For me, the ride usually ends roughly eight seconds in, accompanied by a wave of apologies.
Bitch, that's a mistake.
The ride never ends, even when it hits climax and it only goes downhill, you keep going because that's all you can do.

you need to put in a start up disk and see if it can get you a system restore from your last update, I had an issue with some kinf of virus once, elimnated the virus but the damage it wrought was severe, managed to restore from an update about 2 week prior and the computer worked smooth since

Augh, if it's not one thing it's another - I think my occasional headaches have today manifested in extra-strength form. God, I need to buy more painkillers. And shampoo, I'm almost out. Super light sensitive right now, but I have to review someone's code for class. Blech. This one I think approaches migraine status; it is very close to debilitating.
edit: this is what I get for stressing out and for attempting to solve problems by applying caffeine to them.

I know the feel, I get those on a regular basis, no joke. Sometimes pain killers won't work, especially stuff like Tylenol. (I don't actually know for sure what Tylenol is classified as, my first school just apparently thought it was funny to give me shit that doesn't work.) I usually spring for a combination of Advil and Sudafed, and if I can't get that I go for migraine formula or Excedrin...and I I can't get that I take aspirin. Helps to take it with coffee since it speeds up the process, at least in my experience.Overlong Analysis Cobalt wrote:Augh, if it's not one thing it's another - I think my occasional headaches have today manifested in extra-strength form. @Iron
Thanks, dude. I don't have any painkillers at all at the moment, sadly, and it's too late to go get some. Usually, the normal stuff works - acetaminophen or whatever. I've wrapped a cold, wet cloth around my head, and will be attempting some other folk remedies shortly. (Sucks that you get them regularly - I don't get them all that often, sometimes once every few days, sometimes once a month - and they're rarely as bad as this)
edit: lol its only getting worse

Try leeches. It'll relieve the excess blood pressure in your head.
Might also let the leech control your body like a puppet, but it's a Risk V. Reward assessment you have to make for yourself

Fucking hell, just found out that 20,000 words of my story had gone missing somehow. How the fuck does this shit happen without me:
1. Realising that it's light a couple thousand words
2. Being told "Oh hey, this chapter ends abruptly, as in, mid word."
Weirdest thing is it has been like it for quite some time too. What. The. Fuck?

Just to be safe I changed my password and fixed the chapter. I mean, I doubt anyone would hack me just to remove 2/3 of my chapter, and only on one chapter... but still, that's quite hard to explain why such a large chunk would just be missing.

Really, it might have been a site fuckup, especially now with the big layout change (which brought back the 502's that had rarely been seen for a long while before, which Knighty would rather waste their time with April Fools "pranks" than bother fixing.)

Re: [Official!] Project Horizons Comment Crew Chat thread.
True, true.
It makes sense that it could've been the layout or something. I'm not really sure how long ago it was, but it was quite a long time ago from what I gather because I'd been updating a database with wordcount and I'm pretty sure that was prior to layout change...
Ah well, it's fixed now either way. I'm just surprised that no-one had mentioned it if it had been as long as I think it was.

Re: [Official!] Project Horizons Comment Crew Chat thread.
edit: I done goofed, one sec.
No, I said I wouldn't be posting there at all if I can't either let go of what has tainted me and my opinions or have positive feedback.
I'm still around and there's absolutely no reason why I shouldn't be posting in this thread, especially seeing as I'm the one who started it. It's just that I was doing more damage than good with my feedback on PH after a certain point.
Sorry, misunderstood your post at first. Anyway, here's how it's going down:
I'm still allowing myself to post on the rest of Cloudsville, absolutely. Hell, I have my own story/thread for said story to post in when there's something relevant to talk about with it. Admittedly I haven't had any news in about a month now but the story is still going on and I actually got back to writing today.
This chat thread hasn't got as much of a link to the PH discussion thread as the name implies. In reality, it's actually little more than my way of having grouped up everyone that was posting in the other thread and bringing them all somewhere out of the way of the main discussion thread so that can stay on topic without the constant discussions it otherwise had.
This thread has flourished for it, we're free to talk about absolutely anything we want and change topic or have mutliple topics whenever we like.
Because of this, there's really no issue with posting what I want in here. If Somber decides to come along and post along with us, I wouldn't say a scrap of anything about PH content because I know how to separate those two things. If he wanted to talk to us about games, he'd be plenty welcomed to do so. If he wanted to talk to us about sport, he'd be plenty welcomed to do so - and so on.
However, with the PH discussion thread, I've allowed for my feelings to become twisted by negativity and my ability to make an argument that isn't just emotion has gone down, albeit not completely but enough.
All I've done by posting over there lately is upset Somber and Ryx. Somber wasn't listening to the suggestions I was making (from what I can tell) In the way I was hoping he would and Ryx is generally very, very fragile emotionally.
All I end up doing there is harm.
So yeah, I'm still posting on the rest of the forum. If it turns out that Swicked actually hates me or something now, so be it. If he only hates what I was saying, then that's better.
But yeah, Somber =! Cloudsville, even if coming here in the first place was because of the PH discussions.

Is this a recent thing? I got KSP on Steam and it ran fine as far as I can tell as of about a week ago. I'm even running AVG.Kippershy wrote:Annnnnd I can't even turn AVG off.

I'm wondering if it's worth uninstalling AVG just to be sure.

At least with mine, the hypersensitivity to light leads to escalation of the headache itself when triggered, so it might not get as bad or recover more quickly if you don't, say, stare at text on a glowing screen for extended periods. But that's the kind of advice that leads to me spending several hours out of any given month hiding in a closet or under furniture trying to get away from all audio and visual input. In the long run there are different triggers and symptoms and treatments for pretty much every individual, so if this becomes a recurring problem you should try a variety of pharmaceuticals until you get one that works. And if you have the shit luck for it to become common, experiment with different diets and sleep patterns to see if they affect frequency or severity.
And when all else fails, maybe some variation on biofeedback? My life would be dramatically shittier if I could not consciously manipulate the pressures in my skull to some degree.
Edit: actually most of the people claiming to be able to you on biofeedback seem kinda sketch; I never actually went through the treatments, just learned to tweak things myself as a kid because nothing else worked on my headaches, so I don't know anything about the legit/quack ratio of these people... talk to a real doctor before giving them any money or anything, k?
