Re: [GRIMDARK] Fallout Equestria: Project Horizons Discussion
Well Kipper is a nuclear weapon, we have only seen his full force unleashed a few times, but the threat of a Kipper derail hangs above us all.
Edit: also I believe the record for concurrent topics stands at an imposing six, during the great O Hinds train and canon discussions that lasted through many pages.

Like an anvil-money-trap and a rich person.

No, Ironmonger. Not like that at all. The whole point of the analogy is that the threat is great, but seldom carried out. You can't walk down the street without an anvil crushing a rich guy.

Well. Perhaps there is something...
Perhaps operative light hooves is the harbingers' prophet?
He wants to use the raider virus as a means of forcing Pegasus under control of one thought... rather a brainless bunch of followers something like that... harbringers fit that

Re: [GRIMDARK] Fallout Equestria: Project Horizons Discussion
I'm mostly going to hang back on this one and let you lot talk it out, I'm not much good for these type of topics. I'm somewhat on-board with the idea of Dawn being the prophet of the Harbingers, she has that beautiful hawt messenger thing going for her.
EDIT: Time to put that "juggle two topics" idea to the test. I've been considering making a compilation post of weapons that could be seen in FoE due to their simplicity and/or reliability among other useful features. One such weapon, a personal favorite of mine, is the Vickers Machine Gun. A heavy but reliable weapon, the Vickers has been reported to fire one million rounds over the course of 12 hours with no malfunctions, the crews kept 100 spare barrels for the duration. Weaponry like that will stand the test of time.

A friend's bar had a pumpkin carving contest and I was SO MAD that there wasn't a rule for NO STENCIL FREE CARVE ONLY. I was ready to vomit with rage.

The only use I see for pumpkins is to launch them at unbelievers then feast on their souls. Inscribe them with things like "You can't art!" and "You look horrible in that outfit!".

I'd carve a pumpkin that said "Go to heil". I'm not sure if it would face its problems because of the pun or because of the rudeness.
EDIT: Right now I'd love to drop one of those 1,000-pound pumpkins you hear about with the word "WHORE" or "BASS on someone. If the victim is gay then it becomes "Homocide"

If you feel like you won't win the hypothetical contest, just visit the building with a bunch of thermite.

Damn string / iron, thanks. I needed that laugh after last night and still waking up worried this morning.
Long story short, I've been trying my absolute best to prevent a suicide last night and I failed.
Then the lass came back after a while because she was about to say goodbye elsewhere and saw something that infuriated her, so I ended up playing the role of the guy who has to try convince her not to either kill herself or drain out enough blood that she passes out...
and again, I failed, despite my best efforts to convince her not to do so.
So yeah.
I needed that.
edit: also, seeing as I seem to have grabbed Adders spot, if you want to write up the 10 page summary I could post it or qote you on it dude?
(Seeing as he was asleep at the time.)

Re: [GRIMDARK] Fallout Equestria: Project Horizons Discussion
The painful thing for me is the fact that when I last tried, which was when I tried the hardest and did everything I could to make sure I succeeded and all that - I turned to others for help.
I asked for help in the critical moment and got told to fuck off because they weren't willing.
I felt all alone and that was what pushed me over the edge.
Now I see someone else in that situation and I tried to do my best. I tried so damn hard to constantly let her know I was there for her, I wouldn't leave her, that I care for her, that she means a lot to me, that her now ex boyfriend isn't all she can be and her life can go on.
Instead, all my efforts served to do was to prolong it for just a little while. If it wasn't for her going to say goodbye elsewhere, I don't know for sure but I really don't think she'd be around any more.
Which means I failed.
She may be alive right now, but I failed.
All I needed was to convince her to wait another day... tomorrow.
Tomorrow is all you need, because tomorrow never comes.
Yet my efforts failed.

Not sure how it works in Britain but...redacted after new post. Ahhhhmmm that is something no one should have to go through. Kipper you can't hold yourself responsible for the decision of another. You can't take the blame for it. You did more for her than what some weren't willing to do for you.

New topic. Made a mental rule for cooking after seeing all these weird-ass ingredients, namely vegetables, at the store; If you don't know what it is, leave it alone (If ye don't know, leave it so). Also if there are any chefs here, what are good ingredients for vegetable soup with cubed beef?

Re: [GRIMDARK] Fallout Equestria: Project Horizons Discussion
The end result, if I'm reading this right, is that she's not dead. And if she's not dead, things can get better. Maybe you really didn't have an effect here. Maybe your words were a vital part of her staying alive, if not an immediate or obvious one, because you made her start thinking or just served as a reminder she wasn't all alone. Maybe neither, maybe somewhere in between. Does it matter whose fault it is or who gets to be the hero?Kippershy wrote:The painful thing for me is the fact that when I last tried, which was when I tried the hardest and did everything I could to make sure I succeeded and all that - I turned to others for help.

@Admiral Thanks, we have all the ingredients, I just suddenly got curious about other stuff that could be added. Some of our cooking is "Put basic stuff together and hope it doesn't explode" ordeal. My parents once tried to make homemade V8 juice...that ended horribly. *shudders*
