I set up this pack to use, it has TMI (won't work multiplayer though), Ponies, and a fly mod for the pegasi.
please don't abuse the fly mod. and I warn you, you may need to tweak things a bit before it'll work.

I would love to help out but my little lappy can't do too much either. A back up plan could always be renting out a server...but I don't know too much about that so it could be a bad idea who knows.

The customer support is slow, and there answer for everything involving lag is "Oh, it was the mist recent Minecraft update." or "Uninstall some plugins." But yeah, if you do manage to get a server, I can help out with it if you want.

Since you know more then I do, then could you tell me where would be a good deal? I'm looking at multiplaygameservers.com right now and it's pretty much the cheapest one I can find. What would also be a good number for memory? I wouldn't mind paying for a little server, up to maybe 20 people or so(or whatever you think is a good number) but I don't plan on paying more then $25/month for this thing. Any suggestions?

Hm... It depends if you want plugins or not. For a server with no plugins, I would say 2 GB's is good. (Remember, I had the server back in Beta, so it may be different now) My server had 1 GB of RAM and ran well with 8 or so people, but that was with a decent amount of plugins. I would say, for 20 people, anywhere between two and three GB's of RAM. Now, do you know the internet speed of the servers themselves? I had a 100 mgb connection, ran wonderfully. Now, you may be asking me "I thought you hated Servercraft." I hate there customer support, but when I alone fixed the issue I was having, the server ran great.

I'm looking at Servercraft right now and seeing that I might just go with them. But I'm looking at the $23/month deal and seeing that it only has 900MB or memory. All I'm looking to do is just add the Mine Little Pony mod on it and possibly the TooManyItems mod as well(idk if it works). Nothing too fancy, you know? Would that still be good? That plan holds up to 14 ponies it says, which is good enough for us(i think).

Okay, first of all, Mine Little Pony and Too Many Items are both single player mods. This means that only the person who installed the mod onto there own Minecraft file will see the effects. So, basically these mods cannot be installed on a server. Mine Little Pony, however, if the player has it, will work for that one player. And for Too Many Items, the player using it would need to have access to the command "/give <Player> <Item ID> <Number of Items>".

Okay, that was a lot of text, i'll try and shorten it. Both mods are single player, and you can't "force" players on your server to use them, unless they have it installed themselves.

As for the RAM situation. I suppose if all we want is a vanilla server, then it may work. However, I remember when I had Servercraft (The format was a little different) I had 1 GB of RAM for $30 a month. Servercraft said that it would run 1 - 16 players smoothly, however it really only ran 1 - 8. (Please note, I ran at least 8 plugins at a time, and they do take up RAM)

You are getting a better deal, as you are paying less than me and getting almost the same amount of RAM as the server I had a few months ago. Also, I had the server in Beta, so how servers run may have been very optimized. So maybe the server could run 1 - 18 players. I suggest trying to find a server admin who has had recent Servercraft experience.

On the mods, I've got ponies and TMI already packaged together (plus flight for pegasi). I'll go zip them up so people can have a download of it pre-setup.

Quick question: Will there a be a rule on how fast you can go as a Pegasus? With fly mod?

not quite sure, I have only ever tested two fly mods, but the one I'm using (and have in the pre-setup pack I put together) let you fly at what I think is only a little faster then normal walking, plus you can "run" with it like normal running, only again, I think a little faster. it's all toggle able though, so I'll play around with it a bit before posting the pack up.

(the pony mod has pegasi put out their legs when they "run" while flying, which looks awesome.)

Okay, as the fastest flyer in Equestia, can I simply use my Zombe Fly Mod and fly at whatever speed I desire? No, there's no need to allow that.

Ok, no server up yet, but I have packaged together a pack that includes too many items, a fly mod, and PONIES!

it is set up to have flight be toggle-able and to make everyone look like ponies.
Flying does conflict with normal controls, so you might want to play around with it a bit. it is made to be easily set up for windows and those on macs I hope can get it to work (I'll tell you how if you don't know).

Yeah, it'll be for MineCraft. I'm hoping to use it for us and possibly some of my other friends(most of which are bronies as well :P) but I guess we'll talk about that more when it gets closer to the time

It'll probably be vanilla until I know what I'm doing/what I want. It all depends on how many ponies use it, how they use it, and who helps.

I'll call you 808. I don't like using the middle of names; I've gotta use the start or the end.

I prefer vanilla. Instead of loading it up with a ton of addons, we play the normal version and have to survive.

That's what I might do. Unless I have tooooooons of memory and the instal for add-ons is stupidly easy, then I won't do that yet. I did see some super bad-A add-ons on the Bukkit forums(like an economy add-on) so I might have to give something a try eventually :P

Okay, so I got some money here and ready to get the server. I just need to get some admins....or whatever. I vote for Linguz, Spitfire, and myself for now and see how it goes. The server I'm planning on getting now is from http://www.multiplaygameservers.com/game-servers/mc-minecraft/ and I'm choosing the 15people slot. If we need more then.....tough luck? :P Just wanted to get some approval before going.
