the trolls actually looked intimidating.

Hmmm. Idea: perfect world Pandoran smurfy-cats vs sparklepires. Who wins?
Also, I find it extremely amusing that Pandora is both in Avatar and Borderlands. I tend to have a silly idea that Handsome Jack wrecked the planet. Any thoughts?

I hadn't see. That before, but I certainly have heard the Pocahontas comparisons.
Meanwhile, no one ever points out that those magical hair-braid USB cables are used in mating as well as taming the beasts.

I think YouTube may be down, at least for me - getting 500 Internal Server Errors on this and other videos.swicked wrote:Oh, no, I'd long since made that connection, especially since the animals attempt to fight back to resist it. EDIT: It's working now. Funny video; Harry Partridge makes good 'uns.

Man what was it about the turn of the century for producing politicians with such amazing put downs?Kippershy wrote:Valikdu wrote:Kippershy wrote:You are evil and I am drunk after a wonderful night out.
"...but I will be sober in the morning, and you will still be evil".
Churchill.
Fuckin' love you for that quote reference.
"I hate nobody except Hitler - and that is professional."
On Liberal and Conservative statesman Joseph Chamberlain (no relation to me!): "Mr Chamberlain loves the working man; he loves to see him work."
On Conservative politician and Prime Minister 1902-06 Arthur Balfour: "If you wanted nothing done, Arthur Balfour was the best man for the task. There was no equal to him."
On another Conservative Prime Minister, Stanley Baldwin: "He occasionally stumbled over the truth, but hastily picked himself up and hurried on as if nothing had happened."
"He is a modest man who has a good deal to be modest about."
On the deeply religious, teetotal, austere and clean living socialist Chancellor of the Exchequer,Stafford Cripps, after being told of Cripps's decision to give up smoking: "Too bad - that was his last contact with humanity." and on another occasion: "He has all the virtues I dislike and none of the vices I admire."
And my personal favorite
Lady Astor to Churchill: “Winston, if you were my husband I would flavour your coffee with poison”
Churchill: “Madam, if I were your husband, I should drink it.”

Re: [GRIMDARK] Fallout Equestria: Project Horizons Discussion
Colonel Badass was the only likeable character in that movie, with the possible exception of sexy helicopter pilot lady.
Anyways I was playing the Walking Dead game episode 3, and we found the train, and the guys decided we needed to ride this train into Savannah, and despite how stupid the idea was, I was like OHINDS APOCALYPSE BATTLE TRAIN GO. Then when we turned on the engine but the train wouldn't move, so I went to look at the back of the train which had fallen off the rails, and the character looked at it and just said 'Derailed...' and I was like Damn it Kipper, there goes my battle train. But we fixed it so I was happy.

You know, despite that knowing the tails were used for mating and blah blah blah, I never thought too deeply about the implication of the Na'vi connection to animals.
Now I feel dirty and sick inside from the thought of it.

Avatar was a fucking terrible movie but it looked gorgeous.
Now, take some of Avatar's "plot" and adapt it to a FoE story pre-bombs about the a pony community built on show-style utopia forced to adapt to the New Government and you've got an interesting story.
Also the best action movie always and forever is Commando.

@Avatar
I liked the action scenes for the most part, and it looked really nice, but the plot was really lacking. My father saw absolutely nothing in it because he can't see green like most people, being colorblind.
Oh, and yes, the tail thing is quite fucked up.
