I am sure there might be good characters. Considering they seem to get replaced by completely fucking different alternate universe ones with the same name and look. Only certain parts of them ever being similar at all. Like that every version of BJ whines about shit. Or that every single universe female is retarded and "have to do better" because they have moral and respect unlike males.

@Kipper: Regarding the dick sucking thing, that more or less feels like the current state of PH, that if you pay it enough, and do exactly as it says, it will reward you by allowing you the "honor" of servicing it. It's like a chinise sweatshop demanding the workers to pay if they want the honor of working there.

And I guess my "question" was: Any suggestion for a "reason" for them to want to help humanity, or overall just help them. What I'm talking about is chemistry, not opinion of quality (which is subjective, as I personally enjoy them). Even bad characters can work well together and produce a quality whole. Once again using Mass Effect 2 as an example, I fucking hated Miranda. She was a bland, cold bitch despite all the attempts at giving her depth and complexity. However, she interacted fantastically with other characters like Jack, providing contrast and harmony to improve the quality of the squad.

Also, Katt, just chill out a bit. You're being really over the fucking top.

There's a thread for ph discussion I'm thinking if you no longer visit that thread chances are you're tired of hearing about that story, and if you do still visit that thread and read the story dragging the discussion here just serves to annoy those people.

Ah, gotcha. Well, let's say the aliens have a non-interference policy when it comes to sentient races (after several brutal wars in the past that nearly saw their way of life destroyed, perhaps), so the hero guy is both sort of going against that but also without backup. He or she realizes that the only way to save this world is to get the humans to do it (since his people won't come down from the sky to save everything) and decides to become an example of the better way his/her people advocate. How's that sound?

And then of course you could get his/her species' disapproval of his/her actions, 'cos he or she is interfering, albeit in a helpful way rather than imposing, and he or she is conflicted about that.
