Aye. I fucking loved Transformers (which is part of the reason I still eat up Prime and the IDW comics) but the films, man. Semi-coherent writing is pretty standard for the franchise (although the comics and newer shows do some really cool things with adding real depth to the universe), but with the films they aren't even pretending to try. It's style over substance to a ridiculous degree, but they've so overused that style by this point that even that fails to make me enjoy them.

Never watched any of the films. From what I heard it was a love story, featuring the robots. Kinda like Tom and Jerry the movie was the story of an little girl looking for her father, featuring aforementioned cat and mouse.

Can I rant, for just a second?

It boggles my mind how I can use and love computers so much yet scream "I FUCKING HATE COMPUTERS" on a near daily basis. Every piece of Technology I touch either breaks or won't work properly for me. I break every pair of earbuds I buy after a while even though I put way too much effort to handle them delicately. My phone sometimes just refuses to do what I tell it. My computer decides to have problems that I can never seem to google a single similar situation, at least not with working solutions.

I'm not afraid to say I'm pretty damn savvy when it comes to understanding the applications and wonders that technology brings. But holy fucking shit, I'm basically a 90 year old man when trying to get it to DO WHAT I FUCKING TELL IT TO DO.

Halfway into the leaked pilot of "Constantine." It's mediocre as fuck. Everyone's American. It takes place in modern times (which is fucked in and of itself, as Constantine as a character does not work for shit outside of his time period - that's why the bloody comics stopped). There's no smoking. Constantine is competent. The world isn't out to get him. The effects are corny, and not in a good way. The dialogue is stilted. Oh, look, they killed a major character from the comics. No reaction from the other characters. More room for shitty characters made by the show's creators, I guess! Yay for that! Soundtrack is arse. Shitty nods to the shitty shit that makes up the rest of DC's canon, which should be kept as far away as possible from the few decent things they manage to publish. Fucking Atlanta. Revising reaction from "fucking mediocre" to "shaping up to be worse garbage than the movie."

It's Hellblazer all fucked-up for the Supernatural audience. Pop shit. Maybe it fits better with the reworked junk they did a couple years back. Guess they brought back the character. Show's really disappointing, anyway. Too fond of occult jargon, all flash and no substance. And so fucking American. It can redeem itself by having the demon Fuckpig appear. This will never happen.

True that. But at least the movie didn't even pretend to try, y'know? This one, the guy that plays Constantine is a dead ringer for him. They've clearly at least read someone's TVTropes article on the series, even. But it's so far from the tone of the comics, and it's killin' me. This is DC's attempt to one-up Marvel on the live adaptation front, and it's really not working for me, at all. (Hellblazer should never have been a part of that, either)

I'd say you should watch it for yourselves before making a judgment, really - maybe it's a decent ripoff of Supernatural, with some twists, if you don't go in expecting Hellblazer - but it felt like paint-by-the-numbers done by someone with all the wrong colors: formulaic and still completely wrong. Like, they know what elements to throw in (Nergal! Ravenscar! Damnation! Chas!) but have no idea what they mean or how to treat them. And then they made everyone American.

Yeah, fuck all those Americans. First you've got Americans replacing foreigners on TV, then they start cultural takeover, then before long you've got troops rolling in.

Which will be fucking awesome if you're one of those troops, because the spoils of war includes Belgian waffles and Belgian guns and Belgian chocolate and some other stuff that I suppose is also good that isn't from Belgium.

Bottom line I'm making about this new Hellblazer show is, I'm hungry and I want more guns. That just about sums up this show.

Yup. I like Americans just fine. I am one. But Hellblazer was a comic situated in a very specific time and place, and removing it from that was a bad, pandering move, that pretty much sums up (to me) the ideology behind the show. Like I said, though, judge for yourself - worst that can happen is it's forty-some minutes you'll never get back.

Been getting two trailers today on youtube vids.
Dracula - Man turns into monster to save family, drinks blood and gains superpower. Can control swarms of bats to the point of it being pretty much TK.
Lucy - Features Morgan Freeman. Running off the premise of '10% of your brain'. Apparently there's a drug that increases brain usage, and a mule gets the drug broken in her stomach, giving her increasing superpowers and decreasing empathy to sociopathy. Mind and matter manipulation.  (Personally waiting for twist ending where she's just suffering from epilepsy).

Seem some play's of Broforce, it seems potentially quite fun. Rather unbalanced though.
And just looked on MercK, and it did seem rather neat actually. Kinda like a tinkered Metal slug. Slight "eh" at some designs, but overall seemed rather fun.
