Hm... They might be able to make plastic from plants and stuff harvested from the sea, though the high volumes of petroleum industry come later.

So do you think that plastic-shelled explosive bullets would be the best idea for standard issue, or would some other design, such as nonmetal-filled kinetic penetrators, be better?

Actually, now you've gotten me thinking: could the cartridges be made out of plastic as well?
Funny enough I was just looking at early Plastics, Search Bakelite which is a early pre 1900 plastic which is used among other things to produce gun magazines, pistol and rifle grips but not bullets themselves to quote a UK learning website

UK Learning wrote:The first truly synthetic plastic was invented by Leo Baekeland - a Belgium chemist living in New York. Baekeland was already very rich as he had invented the first commercially successful photographic paper and sold it to George Eastman in 1898 for $1 million. With such money, Baekeland could engage himself in whatever research he decided to do.

In 1905, he found that when he combined formaldehyde and phenol, he produced a material that bound all types of powders together. He called this material Bakelite - after himself - and it was the first thermosetting plastic in the world. This was a material that once it set hard would not soften under heat. It had so many uses and so many potential uses, that it was called "the material of a thousand uses".

Bakelite was water and solvent resistant; could be used as an electrical insulator; was rock hard but could be cut by a knife and was used in 78 rpm records and telephones.

New plastics were invented such as neoprene in 1932, polythene in 1933 and Perspex in 1934. One of the most famous wholly synthetic fibres was invented in 1938 at the cost of $10 million - nylon. In the first year of its creation, nylon went into toothbrush bristles and nylon stockings. 64 million pairs of stockings were made in 1938 alone. Nylon was also used by the military in World War Two for gearing wheels in vehicles and parachute cords.

Plastic as a whole was very important in World War Two. ‘Plane cockpits were made of Perspex, polythene was used in insulate radar and plastic was used to make synthetic rubber for tyres.

Phenol is a natural byproduct of some kinds of coal refinement and can be easily sifted from coal tar and formaldehyde can be harvested a few different ways the most common involves reacting methane so your talking about something they could easily produce with a coal field and natural gas spring nearby. And it lets you construct a good 50% of the gun out of plastics, everything from the grip and magazines to the trigger guards and outer housing fixture with only the bolt and barrel itself requiring metal.
Well, they don't have that in the early days of Masozi, but that sort of thing is likely how Zebra plastic production began.

I didn't draw that stuff, just a thing from deviantart. I stopped drawing a long time ago because I have vision problems as it is, and it only gets worse when I draw. When I'm staring at sheet of paper during drawing my vision starts to fade out a bit, by the time I'm done I'm half blind. That's why I want to get into vectoring.

EDIT: I have an idea for a small faction, the Greasers. Their armor mimics the appearance of Spartan Hoplites to an extent and they have access to some vehicles. Most of their weaponry is very simple but reliable. Their weapon designs can usually be identified by folding stocks intended to be used while in a vehicle or other cramped interior.

Oh great news, I went and got to help feed Tracy's herd, it was not bad, I'm still figuring out the way to set the halter. Anyway, fed the girls, and the bull, and the steer. the bull was okay when we were feeding him, then when it came time to move all the girls out of the feeding pens, Tracy let the bull out and as I was letting girls out of the side he came out of, he went around to the other side of the pen and was making his way towards me. Panic ensued, then we got him away, went to get the gilrs out the other side... he made his way around again, and at the time I had one of those heifers and tried to put her between me and the bull, she didn't want to, so to get away from the bull, I let the heifer go, not supposed to do that, and Tracy had to chase the bull off.

that was exciting, but I was doing pretty good, also this cattle is Tracy's family's and they don't know me very well. The bull also sees me as both a potential threat to the herd and as another competing male, but is not overtly aggressive towards me in particular as he has hurt Tracy's mom and they are going to be getting rid of him. Still we had to wail on him with dirt clods, ropes, kicks, and at one point a chain (chainl to the hard plate on his head) to get him to back off.

that is what people mean when they say bull headed.

When somber was describing the destruction that Minotaur wrought upon the store, its about right, also their heads are really really hard with a thick skull plate.

The severed part flies off in an arc! I'm going through another fortress right now, (say, do above-ground walls and a door work against goblins? I sure hope so!) and if everything goes swell, I'm going to try your mod to have some of this *FUN* that I trust you have added.

@Cpt: Well, the last guy that did, we actually haven't heard from in over a month... and bleh... even if I know it was just a "offer", I still wonder how that imagine would have looked that one offered to do for my Soarin fic... might be due to my awful social skills I scared them away xP

@Robo: So you can take cheap pot shots at people from a safe distance while you sit and hide? Don't you already do that on the forums? x3

@EP: On a side note, I've just against been reminded how sad the 18+ part of the MLP fandom is. The majority of the popular stuff shows little to, or no respect to character, anatomy, personality, originality, quality or whatnot. Just did a quick check, and while many of the "very popular" people are the few that actually tend to care about these, the large overwhelming majority doesn't. Was reminded on this when I noticed that the average "most popular" had characters be OOC, often neglecting anatomy (in more than just "those parts", even if it was a fic) and generally do generic things. And to me, if you like a character, what is the point of stripping said character off all personality and just use their looks for something? To me that just doesn't make much of any sense. Are they just hogging "promotion" of a 18+ work by using a popular characters look? But really, to me, if someone put Edward Cullens or Justin Beibers personality in someone that looked like... Zevran, Alistar, Jack Sparrow or Anakin Skywalkers body. Or put like, Jessica Rabbit, Hanna Montana or generic slutty porn star #7 in Morrigan, Poison Ivy, Samus, Krystal... that girl from Brave or someone like that with a ... okay, Samus and Krystal doesn't really have that much of a personality, but that would just ruin and break the "immersion" for me. Why doesn't this seem to be a problem for seeming everyone else? Augh! Why do I have to have such problems with things like this, and double standards or illogical things. Erf... but yeah... just so sick of those often putting little effort in just milling out bland, generic stuff and it gets popular, while those that actually work on their stuff generally gets more of a "meh", since "it's not what they expect", why do people have to be so damn repetitive? Excuse my late night rambling.

@Kim
Ain't that the usual problem about adult material? That the majority just turn out generic dumb stuff? I mean a lot of fanservice does that as well. One time a buddy of mine wanted to shock me by showing me some... female art posing in very... skimpy clothing, but all I did was point out the absurdity of the posture. I mean come on! How does one bend their back and still live? Or where are all of that girl's organs?
Edit: I seem to be more commenting on aesthetics than characters. Character wise characters are usually bent and smashed into whatever mold the generic story needs. T'is why I got really bored with manga in general.

I agree with the Kattsesment of the fandom. There's a lot of stuff I notice that's like "here's my baddass pony with COOL UNIQUE CLOTHES MY OC DO NOT STEAL" and that's the end of it, or two dimensional personalities ie "This one is mean terrible villian and this one is a slut, go hog wild." Yeesh.

Oooh, controversial.

While I disagree because STORY, you can argue that it's nature to want to do everything to save the ones you love. She was .00000000001% living at that point and with Rampage's nervous system, there was hope and a way to save her, so they did. When you look at everything that's happened since, even with all the negatives, it was worth keeping her around, even for herself.

That is true, it ended up being a good thing she stayed around, but they couldn't have known that ahead of time, so it was a pretty dumb choice for them to have made like that.

Also, it really conflicts with my beliefs on death, because if your time has come then that's it, it's over. Giving one pony a second chance to live like that is incredibly selfish, and I'm pretty sure the other ponies living around Hoofington might be slightly pissed off that Security was saved when their loved ones all stay dead.

Call me a bastard but I thought it was a good idea bringing Blackjack back. Yes it may have been selfish, but when there is a tool/engine around that can perform a really important job, in this case fixing up Hoofington either directly or by proxy, you keep that damn tool around.

When you already have a team of badasses that could clean up Hoofington after BJ is gone, it wasn't actually necessary. Yes, you could say that Glory, P21, Rampage and them would have broken apart without her, but I doubt it. They've been through a lot together, so I doubt they would just drift apart because BJ died, if anything I would anticipate them wanting to keep her memory alive by continuing on for her.

And ain't that why Blackjack was feeling guilty that first bit after being essentially resurrected? The thing is, no other character so far could have as much as impact on Hoofington as Blackjack. Had any other character mentioned been revived, they probably wouldn't do the crazy things Blackjack does to try and save the Hoof, and thus Harbingers would essentially steamroll everything. And losing Blackjack means that the whole party gets bad endings. I'm sure some resent her having a second chance, but then again it's most likely due to her that they actually have a chance to resent her.
