But yeah, I can see why it wasn't suitable to actually be the explanation in the chapter.

I was a bit less enthused about it and would have had some questions had it made it into the chapter.
Particularly what was meant by "defenses" and in what way the wireless capabilities were inactive

I gave some thought for the whole EoS thingy and what he may be looking for.
At first the intentions were unclear, we knew it collected souls, but why?
In this chapter, Golden said that the EoS collecting souls of mortals is a byproduct of his need to consume stars.
And after he consume stars he grows and begin to consume whole solar systems.

But mabey the EoS is not as evil as BJ and GB think?
For those of you that played Mass Effect 3, you know that the reapers killed everyone in order to preserve them, since once in every "cycle" the A.I will try to over throw the mortals, so the Reapers saw the need to preserve life through...making a reaper out of them, so that their consciousness will remain.

What if the EoS is kind of the same.
It does not know what happens to souls in the after life.
Perhaps he is a machine that was constructed in a far away place, in search of Immortality.
Yet he himself is afraid of that afterlife and wish to save "souls" from it.
Be it of stars, ponies or ants.
For BJ and GB its truly evil, necromancy, mass extinction, mind control.
But for the EoS, there is no right and good, there is only the correct action, and that is to save the souls from the afterlife which he is does not what it contains, and so is afraid of it.

I just read Simply Rarity...and happened to be listening to my usual mildly depressing music as I did so. I hadn't done any looking and didn't know what to expect and the feel train just bowled me over and now its 11 pm and I think I'm gonna go cry myself to sleep..

You're probably gonna want to post that on your fimfic blog for max publicity, buuuut... I can't seem to listen to any of the tracks. I think it's because it "releases" tomorrow or something, so you might want to hold off on sending the link around till then. I'm gonna give a guess here and say that letting people listen to the music for free increases the number of sales you're going to get there by about a zillion percent.

Nothing wrong with an early release

I feel like we're doing a Darksiders thing, where you have to balance out the good with evil for a few hundred years or else you'll throw the whole universe out of whack...cue EoS doing the "good" thing and erasing Equus from existance so something new can come along

Thanks.  A lot of people say Applejack and Rainbow are OOC, but I can see RD just saying critical things like that without really thinking about it.  And Applejack does draw back when she realizes her questions are upsetting Rarity.  But maybe that's just me...
