I also don't think Somber has any plans for going to Canterlot. That's FoE territory and Tenpenny is, I think, the only instance she planed to have Blackjack outside the Hoofington area, which itself happened as part of her decision to have Blackjack meet Littlepip the one time she conceivably could without breaking canon.

Yes, the missing days and let me tell you those two chapters were not some, but the favorite chapters of PH mostly because we got context on exactly how insane Blackjack is when put in the comparatively sane environment of the main Equestrian wasteland. Never mind Fore-Trekker great fanart which I post whenever given an excuse to.

I don't recall his execution ever actually being scheduled. He was imprisoned in Canterlot, had his Projects frozen, and was sentenced to die eventually, but there was plenty of room for her to calm down or change her mind and release him or diminish his sentence. But then Canterlot died.

Well I know Snips basically goes against it, but maybe ghouls haven't exactly lost their soul in the sense of it moving on, but rather that it's simply become disconnected from them? If it were something like that, then killing joke could possibly re-attach the soul rather than "bringing it back to stuff into its old body".

To combine our two discussions, what do ya think would happen if Boo went through the killing joke.

Is it possible to be so smart that it kills you? If not that, becoming something that better protects Blackjack (say, a rampaging fatty- she's had plenty of experience with those) or she becomes literally brainless.

She becomes so intelligent and arrogant that she gets disgusted with Blackjack's stupidity and leaves, and then she gets killed because she didn't have Blackjack's protection.

This sounds like a pretty reasonable assessment of what would happen (though I think Silent's cake-Boo is still a cuter idea heh). So yes, let's definitely keep her away from any killing joke.

That's my headcannon and I'm sticking to it.
Mostly because the double nature of Blackjack's crudeness mixed with Homages sultriness against Littlepips eternal shame and Glory's adorkableness.

Not to mention the simple idea of Littlepip of almost a month later finding out from the Orb with Celestia watching on that the memory was a four way. Even if it was not I can totally picture Homage knowing ahead of time she's going to be removing the memory so staging it so Littlepip thinks it was a four way.

I like the concept, but have trouble seeing it be both successful and filled with enough comedic gold to keep the joke running, since currently it's being carried by the very fact that she's not a Dashite and wishes to return to her prior form.

As to your first point that is valid he could have been smuggled out days before except I believe and I'm blanking where I read this that one of the memory orbs or Saingune or someone mentioned visiting Goldenblood in jail. As for Spec-Ops ponies loyal to him I'm guessing all of them were still loyal to him. But there is a difference between being loyal and acting on their own initiative to bust him out. The OIA is still kinda screwy in we don't know why and how Partypooper came to be and who the hell thought the Mane Six were conspiring to overthrow Luna. It's one of the bigger WTF's in that it makes no sense. Unless it was cover for the EC-1101 to never go off by purging the master list of approved users.

Said body being historically viewed overwhelmingly negatively by her people and likely still being divisive? Possible even having to pretend to be Rainbow Dash to pull the job off? I think that it's still "funny" enough, but it's not deadly enough for ordinary Killing Joke. On the other hand, the Joke at Hippocratic had no particular reason to be ordinary, considering the circumstances, and we've already some evidence that it might not be, so...

I sincerely doubt Goldie is in the Redoubt. I'm of the opinion that the Redoubt is merely a gateway or teleporter of some sort that connects to a secret Stable on the Moon.

Luna was upset about Littlehorn, but she didn't visibly collapse. Did it push her into the spiraling insanity of the war? Mebbe. Who can really say?

I see no reason PJ and KJ couldn't live in the same environment. The KJ might out-compete the PJ, I suppose... but no, Glory was explicitly touched by a KJ vine. PJ is an immobile, ground-covering flower. They're visibly distinct.

I really hope he's dead however, old Goldy has to many issues with possible Sue characteristics. A death alone in a cell lost and forgotten days after he lost everything fits him quite well.

Ugh, that gave me a vision of Goldie sitting in his second-story cell as the Pink slowly leaks into the cell block. The "lucky" prisoners with windows are the first to go; their cells become waterfalls of Pink Cloud as it rushes in and runs across the floor to pour into the lower level. The other prisoners are screaming and crying and shouting to Celestia for forgiveness while they try to climb on their furniture to stay above the gradually rising gas. But there's nowhere to go, and the first floor is eventually flooded. Goldenblood just looks up as the sea of thick pink starts to lap over the edge of the second floor and into his cell.

"So. You finally came back for me."

Let us not forget though that while he wouldn't know this... he is immune to the pink cloud. (Or aught to be unless not truly dying to it first removes the immunity)

I don't think the K.Joke has any control over its jokes after the target breaks contact with the plant. It's not psychically watching them; it just plays what it thinks is a funny joke at the moment. Is that giant train-pulling pony we saw a while back "funny"? He seemed to be doing okay.

The only suggestion we've ever seen that Joke's spells end when it stops being funny was from Blackjack's point of view, and she's not a clever pony. More likely she stopped exploding just because she'd used up all the magical energy the plant invested in that spell*. There does seem a malicious humor in saving one last bang for an opportune moment, but that's more narrative imperative than anything else.

* Transformations would, logically, require energy to cause or reverse, but there's no good reason it would require energy to continue once it's done. IN other words, every time BJ explodes, there's energy going out, but there's no continuous energy drain to keep Glory looking like Dash.

The more I think about it, the more I love this idea. Glory loves the Enclave. She's not a Dashite (a traitor who turns her back on the whole thing), but to save the Enclave from chaos, civil war, and worse, she has to pretend to be the most despised figure in her nation's history. Because as much as they hate Dash, she was the one who said "Come down from the clouds", and they certainly have no choice now.

"It took you two hundred years and a gigantic push, but you're finally here. And I'm here waiting for you. Welcome back."

And honestly, I suspect there's a carefully concealed grudging admiration for Dash along with the state-sanctioned hate. It's hard to truly hate somebody who feels so strongly that they'll walk into hell all alone for what they believe in.
