I must know Davids secret! How is it that he so consistently pushes my buttons, more specifically the buttons that make my insides feel all squirmy.

With the latest chapter he started pushing buttons I didn't know I had!
Spoiler:
I thought I was going to vomit my own intestines out. I didn't know I found that repulsive.

Spoiler:

Davids must be a psychology teacher, because there is no way a normal person can screw with my head this much. And I must be a masochist because I'm rereading Horizons before it's even done.

@Tytan IIRC, Somber are English language teacher (and I may be shunned for not telling you, that Somber is pony, who writes the story, and English teacher are David...)
Btw..I'd suggest for you and others to put discussion of new chapter(s) under spoiler tag until at least 1 day after publishing chapter are gone. So people wont, unintentionally, read spoilers to new chapter.

I'm sorry. I R NOObY. Seriously that was my first post here. I don't know the rules. I kinda made that post for some sense of catharsis to relieve some of the squirmieness in my squishy bits.

But fear not! I'm a quick study and I will learn the rules. I'll edit that first post in a bit.

Thank you. And thank you every pony for your feedback. It really means a ton to me. Even more than donations in the tip jar... knowing this story matters to you makes it matter to me.

And sorry for messing with your head. Goddess is not nice. She took out all her nice. Now nasty is all that's left...

What the fuck did you just fucking say about me, you little bitch?
I’ll have you know I graduated top of my class in the Navy Seals, and
I’ve been involved in numerous secret raids on Al-Quaeda, and I have
over 300 confirmed kills. I am trained in gorilla warfare and I’m the
top sniper in the entire US armed forces. You are nothing to me but just
another target. I will wipe you the fuck out with precision the likes
of which has never been seen before on this Earth, mark my fucking
words. You think you can get away with saying that shit to me over the
Internet? Think again, fucker. As we speak I am contacting my secret
network of spies across the USA and your IP is
being traced right now so you better prepare for the storm, maggot. The
storm that wipes out the pathetic little thing you call your life.
You’re fucking dead, kid. I can be anywhere, anytime, and I can kill you
in over seven hundred ways, and that’s just with my bare hands. Not
only am I extensively trained in unarmed combat, but I have access to
the entire arsenal of the United States Marine Corps and I will use it
to its full extent to wipe your miserable ass off the face of the
continent, you little shit. If only you could have known what unholy
retribution your little “clever” comment was about to bring down upon
you, maybe you would have held your fucking tongue. But you couldn’t,
you didn’t, and now you’re paying the price, you goddamn idiot. I will
shit fury all over you and you will drown in it. You’re fucking dead,
kiddo.

Does that mean that there's a version of Lacunae out there that is the happiest pony of Happytown? I keep having this image of Alicorns that embody the very essence of various unhelpful (to the goddess) emotions. Like one that's filled rage, or another that's lust (Probably looks like Princess Molestia). One for each of the deadly sins perhaps (collect the whole set!)?

Also please don't take it that I don't like Horizons for making me feel like Blackjacks guts in the screaming room, I actually like it more than a lot of professionally published work.

Actually, I can't remember where I read it, but someone DID portray just that.

There's one alicorn sitting in the manehattan crater (filled with radiation) with constant rage that just smashes everything she sees.
There's one alicorn sitting in some cave that just rubs herself off on all the walls and such because she's the lust dump.
I think there's another alicorn that does something else, but don't remember.

Anyway, it isn't canon, but there is a fic or something out there that says about that, lol.

Unrelated to everything:

Today I learnt that when you get a splinter that goes through the bottom of your finger and inserts itself to the bone of your middle knuckle...
Oh god does it hurt to:

1. Clasp your hand
2. Take it out.

I had a splinter go from under the knuckle into my finger and make its way between the joint.
You cannot imagine the amount of blood that went everywhere. There was a damned lot, especially for such a small wound.

Still, I'd prefer that fucker any day of the week over the time I had a splinter under my eyelid which threatened to (and almost did) pierce through into my eye.

@kippershy

I had a splinter in my eye once. It's kind of hard to explain, but me and my dad were driving with the top down when all of a sudden my eye started hurting like someone had stabbed me in it.

Long story short; One bottle of saline, lots of tears, and a trip to the optometrist later we got it out and I was all kinds of happy. (What stunned me was that it was the size of... something embarrassingly small to get stuck in your eye and cause that much pain.)

I'm going to start reading now, finally got back home. It took an extra half hour to leave for lunch, then we shopped for shoes for my sister for 2 hours. Then my other sister wanted to buy something and we stopped somewhere else, too. Was supposed to be back in an hour, and it took 4.

I didn't cry personally, but then, long story short, I've been hit by cars, had my foot crushed by something weighing over a ton (literally), dented my leg and lots more little things.

The piece I got in my eye was also extremely small. Tiniest little thing, though that's what really makes it so easy to get it caught under the eyelid and makes it so dangerous, I suppose.
Definitely the worst pain in my entire life, despite rating it 7 out of 10 to the nurse at A&E.

How long did you have to wait to get yours out?

I had it in my eye for about an hour. Here's the sad thing, I got it out at walmart (their glasses store thing at the front).

I would prefer having all my fingers crushed (again) to having another thing in my eye.

@Page 6 discussion
It's chapter fifty so we are playing the who's been hurt worse card?
Okay, let me see if I'm holding the high hand here

I've been three car accidents only one of which I was a driver. One involved a deer going through a windshield and getting cut up by the glass thrown in my face, one involved a sideways impact at fifty miles at fifty miles an hour and one involved me in the passenger seat in a car that rolled over twice down a hill at forty miles an hour.

I've been in numerous fights growing up in school which resulted in needing stitches once and lots of bruises most times, I've been stoned in the biblical sense by a bunch of idiot kids for some reason when literally chased me home throwing rocks at me.

I've also had kidney stones, one of which was bad enough that I would have embraced death if offered it, the pain was bad enough I could not move but the pills afterwords were all kinds of fun.

And my trump card is when I shattered my ankle and broke two feet by falling in a rabbit hole at fill sprinting speed up to my knee and spinning almost totally around while my foot stayed stationary, my shin broke in two places, I broke my big toe and my foot itself turned into confetti according to the doctor, took me five months to be able to get the cast off so many were the breaks.

The best part? I was thirteen years old, I was living out in the country at the time and the field I broke my leg in was over half a mile from the nearest bit of help my house which meant I had to crawl back over the period of close to an hour and I ended with torn hands and ripped up clothes from dragging himself through grass and forest.

Oh and there was the time I did a header off a ten foot brick wall onto the concrete, I fell back and broke my skull and needed fifty odd stiches to get it put back together again, and the time I fell out of a tree and broke my wrist and my head again... but I don't count those as I was 7 and 9 at the time and my memory is fuzzy at best.

A bit of both, really.

Getting hit by cars was my own choice, it was damned fun. Well, apart from the one time where I DIDN'T intend to get hit by a car but still did because my body refused to react like I'd wanted it to. (It happens a lot, my body isn't as agile as my mind and so tends to take me a half second (or more) to do sudden movements sometimes.)
Still, wasn't all that bad.

Getting my foot crushed was pure accident on my behalf. I was asked by the warehouse guy to give him a hand with this extremely heavy pallet of stock (like I say, we calculated it over a ton) which would normally be done via powered pump truck, using a hand pump truck.
Anyway, the trouble was that the pallet was stacked shitty and getting off the back of the lorry made it seem like it'd fall.
...which it almost did, enough for my friend to push the pallet back and drop it.

I was standing behind that pallet, pushing it off the truck and trying to keep it stable when he pushed it back towards me and dropped it without warning.
My hands moved backwards but my left foot then became in front of me with the sudden movement (where-as before, my hands were in front of me, and my foot would've been fine...)

The pallet fell straight on my foot, trapping me. I didn't think anything of it for the first few seconds, I was just annoyed that he'd given me no warning. Then I noticed I couldn't move and looked down, to see my foot was trapped. To make it worse, it was at such an angle where most of the pallet was actually weighing down on my foot with very little touching the floor. (One small line of the pallet, next to no area touching the floor, mostly on my foot.)
Again, about two or three seconds hit me before I realised OSHIT, MY FOOT IS STUCK and yeah.
Told him casually at first, he didn't believe me, then I said it again and he looked and went white.

Meanwhile, part of the pallet had already crashed down onto the pump truck pumper, meaning I was stuck until that was sorted... which required removing the top half of the pallet to prevent anything from smashing.
I was there for 3 minutes 49 seconds (CCTV footage) with nothing I could do but wait.

When I was freed I took two steps, let myself slump down to the floor and laugh as I pulled off my shoe and sock to find my foot was incredibly flat, though not bleeding nor bruised or anything. I laughed and laughed while my mate was like a ghost, I then hobbled off to the office before being put into a wheelchair and taken to a car to be driven home... to which I had to walk up a staircase to my flat.

I had the next day off work anyway (scheduling luck) and then went back to work the day after.

As for the splinter under the eye; long story short...
had a bit of grit in my eye from the walk to work, got a splinter on my hand which I hadn't noticed while at work (then rubbed my eye for the grit) and suffered through about an hour of utter pain and repeated eyewash (to no avail) before I told the manager it was too much, he rang my brother who came half hour later who took me to hospital which took somewhere not far under an hour in which we had to wait an hour and a half before getting a triage look at it.
First nurse couldn't see anything, sent us back to wait longer. Five minutes later a doctor had a look and got the splinter out when he pulled my eyelid up to look at my eye.

He didn't see anything until he looked at his cotton bud thing and saw a tiny speck of blue.
Then he gave me pain relief drops so he could dye my eye so he could use a UV light on it and see the damage.
He was in utter shock of the damage, my brother was amazed, and the doctor drew a picture of how it looked.

Got an eyepatch, ointment cream to avoid infection... and sent home.

Two car accidents

Two months of pneumonia

Apendicitis (with delayed treatment because my dad thought I was full of it, so that was fun.)

I'll be looking further. And chapter is good. Thanks both to Somber and editing crew Rainbow

Commentary might be a bit sparser than I usually do, but I found myself without much to say about a lot of the proceedings.

Overall I liked it a lot. As far as I can tell Somber didn't screw up Glory's characterization like she was afraid of. Lots of endings and beginnings here, some confirmations or significant supports for old theories, and hints of things to come.

One possible typo?:

Like other's mine isn't a particularly long commentary, but the chapter was excellent regardless.

Thank you all; I've noted these down and plan to look into them once I can actually get into the doc.

On two other notes:
Do you think that my avatar is okay? Apparently zebra hair is stiffer than pony hair (and the tail configuration is different, but the limitations of the pony creator mean that there's not much that I can do about that). Xanthe would have the same problem, but we could always just say that she's actually part zony.

I thought that I'd share this with you. Previously I was aware that the US Chamber of Commerce was unsavory, but reading the reasons being voted on there makes me consider that perhaps voting it out of existence would be less appropriate than giving it a generous donation of tungsten telephone poles shipped direct from orbit.

Your avatar is fine, Hinds. If you think back to S2E4 - Luna Eclipsed, Zecora has her hair down and free flowing.

I can play this game too.

For about 4 years I had to have my toes cut open and scraped with scalpels among other things because of unknown particles/hazards in my mother's mobile home. These were incredibly painful (to the point I went hoarse from screaming) and could take from a few hours to over a day. This shit bordered on surgical operation and to this day I get nervous around sharp objects and won't let anything bother my feet. When something DOES bother my feet for a certain period of time I pretty much have an emotion breakdown....yeah.

@Chapter 50

Didn't expect the gloryjack thing to go this route. I expected a WWE cage match.
