The author is not dead. He started posting on reddit again about two weeks ago after being gone for 10 months. That does not mean he will finish the story though, but good news that he is not dead.

It was a dick-move on his part to just drop off the face of the earth without saying anything. The least he could've done was leave a blog post for his readers.
