Sorry guys. I wish I could have donated, but as I said before my money isn't coming in till next fridayO. Hinds wrote:We now have 120 USD, which is almost certainly more than enough! Further donations ought to be sent directly to Somber.
Now, how do I pay for the books?
Somber, I have a question. I'm thinking of doing some fanart for project horizons for class and potentially putting it in my portfolio. My questions are what is your favorite high action scene from after blackjack becomes a cyberpony, and if I like the drawing may I put it in my portfolio since I am still in college and my degree is towards graphics. I won't get any money off it or anything, just a "hey here's some of my past works and this is what I've drawn" to potentially get a job. The only other thing is I went afk from drawing for half a year cause I was trying to learn how to draw ponies properly. I suck at drawing ponies, so if I get a message from you saying "okey dokey" it would have to be humanized though cause I still can't draw ponies properly. I threw out almost all my past pony drawings cause I am so ashamed of how they turned out.
I'm asking even though people have done fanart in the past, I want to know if it's okay to potentially put it in my portfolio.

Re: [GRIMDARK] Fallout Equestria: Project Horizons Discussion
Actually I already reserved a set, but that was primarily because at the time it looked as if all the available sets would have been claimed soon. I'll probably cancel that if you order one.Icy Shake wrote:O. Hinds wrote:We now have 120 USD, which is almost certainly more than enough! Further donations ought to be sent directly to Somber.
Now, how do I pay for the books?
1. Fill out this form if you haven't done so already, probably with your contact info and Somber's shipping address. (You will probably get a confirmation email from the organizers.)
2. Hurry up and wait until the final price has been determined sometime after 17 February.
3. Send the money via Paypal based on instructions from the organizers.
I've known those guys for around half a year now, so I could talk to them if you want me to.

I'll go ahead and email Somber to ask for his shipping address, though.

That was fast. Kudos to those who sent cash.
My mother probably wouldn't approve of me sending money to some random guy on the internet anyway...

Somber wrote:The robot froze as she finished removing the casing. She looked back at me. “What did you say? You do what now?”
“Put dead ponies in the reprocessors…” I blinked at her shocked and disgusted expression. “What? That’s what we’re supposed to do, right?”
“Uh, maybe if you like a high protein diet,” she said, still looking a little shaken. “Reprocessors weren’t made for that, though. That’s why I installed an incinerator.” She gave a disgusted little shiver. “And breeding what now?”
Also, Moojave poke. I'm not sure if it's actually been that long (the start of the new semester has influenced my sense of time, I believe), but it came up in conversation earlier today.

It has, and I conveniently still have a page of writing left to do today. Normally I try to avoid writing past eleven, but I feel pretty awake today.

That's the thing about the Awkward Man-Hug: it is limited by nothing. Gender, outgoingness... it surpasses them all. It does not matter who is hugging, be they woman or man or extrovert or introvert, the the stiff 'pat-pat' of the awkward man-hug transforms every embrace into itself.Kattlarv wrote:@Mele: I can tell where I'm not wanted xD
Come. Join us in an awkwardly bent-at-the-waist embrace.
- Mane Cast Music Preferences:
- I believe that Lacunae would say she has no preference if asked, only allow herself to be caught listening to classical or choir, and secretly enjoy a few genres with less brainy connotations. I hope she get's caught listening to Fiddlesticks' Greatest Bluegrass Hits.
Scotch would be Mixers, those Daft-Punk ponies. The only reason I think this is because I've seen swicked's Scotch and P-21 relationships more than the canon interaction, and Scotch seems to be pretty good at bringing in something to put him on edge out of nowhere.
P-21 I see as either a piano or guitar guy.
If pop is a thing, it would certainly be Glory's weakness.
Beyond the bar songs, I'm not sure about Blackjack. I'm absolutely positive, however, that it would be slower than anyone expects. Nothing that could be thought of as a 'fighting tune.'
Rampage probably loves everything that has a good beat to it, and maybe some slow sad songs that make her think of happier times. Doc Ock probably huffs at all music. Twist would take the sorts of cheers sung in the military... and the songs she used to sing back in Ponyville, before things got dark and songs stopped coming from nowhere. Shujaa probably likes traditional zebra chants, though I could see some brand of pony music with an uncanny resemblance (or none at all) catch her ear. Maybe swing. Razorwire probably loves punk, if it exists.

swicked wrote:Are you sure shujaa would like those traditional chants?
Considering the environment she was living in I figure she would have backed away from as much of the zebra culture as possible, with the exception of martial arts.
I am sure she wouldn't give a damn about what ponies thought. A little like Steelhooves, I see some quiet pride in there. In fact, I don't doubt she'd be clinging to tradition a little more fiercely because of the scrutiny. I could see her deliberately hanging some zebra paraphernalia by her bunk not because it reminds her of her heritage but because it would make some ponies confront her. Unlike emaciated zebra foals, she could probably defend herself from a few racists. The more soldiers that harass her about being zebra, the more opportunities she has to defend her honor and dedication to the equestrian armed forces.
It's a little self destructive. Which is why I believe it. That harmful urge draws together a few characters in PH.
But in answer to the actual question, I believe she would listen to them. Most of her listening pleasure, however, would be on something much more new to her.

Here's a question I've thought of: did the Remnant have any relations with Xenith's tribe, and, if so, what?

Troll answer: They're the ones that burned it
Real answer: I honestly couldn't say. I don't remember if we ever got a good location for where Xenith's tribe was at, or if they migrated around on a consistent basis. If they were migratory, I would guess they might have traveled through the Hoofington area at some point and come into contact with them, but since we don't have any real info on them it would all be conjecture.

Checking the wiki, it says she wasn't part of a tribe. Survivors of a zebra stable.
'Course, that wiki isn't the most reliable source.

I thought that she was in a tribe that got attacked or something. She got sent to Filly as a slave, and her daughter and the other foals started up a town near Canterlot.Meleagridis wrote:Checking the wiki, it says she wasn't part of a tribe. Survivors of a zebra stable.

Re: [GRIMDARK] Fallout Equestria: Project Horizons Discussion
If I recall correctly, which is more recent as I'm rereading it, her grandparents came from Stable 3 and escaped. Not too sure whether or not the zebra population went migratory as it wasn't explained upon too much, but yeah, Xenith got captured, her husband slain, and her child left under the shadow of the Doombunny.
