Daemon Princes also have nothing on Genestealer Broods either, actually. (Dat hypnotic gaze.)

Star Trek's ships move incredibly fast, really, and most ships have a maximum speed of Warp 8-9. Star Wars' ships have various Hyperdrive ratings; the reason the Millennium Falcon is so damned fast is because it has a stolen military-grade Hyperdrive.

Stargate... I dunno 'bout Stargate.

has anyone here heard of The Lord Inquisitor? It's a fan made 40k animation/movie, coming in 2013, made mostly by one guy, semi-officially sanctioned by GW, and the script is being written by Aaron Dembski-Bowden (Black Library author, did the Night Lord trilogy, along with a couple other books)
have a trailer from early in it's development:

ignore the voice work, that's the one guy, the final should have full voice actors

Stargate... I dunno 'bout Stargate.

Its not just the falcon that moves in that general speed. the capitol ships actually cover vast swaths of distance in real space with a higher thrust rate, the falcon can outmaneuver them. I wonder about inertial dampeners

Yes they(Star Trek) move incredibly fast through real space, my thoughts are this, Voyager they were flung to a distant portion of the galaxy and still required massive amounts of time to travel back to earth. by comparison, given the distances I described you can see which franchise has the faster FTL capabilities (Given in Atlantis, the City Ship Atlantis managed to cover the gap between the milky way and the Pegasus galaxy incredibly fast, i forget how fast, but it wasn't long for them to go from edge to edge of the galaxies in a few hours when powered by a full complement of ZPMs [a power module that obtains zero point energy from an artificial vacuum created in subspace, has entropy limit] whereas the Asgard Built Hyper drive on the Daedalus took 18 days, 4 is powered by a ZPM to cover the same distance.)

Broken Bonds is pretty good in my opinion. Slightly iffy writing in the beginning but it serves to get the point across, therefore I have no real complaints.

I was originally reading Heroes when I first came to FimFiction, I got a few chapters in before mentally yelling "By all things holy! Silver Storm stop being an abrasive bitch!" I cannot stand that character at times.

Leave me in a room with her for longer than five minutes and I would probably strangle her to death. I'm considering diving back into the abrasive shitstorm (I'm at chapter 7) but I am absolutely dreading it. Starlight is one of the best ones I've read, I wouldn't be surprised if the author was a professional writer/english teacher.

I've stalled in literary pursuits recently:

Still 1600 words in on my newest chapter, which is a week overdue;

Still on chapter 21 of Fo:E;

Still on chapter 3 of PH;
(I started reading it because Ketchup says they take place in parallel until a certain point, at which time I will finish up Fo:E before continuing.)

And I had to write a small piece about an eerie place for English class. It didn't turn out very well, IMO.

I guess I've been too distracted by life, or perhaps it's the fickleness of my muse. It torments me to keep my readers (287 of them, geez) waiting, because I've no excuse!

I've begun to realize something. I've come the conclusion that not only have fan works overtaken the quality of the show proper, I'm not even that big a fan of the show. Call me a jerk, but I kind of dislike that whole cast.

Twilight is an obsessive, naive child who likely has Obsessive Compulsive Personality Disorder

Rarity is a self-centered, superficial, makeup-caked sycophant who likely has Histronic Personality Disorder

Rainbow is an arrogant, irresponsible, selfish piece of shit who likely has Narcissistic Personality Disorder

Pinkie Pie is just fucking annoying.

Fluttershy is a naive, Stupid Good coward who's only ability is putting on Plot Armor whenever she gets grumpy.

Applejack is the least abrasive and least likely to have any severe psychological problems, but she just gets under my skin too.

Well, you wouldn't be able to strangle Silver to death, seeing as she's a hulking brute of a pony.
You'd probably need a large-caliber shotgun loaded with tungsten APDS rounds to get into her thick skull.

Thanks dude, that's awesome to hear.
I do agree, my writing at the very start was terrible and I don't even know how I got any fans at all, but somehow I do.
It seems to get better as I go along, but of course I'll always be learning.

Like I said, I'll definitely be going over the very beginning at some point with revisions and such. Perhaps keep a copy of the old version prior to the revisions on a google link and keep the link at the bottom of the page for those who want to see the old version.
Maybe.

As for Heroes, I read it because Mint Juliep kept saying how good it was... though to be fair, he IS an editor for it so he is very biased.
I got to page ten, fell asleep some way through and I've never bothered to try read it again.
It...
It had it's moments but for me, it didn't have anywhere near enough focus.

Also, the author breaks the SPECIAL system to try seem cool.
Starts her off with 10 strength then gives her a bionic leg and goes LOLOLOL NOW SHE HAS 11 STRENGTH!

Which, I know doesn't really matter in terms of story, but it's fucking annoying as a Fallout player.
10 strength is max, no matter what.
You DON'T break the limit because it -cannot be done-.
There is nothing above ten.

If he'd just made her 9 then go up to 10, I'd have been fine. That doesn't happen though, and annoyed me for it.

We have our own thread now? I need to visit more often, I guess.

I haven't read any side stories beyond PH, a little bit of Pink Eyes, and my own, of course. (Hint hint wink nudge say-no-more.) People kept saying Pink Eyes was great but never really grew on me. I'll have to go back and give it another shot some time. Then Broken Bonds. Then Heroes. Then... oh god there's too many!

Anyway, how's everyone doing today? Physically, emotionally, spiritually, agriculturally... You get the idea. My personal bullshit is under a spoiler tag because I don't want folks to feel obligated to read it, which I guess I'm kind of doing by typing this but oh well.

I don't see why it's so important to treat every story as though it's to be based 100% off the fallout universe statistic wise.

I read the first chapter of Armed Redemption but because it was oh so long ago, I don't remember much.

Just that they were meant to be protecting some town, some of the mercs were jerking around and the leader scolded them for it.
Then when they were looking one way, some bandits came and burned down the town from another way, leaving the mercs unsure of where to go and such.

Right?

That's all I remember.

Anyway, going back to answering it point by point.

I couldn't even finish chapter two of Pink Eyes, if I recall correctly. The character annoyed me with the constant stupid bullshit and just... eugh. Yes, I know she's only a child but I have heard she goes from being a child with no brain to having one similar to an adult, to no brain again all the time.

The things she supposedly does, as in, blowing up a tower and releasing some super evil A.I? Again, not something I can see her really doing, accident or not.

I really don't know, maybe it's something you have to grit your teeth and bare it to enjoy, like my story is for the first few chapters even in my own mind, but hell, I'm not forced to read it so I won't.

I'm doing fine. Nothing too much to say really, but that's better than being terrible, right?

I'm glad you've been doing so well in terms of your college stuff and stuff. Well done on being accepted for your work and I'm glad your father gave you positive feedback. The reason you crave it so much is because he gives so little of it and as a child, you would've been told that he's your dad and he's supposed to love you and give you everything and make you happy, no doubt.
Well, what happens when he doesn't do all that to the way you wished he did?

Anyone else you'd say fuck 'em, but your dad is different, so you crave it.
Being accepted and being told you're good by him is like gods hand feeding Adam and Eve. It's just amazing if it never happens.

How do you change? Become your own person, realise you don't need that attention. Make your own path and stop striving to please him, as worthless as that advice may seem.
That's because there is no one set way to do it or even a best way, only your own way.
You'll have to figure out how you can become an adult and person in your own right by yourself in that one, sorry to say.

@Inco: Oh, I am quite sure it was an insult, even more-so, they went out of their way to make me feel back, in more than one way. In the rude "things are like this, and you know you can't do shit to change them" way. And I'm just overall worn out. But thanks.

@Kipper: Like I've said a few times before: Despite that I'm not either a very good writer, or that good at explaining, people are more than welcome to ask me stuff about anything really, opinion, me or information. Anyhow:

Have to say, makes me wonder why the sniper didn't do anything, unless as said, sniper was not there or out of ammo.

And that more or less confirms them coming from a stable, yet not. As said, if they were from a stable, they would have clothes, if they came from the society or something, they'd very likely still have clothes. Coming from a stable would excuse their retardness of strolling around without any weapon, armour or direction. But still raise the question of why a mare walked out with a bunch of children. Sure, the stable could have imploded, but still. If they came from a "sheltered" place like the society, they are still retarded for strolling out, or where they lived were retards as they didn't inform them that the wasteland actually had danger in it. As said, even if they came from it, they need to somehow be completely oblivious to even Radroaches to think it is a good idea to go out naked with a bunch of children.

Can say it's quite skilled to break a leg like that, but seems like something that'd happen in a FoE story. And there is no such thing as a "fresh" ghoul. I can see them being able to take on a foal with no problem as the average ghoul has 3-4 in Str. And a foal would be what, 1-2? Point still being, the reason ghouls are weaker is due to the radiation weakening their muscle tissue when their bodies soaked up that much radiation, dissolving muscle tissue and sinew. If anything, a fresh ghoul would be even weaker due to the recent transition. Can't honestly see how their face would get ripped off, but okay. And now you're just kinda trailing off here, you do know there's a quite delicate balance to mount something right? So you have a ghoul that while wildly ravaging a foal, uses pin-point precision to keep themselves and the foal still like a statute, while gracefully guiding the rotten, too large banana peel inside the opening of a soda can? It never occurred to you that you know, she'd be 1/3 or 2/3's his size? Or the fact as said, she'd have to be INCREDIBLY well angled and positioned for it to even work position and anatomy wise. Currently you kind of have a ~7 year old on her stomach while a grown man effortlessly and gracefully penetrates her in a single solid motion while pinning her down and biting her in the ear... I just see this as more and more illogical and frankly somewhat moronic. Even if her ass would be up in the air, unless he had her in a perfect vice, she could still plop her rear down on the ground, since I am confident even a child's lower body has more muscle than a physically weakened cock. Her laying perfectly still waiting for him to find the entrance and managing to push it in seems as likely as BJ concluding she should stand still on this acid that is fizzling and melting her legs off.

Sooo... yeah. Not to be like that, but a ghoul pulling off such flawless acrobatic feat along with all that multitasking seems as plausible as Somber swapping the gender roles+norms, including saucy, graphic clop detail along with Scotch marrying P-21 and being Rampages mistress... or them finding a beat up and messy Styg tied on his back along a bed with a cicle-ballgag and spreader bars, a sign going "Slut for sale" with Wisp waving cheerfully next to him with a big bag of bits... along with everyone in the BJ crew buying a "round". Okay yeah, I am trailing off here, sorry. I see he also got a healing potion shortage as well heh. And really, as said, for said ghoul to even have much of an impact, he'd need to have at least 30-60 seconds to spare with her just lying there, or a minimum of 15 sec. It's way too implausible to even be remotely believable imo.

The reason for why he hate them is good, it's just retarded at how it was performed. It's like... he hates unicorns, since this one unicorn found Celestia's pubes, and by wearing it as a moustache granting them the power to fly and control hair tentacles! Using there to sound and rupture the erectile tissue for 5 colts and a stallion, tearing a foals tail straight off with one of them! Like... yes, they killed and "raped" children, that is a reason to hate them, but... the the method of HOW it was done is just... wat? Yours if not that bad, but not too far from tbh. ...see it as a bit like as probable I'd see it as a crazed mare would manage to tackle onto a colt, pummel him in the face with one front hoof, while using the other front one to simultaneously be hoofing his urethra... or make that use her horn for it, then we're about on the same page of effort and probability. The rape there just feels uneccecary and shoehorned in, it doesn't fit nor really serve a purpose, just there to endorse/promote rape, or fish for emotions/empathy. (which tbh, Somber seems to do a lot, though as said, almost solely for females. Really pondering if it's due to a whole "it's not sexist/sad if it happens to a male". Like, I'm sure you heard the story of a shopkeeper woman capturing a male burglar, keeping him and raping him for days, and all mostly just laughed at it, while if it had been the opposite, tables would be flipped.)

Anyhow, I personally find said things interesting. Much of my writing trail off "out of character". Like "okay, now this happened, wat do?" Like as mentioned before, my "jewish" character has no fucking intent or will to work with Gestapo, but now she does. Will have to make the best of it. Now, not saying everyone have to do this or that, but sometimes using a "GM save" is rather cheap, if only for plot convenience. I could see avoiding it not daring to write it. But one can always "fade out", then try to think how they would deal with things like that. Could be a good wake up call for a character, or to make them more "aware", even if intervening to stop it shortly after it happened, just shaking them up with the "it COULD have happened". And I guess having first hand experience in it would make me better at it, but overall, as said before, you're more than welcome to ask me for advice or if I think it makes sense. Though as said, I have my own way of thinking hehe.

@Rum: Stop showing me stuff tickling my shipping sense xD I woke up with a bad enough morning dew today that lasted two hours xD

@Frost: One of the more used descriptions of Fluttershy has been "worthless piece of autistic shit" :P

@EP: (Special) I still love the perk I gave to my "totally sane one winged pegasus". "Rambo" is the best perk ever xD

Well, you wouldn't be able to strangle Silver to death, seeing as she's a hulking brute of a pony.
You'd probably need a large-caliber shotgun loaded with tungsten APDS rounds to get into her thick skull.

Well, someone has never met Ironmonger in real life. I associate myself with iron and steel for a reason. *cracks neck*

EDIT: Then again, I am also rather short compared to some people despite being the largest of my siblings. I AM MINI WEAPONS GUY, AND THIS IS MY WEAPON! *twirls shotgun*

Just that they were meant to be protecting some town, some of the mercs were jerking around and the leader scolded them for it.
Then when they were looking one way, some bandits came and burned down the town from another way, leaving the mercs unsure of where to go and such.

Right?

That's all I remember.

The first two chapters are a little wierd, as well as a lot more serious in tone, before we decided to take the story in another direction. The new chapter as well as those coming in the future are a return to the dark humor and unique brand of insanity that the original Fallout games (and New Vegas) had, while also containing a fair amount of drama and tension of their own.
