Your instructions did not work Necro no matter how I tried once I got the server going Forge was at 1.4.7 and the player was at 1.4.6, FTB would not start without forcing me to "update" back to 1.4.6.

It worked for me. I ran the server on my mac, and I was able to join and play it just fine. Can you get on Teamspeak?

The FTB launcher does NOT force me to update my version when I play. Did you leave it on recommended, or version 5 of the Direwolf20 mod pack? If you leave it on version 5, it should stay there unless you change it back. You installed the mods separately for player and server,right?

Yes and yes, I have version 5 and on launch it forces me to 1.4.6

I found the problem. TC stands for Traincraft, not Thaumcraft. Also, did you go into the Thaumcraft config file and enable worldgen in pre-existing chunks using the directions I provided earlier? If not, that's pretty important, and something you will need to do.

Oh, and by the way the server is up and running! Turns out that my method from before worked for me but not Adder, for some bizarre reason I'm still not exactly sure of. Regardless, the server is up and running now.

In order to play on it, you will have to follow a few simple steps. These will be a lot easier than the steps I posted earlier.

1: Download the Direwolf20 folder here: https://www.box.com/s/36bj722ctq9wv96a3htm it's a pretty massive file, so you may have to wait a while.
2: Once it is downloaded, unzip it and place it on your desktop (or wherever the FTB_Launcher.jar is located if it's not on your desktop). You should also copy it and save the copy to a different location as a backup. If you already have an old Direwolf20 folder on your desktop, replace it with the new one.
3: Open the Feed The Beast launcher. Then select (but don't run) the Direwolf20 pack. Now, above the list of mod packs, there should be several buttons. To the right of the button that says Download Server there is a drop down list that says either Recommended or a number. Click this, and choose 5 from the list.
4: Launch the Direwolf20 modpack. If it fails to load, exit out and launch it again. If it STILL fails to load, or you encounter some other problem, then post it here, so we can try to sort it out.

Does that mean that you were able to install Direwolf20 version 5 successfully? If so, that is good.

As far as you still being banned goes, Adder didn't know that I would figure out how to get things working last night. Also, the banned list is something I'm sure he doesn't think about very often, so it could have easily just slipped his mind, and he could have just forgot that he had to remove you from the list in order for you to actually be unbanned. That said, it's an easy fix and I'm sure you will be able to log on again soon.

Yeah, everything went fine the first time (failed to launch both mods first go, as you said they might - worked the second time) but the server wasn't cooperating as we know.

Just done your thing, didn't remove the old folder but I did tell the new folder to extract to desktop and overwrite anything it pleased, seems to work so far - I managed to connect to the server before being booted by ban so I'm guessing I did it right.

Server restarted, server backed up, Kipper fixed worldgen turned on for Thaum, key is "thistoshallpass" and started up.
The key is for world gen, you won't have to put it in anywhere, that's a comment for Necro.

Server might be laggy for the next twenty minute as dropbox process the backup.

So, I tried your technique, Necro, and it didn't work. So I used the legit way instead. Everything went well until...

Basically, I would just need to put an MC-1.4.7 jar to get that bitch running. How do I do that ?

Harmoy this is the easy way.

Delete everything
Download feed the beast, click the Direwolf20 pack. Click Direwolf20, click version 5 then download it.

After it's done downloading start and run direwolf 20 if it crashes that's fine run it again. If it crashes again come get me. If not then download Necro's link, and use it to overwrite your Direwolf20 install. And you should be good.

Good new :

Made a clean, legit install of the Version 5 of Direwolf20's modpack. Copy-Pasted the two missing mods and their config from Necro's ZIP.

Managed to start the game menu screen. Logged on the server.


Bad new :

Managed to log in, but I spawn in the Nether Nexus, and the game immediately freeze and stop responding.

Please note that this happened every time I went to the Nexus even when we were still on the old FTB modpack. Though I never did freeze immediately upon entering it.

It is worth noting that more files than just the ones for those two mods were carried over from the Mindcrack pack, so perhaps you are missing something else as well.

Good news I can take down the server and edit your location in the files so your not in the Nether Nexus.

Necro : when I tried your way the first time, what happened was that I didn't get past the initial FTB logo animation while starting the game. I'll have to run a comparison between which mods are in your ZIP and which are in the DW20-V5 modpack.


Adder : Cool, but if the game keep crashing each time go to the Nexus (which it was doing before already), I don't think I'll be able to play on the server in any meaningful way. :(

I said that might happen. You just need to close out of Feed the Beast, and try launching it again. It should work the second time, even if it takes a minute to load. You should still do the thing Adder said about overwriting your current Direwolf20 file with mine, though.

Harm I've edited your location as I've said your back in the real world. You problem might be with the Nether in general. As for playing I've spent months not visiting the Nexus and the end. It's the overworld where we build after all.

However, using the legit way, and copying the missing mods in the mod folder, and the necessary config files in the config folder, works. As has been demonstrated by me being able to log on the server, only suffering from a bug which was already happening before all that.


So, I'll ask again :

Give me the list of the mods I need to add, and those I need to remove. And I'll selectively copy-paste what I need.

Good new : I can connect on the server, and did an hour-long tour of it with Adder.

Bad new : my internet connection is still as shitty as it was before, and being teleported around or using MystCraft books result in a high percentage chance of the game crashing through lag.
