Actually, if my guess is right, the pic you're referring to was from the mod of dirtyduckdraw, not Herny (Luna Afterdark's mod).RoboRed wrote:Now that you mention it, I recall seeing a very saucy Luna in what looked like that artist's style pop up on the front page of derpibooru the other day. Got myself a wireless dongle instead. They didn't stock any of the things I needed. Get to test it out tonight.

Re: [Official!] Project Horizons Comment Crew Chat thread.
I had a terrifying nightmare.
- long thing a lot of you don't wanna read. Also bear warning for Frost:
- So the dream starts of with me and two other friends. We all for some reason decide to get wild animals as pets. A Lion, a tiger and a bear. They for some other reason that goes unexplained have this fantastic idea to take all the pets into the mountains where they almost immediately learn that the dog harneses they bought weren't meant for animals of these sizes and instantly get mauled to death.
Now I for some reason see this through my TV, but it's not on the news. It's just come to me somehow.
I make the desicion to gather up my guns and go to the mountains where I plan to take care pof the animals before anyone else gets hurt.
Needless to say things don't go as planned. I only have enough ammo to take out the Lion and the Tiger. The bear starts to hunt me, and I have to assume I was seriously injured because I can't move very fast and for the most part any attempt to climb on top of thins results in my death.
The nightmare continues with me running and hiding with very little sucess. Though I do eventually score a small victory when I find this steel door in an icewall, I can't get inside but I just barely scramble a top the ledge. When the bear tries to climb after me I stabbed my thumbs into his eyes and gouged them out.
Now I say small sucess because that didn't seem to help much. I had to get off this ledge, the only way to escape was to run past the bear and into what looked like a man made tunnel (There were dead lights strung up and the walls were lined with what looked like rubber for some reason) and when I did just that I have to assume I was incapable of moving quietly either due to panic or my injuries. Whichever it was the bear used it's hearing to stay right on me.
Shortly after I scored another small victory. I found a facility and quickly made my way inside the entrance was guarded by lazers as they always are. Swiftly for the first time since the dream began I made my way around the moving ones. There was a wall of lazers blocking the last door into the actual facility but I found a conveniantly placed piece of furniture to push in front of them to give me just enough room to squeeze past. Without wasting time I pulled the piece to the other side with me and burst through the door. Without a moment to waste it seemed as an iron shutter dropped down inf front of the door. I assumed the bear had triggered security.
Still I snuck around the facility so the bear must have found some other way in. I stumbled across this pod (It looked exactly like one of those suit ones from deadspace.) looking for a place to hide I happily scurried in. It promptly ripped out my eye and jammed a ring on my finger. The eye it took was replaced with a synthetic one, the pain was worth it as I now could track the bear through walls. And the ring was supposed to be for lighting cigarettes and levitating small objects, It's inventor must not have been happy with that because the next time I saw the bear I used the ring to lift it off the ground, set fire to it and throw it against the wall.
None of that seemed to do any damage to the bear and the ring didn't have infinite energy it needed time to recharge, but having someway to defend myself was a huge boost. One that didn't last. AS I made my way deeper into the facility I found that the doors must not have been opened in a decently long time. It took upwards of ten minutes for them to open and I needed both the ring and the eye just to keep the bear at bay.
I seemed like everything was coming to an end when I found ammunition and one of my friend that I presumed dead still alive hiding in the facility.
I activated my eye and found what I thought was the bear. And ogether we st out to end things. He'd hold the gun and I'd hold the bear.
Instead of the bear we found this long blonde haired man. We lowered our guard and my friend was propmtly torn apart. I scrambled for the gun my friend was holding a moment before and unloaded every shot I had. At least I only had the bear to worry about.
The thought just occured as abnormal fingers poked through the seam of a steel door leading into the room. They tore and the large shoulders and head of the man they were attached to moved in. I have no idea how I knew this but without any doubt this was the bear. He must have squeezed his way into a pod and they broke his bones and shaved him until he was roughly the shape of a man. (For those wondering he looked like that guy from MIB. The one that the cockroach alien stole his skin. After the skin was stolen of course.) While the process took his fangs (I thought) and claws it replaced one of his arms with a chainsaw.
Which was in my gut before I could react. The human head folded back revealing the bear head which promptly slammed don on my skull killing me.

Though I bet as far as Frost is concerned, it's an opportunity for rage, retribution, and 'Murica. (if that made any sense at all...it's still too early for deep thoughts)

I've just discovered something called "The Big World Project".
It's a program that will automatically download and install a variable (from "some" to "OMFG so many mods!") amount of mods onto your Baldur's Gate games, *including Enhanced Edition*. It can also merge non-EE installations into a Trilogy install, apparently.

..Ugh. Turns out that Ascension (and Redemption, and Longer Road) are just not compatible with EE.
Well, I'll just use BiG World to make a better Trilogy, then.

Anyone care to recommend me a smartphone? I'll probably swing more towards android because fuck Apple and Microsoft. The Galaxy S5 looks amazing hardware wise (water resistant? fuck yeah!) but I've heard it's weighed down by a lot of un-removable crapware. The Nexus 5 also looks good since its just raw android but the phone itself seems average. Any other recommendations?

Samsung Galaxy S4 isn't bad, though you'll wish the battery had a better battery autonomy (surfing the web or playing with it sucks your battery kinda quickly, from 100 to 0% in roughly 5-7 hours under constant use). Still more than enough to go through a whole day and then some if you know how to manage your phone usage.
The Sony Xperia Z1 is better in that regard, and has better hardware specs in general, but it is something like €150-200 more expensive IIRC. Also, I doubt it is pure android.
Can't speak about more the most recent generation of hardware, sadly.

Re: [Official!] Project Horizons Comment Crew Chat thread.
Nexus 5 is pretty nice, does not have removable storage though which is a deal breaker for me.
However the nexus 5 gets updates first and most often due to it being Google's baby.
If I were to recommend a flagship it would have to be the HTC One M8. It has removable storage, the UI doesn't look like a children's experiment (Galaxy S5), it is on par for performance to the S5 (as well as similarly priced), gets updates a little more often than the S5, and you get to call it the M8 (mate)!
Nexus 5 if you want cheaper and don't care about removable storage
HTC One M8 if you want high end flagship.
Note I have heard the M8 is "slippery" and a case would probably be necessary.

Anyway, just wanted to get people's opinion:
In civilization 5, how would a civilization be, which unique ability would be "every land tile yields +1 food (mountains included)".

- Spoiler:
- Thinking on that idea I had of modding in the FoE setting. The above civ would be the New Canterlot Republic. The background behind that UA would be how the combination of the Single Pegasus Project and the NCR's agricultural policies, sustained by heavy amount of earth pony magic, contribute to giving it impressive agricultural yields.

The background behind that UA would be how the combination of the Single Pegasus Project and the NCR's agricultural policies, sustained by heavy amount of earth pony magic, contribute to giving it impressive agricultural yields.
Depends, are we talking all land tiles? Including like barren and desert?
If so, that could be extremely powerful early game. Now I'm not sure if it would be overpowered, that would need to be tested.

I love my Galaxy S5.
I've heard some good things about the HTC One M8. I probably would have gotten that were it not for bad experiences with two previous HTC phones (I <3 memory leaks and crashing). But maybe they've stepped up their game by now. *shrug*
I think it just looks like a more colorful version of the standard Android UI.

It's an opinion. I just think it looks cheap and I personally don't like it. It is a lot better in more recent iterations. I just know 4.2 looked absolutely terrible.

Also you may want to do research into repairability of your phone. After that first year is up it is up to you or a local shop to repair that thing.
I know with my S3 most of the things were easily repaired and a month ago I had to replace its headphone jack and external speaker (its one part on the S3) and it was incredibly easy. That is assuming that you would DIY and save money (or if there isn't a repair place within a reasonable distance) .
Edit: Use this: https://www.ifixit.com/Device/Phone
Nexus 5: Pretty Easy to DIY
Galaxy S5: Ehh, could be better anything but the battery requires the removal of the screen
HTC One M8: Jesus fucking Christ. Get a professional.

Each and everyone of them. Though I'm thinking about excluding mountains: I think they should retain their current "uselesness", outside of being geographical obstacles.iLateralGX wrote:Harmony Ltd. wrote:Anyway, just wanted to get people's opinion:

Yeah I think that would be better, including them would be absolute overkill considering it seems that they are going to have the ability to grow crops on snow and ice.

Re modding Civ 5, here's what I've come up with thus far (after a little hour of balls head scratching):
Also, I wasn't counting ice as a land tile. Snow, on the other hand, you're right.
- Spoiler:
- New Canterlot Republic:
(manpower)
UA: "Feed the World": All land tiles yield +1 food (except mountains)
UU: Conscript (replace Infantry). Combat power: 60 (infantry: 70). Movement: 2 (infantry: 2) Cost 75% of the cost of normal infantry to produce.
UB: Biofuel refinery: converts 8 food into 2 oil
Elusive Company:
(money)
UA: "Economic warfare": +50% trade routes. Donations to city-states yield 25% better results.
UU: Robotic worker (unlocked with Robotics). Cost twice as much as a normal worker to produce. New worker type, requires 50% less maintenance, builds tile enhancements 2x faster.
UB: Shopping Mall. +2 happiness and gold.
Miliozi:
(elite training)
UA: "Elite training": Units gain experience 25% faster, and get +15 free experience when produced.
UU: Mechanized Legion [latin translation?] (replaces Mechanized Infantry). Combat power: 100 (mechanized infantry: 90). Movement: 3 (mechanized infantry: 3). Same construction cost as Mechanized Infantry.
UB: Military academy (unlocked with University, replaces Public School). +3 science, +15 Exp to all units built in the city.
Grand Pegasus Enclave
(airpower)
UA: "Air superiority": Air units are built 50% faster, and have 50% more range.
UU: Pegasi Squad (replaces Paratrooper). Combat power: 75 (paratrooper: 65). Movement: 3 (paratrooper: 2). Basic range: 5 (paratrooper: 9). Same construction cost as Paratrooper. Can move /and/ attack in the same turn after being dropped. GPE unique ability give it 8 range in practice (5 + 2,5 rounded up).
UB: Skyport. Same as airport, but air unit capacity is increased from 6 to 14 (instead of 10 with a normal airport).
Noble Republic of Geneighva
(dwarf fortress)
UA: "Noble Houses": +1 happiness, gold and culture every 2 specialists in a city
UB1: Stable (replaces Bomb Shelter). 20% more expensive to build than normal bomb shelter. Same effects as Bomb Shelter, +2 food and production.
UB2: Rejuvenation clinic (replaces Medical Laboratory). Same effect as Medical Laboratory, +2 happiness.
Also, I wasn't counting ice as a land tile. Snow, on the other hand, you're right.

Also planning to mod in new generic units and buildings, replace/add some techs, and maybe change terrain generation a bit (gems are going to be an exploitable resource to build a number of units and building).
That is if I ever get around modding at all. Still, I like to do some game design. And who knows? Some people may like the idea and do the actual work!
