Once the GPE get planes its basically over it looks like, that much air support will absolutely destroy people.

Not complaining though, planes are my favorite thing in the game. :P

Well, maybe the Skyport could be nerfed to 12 instead of 14? Or dropped altogether, maybe. Given how powerful the UA is, the GPE could probably do with no UB and only one UU. Thought?

One of the generic units I'm thinking about is a "laser AA", requiring 1 gem to be built, and automaticaly shooting on all air units attacking in a 2 tiles radius, as many times per turn as there is an air unit attacking.

Gems are going to be precious.

I think a modification of a gameplay element I'd like to do would be for AA units to be able to defend more than once per turn against air units attacking. Because damn does it make the end game one sided otherwise:

Most of my civ 5 games thus far see mee spamming as many furtive bombers as I have aluminum (which end up being a lot), which in the end have so much experience they can attack twice per turn and get repaired even after having attacked. That's a ridiculous steamroller skewing the whole game (my only land units at this points are down to a few mechanized infantry or giant death robots).

So I think that'd be a necessary rebalance. Though then the combat power & radius of AA land units may need to be nerfed somewhat so that air units don't become impossible to use.

But being able to take the non martyr path doesn't matter all that much if you take the martyr path. Besides Tiki claims to be the voice of Naga. I find it hard to believe that if the Fire emblem had been taken and Tiki still lived we wouldn't have been able to get the information.

Well, I know some which I've tried before: there's Ascension, which was made by David Gaider himself and makes the boss fights in Throne of Bhaal much harder (and more epic, especially the final one). It's supposedly the intended version of those fights, which didn't get made in time for the release. Redemption and Turnabout are upgrades to it, which also alter the final battle. And Longer Road is another upgrade, which allows you to

If anyone read about Imoen and thought about a romance mod... of course that exists too, you deviant. But it never got finished.

Otherwise, there's a great multitude of fixes, tweaks, additional characters & quests, improvements to the AI and so on. The LP at LParchive endorses the "tactics" mod.

Keep the Skyport how it is. Instead of taking away the UU add a naval UU and a ground UU that are slightly less effective than their standard counterpart. This way going toe to toe with a GPE plane is never a good idea but messing with their armor or naval units can really disrupt them. The naval and armor selected to replace would have to be around the same effectiveness (if they were unmodified) as paratroopers in standard play so it's properly balanced.

This would make the faction not only that much more unique but would require a slightly different play style to use.

Of course this is all ideas and I have no idea if that would even work in actual play.

It should be noted though that all air units in the vanilla game require resources to be built. So this is another, indirect way to limit the effectiveness of the UU/Skyport combo: all it would allow in effect would be to be able to concentrate airpower in a single point, when range constraints would otherwise limit the number of air units you could use against a given target.

But yes, ground and naval units should probably get a malus. A flat -10% to combat power? Though to compensate I think the GPE should get early air units, from the middle age onward, with very limited range (enhanced range shouldn't go over 5 tiles).

It would make the GPE really good in defensive wars during that period, but lacking the punch to be really good in offensive campaigns, at least until they get their other Unique Unit, the Pegasi Squad.

Though this would be starting to stack the balance in favor of the GPE. So maybe these air units should actually be generic units, requiring a resource to be built: pegasi.

Though now there's the question of how you get that resource...

10% seems fair but may make early game difficult if it is all ground units. Maybe all industrial age onwards ground and naval units? These are all just numbers right now though, actual testing would need to be done to see if these concepts work well in play.

I think early air units is also something that sounds good, low power and cant take cities. Sure as hell cause chaos though.

The "Pegasi" resource could just be the horse resource. Of course this would mean not finding horses would be the end of you and if everybody wises up and refuses to trade you horses...

I have no idea how a total conversion would work, I have honestly only have ever seen faction mods and this is looking to be a fair bit more than that. Maybe start with faction mods first to get your feet wet?

That's the question. Was the rabbit created in the wake of the Fall of Man by some unknown force? Or was it, for instance, tasked by Annet or the Biomatrix with re-seeding the world with life (both would benefit more from a living world than the dead shell they have.)? Perhaps it, instead is simply an ordinary life form that was mutated by the fallout of Man's final days.
