Re: [GRIMDARK] Fallout Equestria: Project Horizons Discussion
She might be referring to the brief issue of Faust not being included in a DVD commentary, IIRC, and wanting to be. I think it was settled that Faust was on the list of people to be called up for that sort of thing, but there wasn't enough room on the DVDs or something this time. Didn't really follow it much.

Wouldn't that indicate, to the contrary, that she still hold interest in the show but the higher-ups might have problems with her ?

Aye, I don't think Faust hates the show now or anything, I just don't know all the details. Going by her Twitter, I think she's still a fan of the show and its fanbase. (Also, she says that the Powerpuff Girls were originally the Whoopass Girls, so that's cool)

Hey, Frenchie? You speak for Europe, sure, but not for the real masters of the world.
It's new year when my clock says so because I set the time to go to dinner for the rest of the world.

She said that she refuses to watch seasons 2 or 3 because she doesn't like the direction the show has taken. I can't find the reference but I believe it was a reply from her on deviantart

No, Caihome, as I know it she isn't watching the show because its like watching someone else raise your daughter to her. She can't bring herself to do it.

Happy new year everypony. Here's hoping we stick around for the next one.
Because There's no other group of insanely deranged geeks, that I would rather spend a year of my life with.
Hmm. I wonder what Blackjack and Co.'s new years party would look like, and more importantly, what would the morning after look like...

@Kipper: (rant) *cough* I honestly didn't think it would be that long of a ramble, that, and I was woozy. But eh... I guess I need to both chill down and be better at formulating.
And I wish to a degree I could just "turn off" like that, but as said, I care too much about the story and characters to not do ^=^' Which often can be quite annoying as said. But yeah, overall, I guess I to a degree try to "help" improve it as it goes. So far we've had a few things tweaked. Not too many, but some.
As for your ... ramble I guess they are called? We do many of those overall at least.
@Somber sickness: Not to sound... what's it called... malicious/spiteful, but it's been rather nice with a break from PH, managed to ... sort of get rested mentally.

- Spoiler:
- As said before, I am quite "meh" that he has something on everyone for every occasion, he never fails with anything either, unless when it is needed for plot convenience. Same applies to prior more or less.
I will have to object on him being "everything his parents wanted him to be" if I recall, he was being taken care off by some someone else, along with him being quite hated by nobility (and there's technically only nobility, not royalty.) Blueblood is kind of the only "shown" royalty. Don't recall which one he actually was, bit if it is the latter, it once again has to "fanwank" him, like oh so many other character. As said, no character important to the plot can merely be semi-good or semi-important, they have to be THE BEST more or less. As said, shown with both Styg, BJ and more or less everyone. I know it can be fun to make a character "special", but not every single one has to be the ancient dova-kin or whatever. Which kind of happens all the time in PH. It's just a tad bit too "anime" and "cliché" for me. But eh, it has to be taken I guess. But yeah, if I don't recall, he got hit for "not behaving" as he "supported" the zebras, thus was a stupid fuck according to the nobles. That, and his whole "Bitch, please, you're only a goddess." seeming mentality. Along with that he put himself higher than anyone else. I know it goes with the stick up the ass nobles have, but he has it even towards everyone above him, making him the centre of the universe. And yeah, I know it might not "be like that", but more than once he has seemingly acted like it. Oh, and ofc: the whole thing that EVERYONE respects him or obeys him. Biggest "wtf?" examples being Twilight and Celestia.
That said, there's several thing with him I wouldn't mind as a whole. But the fact he does so many of them, along with a ton of other things being so frequent, even if not related to him, just makes me sick of him. Especially all the "glory hogging" of the more or less "Oh, none of the main six or anyone actually did shit, I actually did ALL of that, they just did my bidding and followed my glorious planning. And the said fact none was allowed to truly "hate" him. Since the poor little thing was ill... he doesn't feel that well balanced, since he has to be so awesome, he can't have many flaws! Sorta like Styg, which was more or less as said 8-10 Str, End, Agi, Luck Cha and a possible 2-7 Int. Some super strong supernatural abilities and whatnot. His "counter balance" being that he's a bit shy until you bend over, and him being a virgin (which got taken care off within a day) and that he couldn't speak until he had to reveal he was the destined, prestiged leader of his people... yes, that totally balances him out. As said with a prior D&D comparison, some "perks" they have as to their supposed flaws just are pointless. Like "This character gets the light frame perk, but to balance out that flaw he got from it, I'll give him the strong back for this extra free perk I'll give him for taking that light frame!" it's like the guy that takes a flaw like, "coward" that gives a -4 on fear checks for a extra feat, then goes paladin and gets fearless... a flaw isn't really a flaw if it doesn't affect the character negatively. If they GAIN things from having a flaw, it is not really a flaw... and feh, again, I'm rambling and suck too much at explaining for this to make sense...
And eh... I know I'd need to do a in depth analasys, but there's just too much douchefagery and unexplained moments for me to even want to bother right now.
And again, their relation makes little sense, and as said, he likely just manipulated and sexually abused her for his own gain. Since she really has nothing to gain from him she couldn't get at least twice as good from a dozen other stallions. And again with the whole recklessness just proves further he wanted her for her womb.
To me, he is quite two dimensional, since I don't count "being amazing" as a side. He's either successfully manipulating whomever he wants, or whining about shit he messed up due to that "he had to". He just martyrs himself and goes a bit "generic emo".
All and all, I dislike his "I am right!" crusade. As said, he does what he thinks he's right, since he is obviously the only one smart enough to be right, making everyone else wrong. Then bitches about how awesome he is and what he's had to do with his amazing skills. To me he's more or less done two thing. Whine and overcompensate successfully. The few other attempts of doing anything else have been rather pathetic in both execution and response. Like the "He was Goldenblood, the pony. I now forgave him for everything he did since he showed me that he was selfish enough to abuse Fluttershy, how thoughtful of himself!" or the "I am super pissed off on you for what you did to one of my best and most fragile friends. Oh no! You're coughing like you've done 946 times before like about every time we've ever met before! I am suddenly not mad at all on you, and instead worried and concerned!"
And I know, I've tried to look past "who he is", but too much of it is either put out too stupid, or treated to stupid for me to be able to really respect it.
As for Shy, as said, I want to find out how he manipulated, abused or overall threatened her to sleep with him. As it obviously worked up until he strained her too hard. If it turns out it somehow was fully consensual and "love"on her side, that will take a hell lot of a good story to why she's go past the mountain of sex toys (most automatic) and suitors to pick up a bent, rusty screwdriver with a handle covered in pictures of dead foals to conclude "Yes, this is what I am going to use to sexually please myself with!"
Overall, unless his plan was to abuse and try to break down Fluttershy so the ministry mares would disband, he's just a selfish asshole in that department... well, he'd be that either way. Especially with how when it seemingly failed to make Fluttershy quit or commit suicide by having a miscarriage, he simply ordered for them to die with assassins. He has too much tunnel vision and is too flat for me to like. (as a character, not "like" like) Then again, I know people can both make their own extra added "padding" to a character they like, making them seem a ton better then they are, or they can trim them down, making them seem worse than they are. But yeah... the whole two part of either whining or manipulating is just too flat for me. I know there's the third part of him "being flawless" in some areas, but that's not a personality, that's fanwanking, like Styg got, he was not allowed to be bad in any way. And then there's his combination of the first and second: Whining since he did something to himself by manipulation. He has little to no right to bitch about something he did to himself. He manipulated or otherwise forced Fluttershy to be his sex toy, then bitched about it over him not "deserving" it, seems quite a bit like he did it on purpose so he could just whine and had a reason to feel sorry for himself, along with "making someone else feel his pain". Overall though, I don't see why he simply didn't take some mare and brainwashed her like he did with Psalm. Or raped someone, he was already a murderer and he fills all the criteria to be a rapist my PH standard. Or perhaps that would have made him "too evil". But all and all, even if you think the character "deserves" to get laid, give them what they deserve or need. Currently Golden has someone waaay out of his league, and Shy fetched someone from the gutter to satisfy his needs. That's where it mainly breaks for me, she needed to receive, but he mainly just came in and just took, since he can't offer much, along with just being bad memories.
I'm not really seeing his flaws tbh, since more than half of them are self inflicted, and even half of those has a positive outcome for him. It's like... his flaw is to fail on rolls of 1-5 (or 96-100) on a D100, 6-100 is a success. That's not really a flaw compared to how on average, has 15-50 % chance to fail on a roll.
And while it could be interesting, I think I'd just ramble too much...
@Somber sickness: Not to sound... what's it called... malicious/spiteful, but it's been rather nice with a break from PH, managed to ... sort of get rested mentally.

Howdy y'all
In case anybody is interested in a hard copy of Fo:E, the second printing is now open. You can find the website for the printing here: http://book.fallout-equestria.com/
The link to the sign-up form is on the frontpage.
The price for one set should be relatively similar(or less) as in the first printing and should be around $85 in the states and ~$130 everywhere else(~$110 in Canada). The prices for the first printing are listed here: Prices
I already got my copies in the first printing and I'm very satisfied with the quality. (Pictures can be found here)
How about we get Somber a set?

Re: [GRIMDARK] Fallout Equestria: Project Horizons Discussion
Bleugh. Well I went in to urgent care. Got myself a dandy case of pneumonia. They think the antibiotics I got 2 weeks ago for my brochitus might have been bad. Apparently they're made in Serbia or Croatia so, yeah. But after two bouts of IV antibiotics and coughing up brown and black chunks all night and morning, I'm actually feeling remarkably better. The fever's gone down to manigible levels. I've even made 6p of progress on 53. Unfortunately, it looks like it's gonna be a long chapter with a whole bunch of stuff in it. It's also got some major structural issues that will have to be resolved... basically me cutting and pasting whole sections and chopping out some parts that aren't working like I'd hoped.
Unfortunately, I also have a whole lot of grading I didn't get done because I was too sick out of my gourd to get finished. My hope is... scheduals permitting... we will be able to get it brushed next weekend. I'm so very sorry I wasn't able to get a chapter out this last month.

Great that you are feeling better. Sucks that you are sick in the first place, though.
I'll spare the general spiel on the chapter. You've heard it many times.

Ouch. I'm sorry to hear that your sickness has gotten worse in the past few days. I'm glad that you feel better now, let's hope you get well soon.
Like ketchup said, nobody minds that the chapter is delayed. Your well being and real life always takes priority.

As I've always said, please just take the time you need to take care of yourself. I am very glad you were able to get some treatment, and that you're feeling better though!
We'll be here and ready whenever you can finish the chapter, so please just focus on your school work and taking care of yourself first. *hugs you gently*
