Meleagridis wrote:Checking the wiki, it says she wasn't part of a tribe. Survivors of a zebra stable.
'Course, that wiki isn't the most reliable source.
So, actually, that answers my question; it seems that Xenith wasn't even aware of the Remnant. I suppose that can be expected from an isolationist tribe descended from Stabled Equestrian zebras, and particularly when the speaker was a slave for many years.Kkat wrote:Xenith hesitated, but relented as the silence stretched out. “I learned the brewing of potions and remedies both mundane and magical from my grandparents. In their youth, they had been adventurers of sorts, prying into all the forbidden places -- even delving into the Everfree Forest in search of the Hut of Zecora and braving Lookout Plateau that rises above the dark fumes of Froggy Bottom Bog along the vilest stretch of the Ponytomic -- searching out old recipes and lore of zebra-kind that had been over a century lost. It is from them that I learned the ways and tales of the zebra people… or as much as I know of them.”
I looked up from my task of stacking bubblegum and bullets into a tiny fort. Somehow, the idea of the zebras as Equestrian scavengers not unlike myself was surprising. I don’t know what I had expected. Something more military and uniquely zebra, I guessed.
“My great grandparents were amongst the survivors of Stable Three, as were most zebras in the Equestrian Wasteland. As is typical for youth, my grandparents rebelled against their parent’s ways and sought to learn more about the zebras beyond the tales passed down through oral tradition since The Sealing. “
Also, I'm adding the Ponytomic to my map. I'm thinking that it flows into the Everfree and that Froggy Bottom Bog is east of Ponyville, between it and where The Republic was.
...Didn't I post something about this? And, actually, don't his replies to the book questions count?CannonFodder wrote:Is Somber still sick? Anybody hear from him in a while?
Anyway, we're planning to brush this weekend. Hopefully we can finish, but I probably can't be there Friday and Bronode probably can't be there Sunday.
edit: Oh, I see that other people have already replied to this.

Also, I have the money and the shipping address for the books, but I'm still waiting for someone to tell me what to do with them.

Sign-ups for the books are closed. All the sets have been claimed. Payments won't open until late February though, since they stick to the deadline. Don't know why.
Same decoder as before
Alternatively if Somber (understandably) doesn't want to give out his address, I could talk to the organizers and see if you could mail them directly, so they can add the shipping address.
I'll also see to it that you get a confirmation email too.
Hinds was the last one to talk with Somber. (And I'm actually a guy)
I will have to add the shipping address to the book order. My email is: Zmxva2FyZ2xAZ21haWwuY29tO. Hinds wrote:And I now have the shipping address!
Okay, so where who do I give the stuff to?

Well, ask Scootayay. She's the one who spoke to him through mails for the book thingy.

Ah, okay; I'll write him and ask if he'd mind the book people having his shipping address. It would be much easier to have them ship it to him than it would be to have them ship it to you to me to him or whatever.scootayay wrote:Sign-ups for the books are closed. That was the plan all along that the books will be shipped directly to him. I meant that normally I would have to change the shipping address because I placed the order. By sending the address directly to them, I wouldn't need to know the address.O. Hinds wrote:Ah, okay; I'll write him and ask if he'd mind the book people having his shipping address. Oh thank god I thought I was the only one. Except it's not limited to pop or Glory. Or Project Horizons.swicked wrote:I dunno how often anyone else daydreams about PH, but I have a tendency of doing so in aparticularly absurd ways. One if which is in regards to Glory.
Often when a new pop song comes on the radio I imagine her off somewhere singing it to herself.
swicked wrote:And to make this somewhat of a discussion, what genre of music do you think the others would like best?
I would assume they would like pop just as a general rule. I would hope they would like some good ol' rock and roll. Preferably rock and roll from the 70's and 80's.

Regarding payment, I'm fine with holding onto the money until whenever in late February (I don't think that PayPal charges interest), but someone will tell me when it's time, yes?

No. I would give you the email address of the organizers so you could send the address directly to them. That would be a bit more complicated though and I would have to let them know that they should change the order address to the one in your mail.O. They are out of books now. That's the problem. Otherwise it would be a lot easier if Hinds ordered one, but that's sadly not possible anymore.swicked wrote:...just cancel the order, scootayay. They're not out of book sets, right? Hinds can order one himself. This way they don't know what they are getting is Somber's address in the first place, in case that matters.

I was proposing that whole thing because I thought that Somber maybe wouldn't want ME to see his address. I didn't think that it would be a problem that the organizers had his address...

Oh dude, like, ALL the time. Mostly when I'm at work, because I have a very boring menial job which leads me to run on autopilot most of the day, thus i'm a habitual day dreamer normally. But ever since I read FO:E and started Horizons my daydreams have been prettymuch 85% FO:E/PH related.
Like today, I was thinking bout Rampage in mixers, rampaging with this as the soundtrack: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h2mse2GyXls
I doubt anypony in Horizons would be down with the gabba techno though.... exept maybe Deus?

No wait, that's Rampage.
Well, she seems to have developed a liking for chamber music. Maybe it's that Sparkle blood coming to the fore. I think BJ's pretty omnivorous as far as music goes. It seems like she didn't get much exposure in 99, so now she's down with just about anything that isn't praising the Overmare. And it seems to change depending on whether she's in manic or depressive mode.Meleagridis wrote:Beyond the bar songs, I'm not sure about Blackjack. I'm absolutely positive, however, that it would be slower than anyone expects. Nothing that could be thought of as a 'fighting tune.'

Somber, before you disappear I asked a while back may I draw some fanart for project horizons of your favorite high action scene from after blackjack becomes a cyberpony? The reason I ask if that I have given up attempting to draw ponies and are just going to do humanized from now on, and secondly I am graduating soon and if the drawing is good enough may I put it in my portfolio since I am trying to get into illustration. Obviously not for profit or anything of the sort, just going to future potential jobs "here is some of my drawings, this is why you should hire me".
Obviously I am asking beforehand because in my opinion it would be quite rude of me to not ask.
Did you file a reservation beforehand? I hear cerberus hates it whenever someone shows up to dine without making a reservation at leaststringtheory wrote:HUZZAH!Somber wrote:We made good progress. I'm kinda glad the dream I just had of Somber moving East to New York was entirely false.
Weird dream.
Anyway, that is excellent news.

No, but I inferred in the dream that he had lost his job. It had a negative feel to it.swicked wrote:
