Re: [GRIMDARK] Fallout Equestria: Project Horizons Discussion
The Fluttershy discussion steamed from the idea of using brainwashed clone soldiers from Mister Frosts Rape factories (TM) and because of how far past the moral event Horizon this was Fluttershy would quit thus we must kill Fluttershy first. But exactly how hard is it to kill Fluttershy and ensure the Zebras get the blame? And further what would her friends do if Zebra assassins killed Fluttershy. And if Twilight did react as some predicted could she use the Black Book to resurrect Fluttershy or would the book simply convince her that such a thing might be possible with sufficient research.OneMoreDaySK wrote:Sheesh Sandy took out my internet for most of the day.
What're we talking 'bout again? I'm lost.
Lesse, from what I see there's:
A whatif discussion on Fluttershy's supposed death by assassins.
Some music discussion
Some art discussion
Ironmonger posting a great deal of pictures.
Kim posting.
That it?

I can't remember, did Celestia ever tell Twilight not to mess with the book, or was this only between Rarity and Celestia? 'cuz if Celestia says not to use the book, methinks Twilight respects her enough not to do so, thus forcing Rarity to try it out.

The only high speed memory dump we've ever seen is a direct mind-to-mind spell that requires a living, active mind behind it (the un-discording spell). Well, that and the Crusader Supercomputer Mind Scanner, but we have even less information about how that works than we do about Twilight's memory-burst spell.Sindri wrote:Spend a few days running the clone through the equivalent of twenty years of life. They experience the same input that the template soldier did, over the same subjective period, and learn the same things from it. Then they come out and yes their body isn't properly adapted to use their "experience" but a few months of physical therapy fixes that up. The training would be suboptimal because it wasn't tailored to the individual's learning speed and talents, but you'd get a lot of bodies on the field rapidly.
And again, I disagree that they would gain experience from that process; more likely you would not come out with a brain that knows how to be a soldier (even in a rudimentary way), but rather one that has been trained through long (subjective) experience to be passive. A brain that has never known agency -- one that doesn't recognize that it has control over the world around it. It spent twenty subjective years being able to only see and experience, but not to do. How broken would it be by that time?
WRONG:!
The unicorn from ten pony was able to do little pips memory orbs at a memory dump pace. Basically doing 7 orbs worth of memories quite rapidly for the members of the twilight society. So other eis a rapid memory dump spell for memory orbs in kkats canon... I win because I am on tpic

Along similar lines, What if Operation Overlord had failed? Or Operation Market-Garden succeeded? Thankfully, I suppose, we'll never find out.Icy Shake wrote:
Anyway, this is pretty off-topic and may have been posted while I was away, but I found this salute to the Soviet fighters at Stalingrad to be very moving, and it will perhaps be of interest to the historically inclined.
That article also mentions the Soviet workforce that was one of the Red Army's real strengths, which you don't see mentioned often enough in these sorts of articles.
Well, regarding Overlord, I'd say that it would mostly mean a stronger focus on the Italian front and the invasion of southern France, and probably a larger Eastern Bloc. Market Garden succeeding would likely have meant a much smaller Eastern Bloc. At those points, I think that you would mostly be looking at the character of victory, not whether victory would occur (defining "victory" up so that it doesn't include nuking Europe into the dark ages). Oil fields really were one of the vital strategic concerns, and denying the Axis fuel was probably key to the Allies' success. Obviously, of course, the success of Overlord was crucial to the millions of western Europeans who otherwise would have spent half a century as subjects to Soviet satellite states, and thus to--among other things--Germany's healing following the war and the establishment of the European Community. Somehow I don't exactly remember an East German Adenauer, or even a Schmidt or Kohl.

Besides trying to invalidate an argument over a small typo which does not detract from the poster's meaning really really detracts from the topic at hand.
Stop derailing threads string theory. I mean iron does it all too often...
Thanks iron now we must get others on the train. Also why are y'all talking about killing flutter shy. She is a tree... did someone cut her down before pip found her ? How did they get past the killing joke? Why don't we use blanks as soul jars?

My theory is I get away with the derailing because it's actually amusing sometimes. One of these days I'm going to do something that causes you all to derail the thread yourselves, and I will gorge myself on all of your rage.

Lifebloom watched all the orbs at normal (one-to-one) speed, then erased his memories of #8 (because squick) and used Twilight's high-speed memory dump spell to share his memories of the orbs with all the other members of the TwiSci. They didn't watch the orbs at high speed; they did exactly what I said above and used a direct mind-to-mind contact spell that requires an active caster. But they also didn't view the orbs directly, they watched LB's memories of his viewing of the orb (and I have no idea if that's a fully accurate reproduction or suffers from some degree of memory degradation).
In fact we don't even know if the memdump spell gives the same full-sensory experience or produces a lesser effect. Certainly we can't say whether or not it would be viable to use for clone flash-learning; but even if it was, it'd require an active caster interacting with every individual trooper, which makes it problematic as a mass-creation method.

Just ignore all the parts that have happened in between and read what's going on now when you have the chance to do so. I doubt that anyone will persecute you for not having memorized the events of two weeks ago, and even I've had to skip a dozen pages on multiple occasions to keep up.Kattlarv wrote:Bitchfist I've come so far behind on these.
It also helps if you look at the tops of pages 11, 21, and 31, because the good Captain puts up summaries of forum activity.
King Sombra, IIRC, but yeah, pretty much."King Somber"
Sounds like you need a new group... unfortunately I am a long way away. Are there any gaming cons in your vicinity in the near future where you might pick up some different players? I've always preferred to play nice as a general rule, with only a few evil characters, well done infightings and intrigues, and more than one occasion when I just had to leave a RPG group and assemble a new one because I just wasn't having fun when everyone played like an asshole.I am so bacon in a RPG
Been there. Why do so many of my closest friends have crippling physical and/or emotional problems? Right, because I'm crazy too. And why do I feel compelled to try to help them at the expense of my own highly limited time and wellbeing? Because being halfway decent really sucks sometimes. And would I trade any of them for anything, or stop trying to help? Hell no and I will hurt you if you suggest it. [ow.]On another side note, it'd be nice if people I knew stopped trying to die.
Well that's hardy fair. I mean, slapping a biohazard label on it is reasonable, all human remains get that, but they let you keep other parts of your body they cut off, don't they? And I could totally present more threat to the nation with an old umbilical cord than with some jellied ovaries...if you for some reason remove your ovaries, you are not allowed to gell them up and keep them in jars, due to the national threat you can create biological weapons with them.
You can pick a lock to close it just as easily as to open it; if you do it right you're basically acting as if you had the proper key. Heck, I've picked a lock closed. And if it turns out P-21 "locked" the door, I still call bullshit on it. Jam it? Possibly, sure, but not lock, that's just retarded imo. (unless they managed to do it in some way that makes sense)
[For entirely legitimate purposes, I swear. ]
I'd call it an eight. That East German judge is a hack, and he shouldn't even be allowed on the council after the incident in Nigeria.Erumpet wrote:I'd say that rated a seven on the Kim koherency scale of posts. Not bad, certainly a respectable score, and the East German judge did not help matters at all. Personally I think he is racist.

I'm not sure time lords can get drunk... I mean their bodies synthesize antidotes with all the proper ingested ingredients right on the spot.... so conversion of alcohol to sugar is not likely a problem. Then again they are deathly allergic to aspirin... so weird biology.
