I've been planning to write a FoE story for the good part of 2 months, making notes every day and still can not think of a good theme, but it will involve humour and a strong psychological aspect with less consistent violence. I'm taking this shit pretty damn seriously because if it works well, I'd want to also transition it to be pony-less. It's a very difficult task as I'm trying to strive for originality among the fics.

Ideally I'd also like to act it as an audio drama with a slideshow of original art on youtube with written chapters following after. My brother is up for narrator and certain male parts, but I still don't have the story planned.

I want it to be reaaaaal special. :)

While we're on the subject of OC's I'm going to take this as a chance to ask if my OC is OP. Iron Fury is described as being "twice and a half the size of an average stallion" and is also a unicorn. Powerful telekinetic and uses powerful shield spells but is a complete ditz when it comes to other spells, he's no Element of Magic. SPECIAL is 10-6-5-1-8-10-0 respectively. And he's a noob at social maneuvering.

With a Charisma of 1 he muyst be really really ugly...
also agility of 10 must be good at melee and well big strong and agile, lets see, high intelligence, average endurance, I am guessing he really needs to be sure to finish things fast or he will tucker out, I actually like this, if you ignore the luck part because if it a variable chance for character favor, then really you have a character which is more lifelike than others and a Unicorn that can stand face to face and look eye to eye to an alicorn! wowzah! I kind of want to do a play through of this character

Glad you like my OC. I was afraid he was going to be OP. (rhyme may or may not be intentional). The reason his Charisma is so low is because he was trained from colthood to wage war and not much else so he lacks social skills beyond tactics and ordering people around. He can match the strength of a pony like Silver Storm and he has near-genius level intelligence, but as you said he can't last long in a melee and thus prefers to fight with his marksman rifle. I asked an artist to draw him for me.

She wouldn't say yes, though. Technically speaking, with a charisma of 1, he probably shouldn't be able to form linguistic thoughts. Charisma, IMO, is about manipulation and expression even more than looks. With it at 1, that indicates serious mental handicaps. We're talking eats-his-own-shit psychotic, someone who makes cannibal raiders seems rational. He can be a genius, in his way, but realistically speaking he should be exceptionally limited mentally by this. In a game, it'd work, but for a character, his thoughts - assuming he even has thoughts as we know them, since it's probable he would never develop language (sort of like a "feral child") - would be utterly alien to most readers.

Again, just my read of the situation.

This is going to be epic. Shameless self promotion, ACTIVATE! Iron Fury is my Ponysona, a mandate I tend to follow is "If you want a realistic character, base them off of real people." His size comes from the fact that I'm the largest in my immediate family unless you count my half-brother. I've already spoken on my intelligence and like me he is absent-minded to an absurd extent. I have low charisma given I don't like most people and I stay away from them. Okay essay complete.

He has a sense of pragmatic morality so he tends to rub other ponies the wrong way. Coming off as a monster or savage to others is bound to deduct some charm points.

I think charisma of 1 would be more like a heavy autistic, and he has to be capable of communication to of been raised as a warrior.

My favorite DC character of all time, Cassandra Cain, was like that. She was raised as an experiement to see what would happen if someone was raised without ever being taught an audible language, and it resulted in a character so fluent in body language she was positively mythic.

But yeah, in general, I'm thinking more autistic. Rainman, but not so smart.

...might be a good idea to have his charisma be 3, though, as 1 might be too low to be understandable by anyone that doesn't know him really, really well already.

When I created him I was partly looking at his SPECIAL stats. I got it in my head to take points away from luck for clears and charisma since he's a soldier so I can put points in other areas. My concept on his Charisma was just that he doesn't deal with people well and is rough around the edges. He can form impressive sentences but he's not the best at socializing. Does any of this make sense?

At one point he gets a cybernetic upgrade that gives his charisma a nudge. How and why he gets it and what it is will remain a mystery until I write that chapter.
