Is there a word for where you ship two characters... except the ship is intended to sink because one character is either uninterested in or loathes the other, while the first one is not endearingly romantic at all?SilentCarto wrote:Boolackjack now has competition for 'cutest ship evar'.Sindri wrote:“‘You’re my new best friend,’ the armor chirped, making the zebra mare actually blush.”
Okay, logically I know that it’s a pre-programmed phrase and that’s probably the only positive greeting-type message it has, but... *Sqeeeeeee!*
I am officially shipping Xanthe x Steath Suit now.
If so, I sinking ship CerberusxStealth Suit.
I can see it now. Blackjack is leading up front, Cerberus is hovering closer and closer to the stealth suit (who will be completely unable to properly respond). It will start with some insults. Cerberus will call out the suit as a filthy stripe, a foal-chugging monster. The suit will say nothing. Cerberus will lead in with a clumsy attempt at small talk. The suit will ask who he thinks is better, Warden Hobble or Mr. Shears? Cerberus will say that he can't beat around the bush any longer! He doesn't care if it's forbidden! May Celestia herself cast him to Tartarus! He loves the stealth suit, he loves a sneaking pansy ass suit of armor! He loves a filthy stripe and he doesn't care who knows!
Xanthe will become uncomfortable and ask to be left alone, and for Cerberus to stop hugging her.
And eventually Cerberus will find out that the stealth suit is a guy.
Stygius will go to Psychoshy if he can deal with any feeling he might have for Blackjack and he sees that Whisper needs protection. That's all he needs. Despite knowing her for longer I can't hazard a guess as to why Psycho would be set... that doesn't bode terrible ill. If she is after Stygius because he's the first viable buck since Sanguine (and is looking for something to ease the pain) then their relationship becomes... less than failproof. If this doesn't work out, she will probably kill him. Whisper is a hair trigger away from losing all right to that name and being Psychoshy forever.Kattlarv wrote:Re: Psycho+Styg:
You don't have to screw someone to love them. Another mother can bear your brother, and the two of you will become inseparable at a later date. That Krazy Kat- is Kattlarv from something? wrote:@Feather: (Snips and Snails)Although, have to say that logic wise to FoE, I don't recall them being as "gushy" over Rarity as they are in PH.
- Spoiler:
Even though I have to say I like the concept idea, I don't think it'd be done. It'd require that they "carefully hide it" by like, over-praising Rarity or whatnot. Which seems a tad far fetched, but could happen. But they likely more seem straight. (like every effing Canon character xD)
To clarify, they might just be friends willing to risk hell itself for each other.

I gotta ask about this. When you bring up the traitor and Applesnack, is it just the circumstance of being Proditor that makes this a comparison to a traitor, or are you drawing comparisons of Applesnack's treachery? I know he screwed up, but is it to the point of betrayal?swicked wrote: zebra Applesnack.

Re: [GRIMDARK] Fallout Equestria: Project Horizons Discussion
I'm pretty sure the Proditors red stripes were based on that legend of the immortal cursed warrior who wished on the stars and gained great power in exchange for destroying his tribe. In any case, Shujaa was a Proditor since significantly before she met Twist; they were comrades before they were lovers (and falling in love with an opposing soldier is just bad form, even if they switch sides later).swicked wrote:Unless Applesnack's betrayal to form applejack's rangers in the memory of his love is mirrored in Shujaa's betrayal of her tribe/kind to possibly be the one to form the Proditors was inspired by Twist's love.
Would the fact that Proditors are identifiable by their peppermint twist red and white stripes be a hint to that Twist somehow inspired them? I dunno, now that I look at it I think I'd be more willing to chalk that up to coincidence.
If you're referring, instead, to some other betrayal of Applesnack, then I'm not sure I'm following what you're asking. I just see them both as having extreme anger management problems that can and have driven them to kill, though we don't yet have any evidence that Shujaa ever outright murdered anyone in cold blood.

eh... it was one of the relatively early ones, in a story told by Sekashi. It was the first time Blackjack had ever heard of soul jars, and our first real hint as to what Rampage was. Here we go: chapter 20, Orion's story. Might be a little out of date, as my pdf is from several months ago, but I don't recall any big changes being mentioned for this chapter.swicked wrote:I think I may vaguely remember that but I believe I interpreted it, at some point, as having been about Rampage herself. Like... it had been made up in the interm 200 years.Sindri wrote:eh... it was one of the relatively early ones, in a story told by Sekashi. - Spoiler:
- Sekashi’s eyes widened. I looked over at Thorn. Without hesitation, she bit the end of her burlap
sack and dumped her belongings onto the bridge. She pawed through the strange herbs, stones, and
bottles she carried. “What kind of story does a guardian need?” She deftly bit a bottle and tossed it up
onto to her snout, extending it to me. I coughed as I took it, hoping it was some kind of medicine.
“A funny one,” I said with a little smile. “But what I really need is a story about a pony who cannot
die.”
Sekashi blinked, then tried for a smile. “Ah… well, it just so happens that I do know such a story.
Quite humorous, too. Orion’s story. Once, he was a zebra, the same as you or I.” She paused and
chuckled. “Well, I suppose that he wasn’t the same as you. He wandered the plains with his tribe. He
was not the strongest hunter, nor the bravest, nor the most capable. He was, in fact, the weakest, the
most cowardly, and the most inept. Truly, poor Orion would not last long. But still, he wanted mares, and
respect, and to stand proud and tall amongst his people.”
As Sekashi talked, I limped to the still form of Thorn and, as gently as I could, tried to slip her into
the bag. Her dull eyes looked at nothing at all, not understanding what had happened to her. I prayed,
as I brushed her eyes closed, that her last thought hadn’t been of Rampage’s betrayal. “I’m so sorry.” I
whispered to her ear. Sekashi’s story halted, and she coughed in the rain before continuing.
“And so, as young bucks are want to do, zebra or no, he made a foolish choice. One night, he
called out to the stars, asking them to make him strong and brave and terrible. And the stars heard and
granted his wish, and gave him forbidden knowledge no zebra should know. He put his spirit within a
rock and the rock within his chest.”
I sat up, looking at her as I pulled the drawstring tight with my magic. “His spirit?” There couldn’t
be a coincidence between the story and what I’d just seen, could there?
She nodded, “Yes. All things have spirits. What you call a soul. It is the truest reflection of one’s
self.” Funny...I recalled a particularly boring lecture about cutie marks. “Why would that make him…
well…invincible?”
“There is a power to spirits. Our spirit is the truest reflection of self, the thing that makes us exist
at all. And when we die, it is the piece of us that persists to eternity. But if we damage that spirit willfully
and place it within another vessel, that vessel gains the resilience of the spirit.”
“And what happens to the pony that loses it?”
She gave a shrug, “Who can speak of such things? It is a dark subject, and I speak only happy,
funny tales. When they die, their spirit may linger in its vessel, trapped for all time. But perhaps, some
day, its spirit may be free and reunited with the rest. That is what I can hope.”
“So what happened to Orion?”
“Ah, poor silly Orion with the heart of stone found himself stronger than the most terrible monster
of the savanna. With his spirit within the unbreakable heart, he knew no fear, and so nothing could stand
before his spears and hooves. But his tribe questioned how Orion could have gone from so little to so
much. They questioned if he had used the forbidden magic of the stars, and Orion grew angry. He was
strong and terrible, how dare they question how! And so, in a rage, Orion slew his tribe from the elders to
the youngest foal. And so he was left alone.
“For years he wandered. All zebras fled from Orion the traitor, for the blood of the slain had
marked him in stripes of crimson. No monster could slay him, even as he wished it, for they could not
devour the star heart. No spear could fell him. And so he cried out to the stars to take their gift back. But
the stars do not undo what they have done. So finally, he jumped so high that he reached the stars and
joined them, hunting for the most terrible monsters of the skies in the hopes that one may slay him.”
However, the red stripes being a symbol of the outcast and the traitor, and thus worn voluntarily by zebras who turned their back on their nation and their race to fight for Equestria, makes sense.

So would a possible death scenario for Rampage be:
1) Vaporize so the healing talisman is visible.
2) Cut it with EoSword.
3) Send sword to the moon.

that or while they are dealing with the megaspell in the prison something goes wrong and they have to eject the warp core- I mean remove it manually. which Rampage then does a heroic self sacrifice thing telling everyone to gtfo and everything goes zapple dapple doom.

Do Awkward Pick-Up Line Cerberus instead.
- Cerberus downloads a book of pickup lines:
- Is that a filthy stripe in you, or are you just glad to see me?
There's an adaptor for everything, baby.
Great access panel. When does it open?
Hey suit, it's your lucky day. Out of all the technological marvels here, Uncle Cerberus wants you!
Can I have your serial number? I seem to have lost mine.
I've been programmed from my inception to take down wild zebra technology, if you know what I mean.
You're a stripe. I'm in pinstripes...
If your pansy-ass people are scared of the stars, they must be terrified by your circuitry because baby I see stars whenever I look at you.
If loving a stripe is wrong I don't want to be right!

I don't believe that the parallels of Sekashi's stories are coincidences. She's already shown willingness to withhold some information she doesn't see as 'vital,' such as the whole 'I was a Remnant' thing.
Rampage hasn't been cut with that thing, yes? I do not think it all farfetched that it could butcher her. Perhaps one day they will unknowingly slice her head clean off...OneMoreDaySK wrote:So would a possible death scenario for Rampage be:

Re: [GRIMDARK] Fallout Equestria: Project Horizons Discussion
Well, we don't really know the effect of having a stone for a heart if it's not also a super-infused healing talisman. Perhaps it just gives a modest healing factor that isn't enough to stop scarring, or it only repairs enough to keep you alive, or just keeps you alive when your injuries really should have killed you. And Majina's not necessarily soul jarred herself; she was hurt much worse despite her smaller size and being a secondary target.Sindri wrote:Never thought of that. Seems unlikely though; neither of them seems to heal at an accelerated rate (Majina required major surgery and weeks of recovery, Sekashi is still horribly scarred and deafened), and she has her own story of a foolish deal with the Stars.
I dunno, just thinking.
That made me giggle. And Glory's like, "Well, we can either feed you two metric tons of Rad-Away, or I can disintegrate you again."O. Hinds wrote:And then, from the bottom of the crater shrouded in radioactive smoke, a little filly's voice shouts, "Oh come on!"
I'll bet it would work, too. Sort of. Since it's star metal, it would suck up her soul(s) until destroyed, then release them to go hover in the Necropolis. So they really need to destroy the EoS before any of this is worth doing.MrMagma wrote:Chapter 32, I believe. No-one's actually tried stabbing the talisman directly, though.
And let's just hope they get enough info to work that out before Rampage realizes this should kill her.

You know, it occurs to me that the stripes aren't merely cosmetic. They appeared on Twist's body through Shujaa, which indicates they're something that's stamped on her very soul. Re: [GRIMDARK] Fallout Equestria: Project Horizons Discussion
@Noodle: (Post) It's chill, and mostly since I slacked off so much due to irl being draining, so I had to answer many in a row due to it. And eh... I just have my PoV's. And cervix. Thing at the end of the vagina. For most it hurts like [Buy some apples] to get hit there. (some are numb to it though and may even like it) So it's a term I use instead of ex: "Sucks ass." Since it's not inherently a "dirty word", and not everyone "can" be offended by it. And if wondering how much it hurts:
@Tyler: (Psygious, xP) It is yeah. But like BJ told him from the start: She is already taken, what they did was a one time thing. Wouldn't stop him from having infatuation for her though. Psy just seems a tad bit odd imo. But eh. And I don't think Styg is "that" stupid, he just seems to be very dumb in certain subjects, along with naive. I'm sure he knows how to do other things with quite the grace. As said, he's shown quite good talents elsewhere. I think...he's not just semi-brawn and no brain. He seems to have some brain heh, even if his reasoning can be questioned at times.
As for the spoiler thing: Well... all my stuff (or well, almost) is up on FiMfiction, just go to my page. (Known as Satch there) But as said well... I got much.. *cough* kind of content... and I suck at writing info about the stories, but try to read them at least if/before reading the story xD
@Mele: (Cerb) Does "he" even have defined a gender identity for himself, and if so, can he even "love"? xP
(Psygius) Seeing how the "first impression" of Styg seems to thankfully not be as accurate any more, he wouldn't fawn over her if she just bent over, and while I doubt it'd be in her personality to do so... you never know, this is PH, many characters have very odd quirks that seems to go against their personality at times. Anyhow, I'll keep calling her Psycho until she says otherwise, with a good reason. Since she can't call herself Fluttershy, as she is pretty far from near her, she's only possibly related heritage wise. Whisper seems to be what Golden wanted to name her, and it doesn't fit her much at all, plus, it was given to her by Golden as said, someone she has no reason to care about. (unless he turns out to be a ghoul or brain in a jar, and becomes a major influence in her life) Unless she'd for some unnatural reason would feel like "honouring" her parents. Which doesn't seem like something she'd just randomly do. She currently seem to have to find herself more.
(Snips/Snails) That they can, but from what I could understand of what he wrote, I took it as they hinted that they were lovers.
And "Kattlarv" was my schools unofficial mascot, at least my class's. It's a cat-larva hybrid. In english it'd be "Catlarva". So, yeah... that's it.
@Sindri/Jermy: (Suit) ... you want me to write this? Since I'll do it xD I swear! I'm not joking! xD Don't think I could get her accent or personality right though, haven't read her enough...
@Swicked: (Snips&Snails) Yeah it was from what I recall. But I just don't see why they'd keep their childish fanboy manors after years of war, and after being adult.
@Wave: I thought it was only 1 square, overall. That it's not a "splash" weapon.
And don't feel bad, I've been the only one to think of plenty of things xD
And I was about to say something to reply to that, but I'd just trail off in a bad direction
(Suit) I think I'd be the girl for the job, if I'd just figure out what view to write it in, along with how exactly she would "think/speak". (plus, I dunno if you guys would understand my "personal" style of clopfic haha.)
Also, if anyone has tried to send me a private message, my inbox has been full, so I likely didn't get it.
- Spoiler:
- to me at least, it's like a combined knee in the vulva, hitting the clit with the centre of the blow, along with having bad stomach ache. Or for a guy: get hit in the testicles, have a bad stomach pain, and to a degree: have someone try and shove a ~pencil sized object down you urethra. So just don't, just don't go there...
- Spoiler:
- I can however say, if she "used" him to feel better (and then I mean, really "be the reaper", aka: snort and push him onto his back during sexy time, going "that's not how I do it..." and mount him instead, then kinda dumps him, possibly leaving him hanging after she got hers.) would really create a character conflict (but as she current is in mixing between seeming pussy mode and "pretending to be a bad-ass"/being herself) that could be interesting, as it could lean to Styg feeling abused, which would likely cause Rampage to "latch" onto him and offer comfort, and likely go threaten Psycho to fix it unless she'd want to have six pairs of lips or something. But honestly, I don't really have any idea where this is going. Her going solely for him due to looks conflicts her affection for Sanguine, as that solely seemed mental/pansexual. Then again, she could have developed a deep mental one, whilst actually being very superficial in her attraction.

It just caught me offguard is all. when I saw it I had to reread it. and reread it again. and then try to remember the definitions of all three words. and then put them together in a sentence. and then figure out why I still wasn't able to comprehend it. and then the buffering bar in my brain "oh yeah!"
Good to know. I just dont want to know why you know that.Kattlarv wrote: And if wondering how much it hurts:

- I have a friend who once complained to me about getting hit there during coitus. Apparently the guy she was with was particularly well hung. She slept with him a couple times after, though, so I guess she didn't mind too much. Point is, it's apparently not as unlikely as you might expect to know that sensation.
@Wavey
To be honest, the thought did occur to me as well. =P But lots of things occur to me, in my defense! My brain just likes going to weird places sometimes!
@The Chapter
I remembered another thing I appreciated: in the beginning bit, when Tulip's death wasn't blamed on Blackjack, it was another instance of BJ thinking that everything must be about her, just because. While I'd not yet discount the possibility that Tulip's death was actually somehow about BJ, I do find it entertaining that this little quirk of hers is one we often (as readers) share - everything's gotta be about Blackjack. =P

There was a question elsewhere about what would happen if a Ghoul herded zombieponies into a patch of Killing Joke if the Ghoul or the Zombieponies would be in any danger from the Killing Joke as it would make one heck of a defense if they were immune.NoodleNugget wrote:

Well killing joke likes to... kill... with jokes... Usually from a comment or thought of the victim that it plays on. For example if a Ghoul said he was 'an ol' bag of bones' killing joke would more than likely turn him into a literal bag of bones.
Feral ghouls are, well, feral. they have lost themselves so they more than likely can't use any vocabulary and probably don't have any thought processes besides 'EAT' and 'EAT MORE'. there, they have an immunity because they are sub-equine to the point that the joke wouldn't even be able to perform a joke having no material.

- Spoiler:
- A lot of (stupid) guys, after watching too much porn and never actually talking to a woman on the subject, tend to assume that deeper and harder = better. Some even seem to have picked up the impression (probably from bad hentai or something) that they're supposed to penetrate the cervix (if this happens IRL something has gone wrong; at best it will be extraordinarily unpleasant and you should likely seek medical attention). All but the stupidest and most assholish of men can be taught, so it's unlikely to be a problem more than once, but I suspect that a significant fraction of the female population knows how that feels.
Sudden mental image of a bunch of feral ghouls running through the blue vines... and turning into zombies!NoodleNugget wrote:Feral ghouls are, well, feral. they have lost themselves so they more than likely can't use any vocabulary and probably don't have any thought processes besides 'EAT' and 'EAT MORE'. there, they have an immunity because they are sub-equine to the point that the joke wouldn't even be able to perform a joke having no material.
