...i sell those too....unless i am using them to fix the armor that I gave to Veronica...

i really fail to see the appeal of power armor, you have like no speed in those things, even though you would expect for them to give their wearer no weight or even a weigh liminit increase when they are worn, instead you're hauling around 100lbs plus of weight even when wearing the bloody things... not only that you have to have the power armor training for it to even work anyway, which you can only get by (in New Vegas) retreiveing all the holotapes and stuff or enlisting the help of the remnants for hoover dam....

its a late game deal, although emptying out the BOS safehouse and selling everything is a great means of making a ton of cash quick, although it is easier to just make money at the ultra luxe, I have 2500 chips i need to cash out over there anyway... and lets not forget the old world currency, its worth a few caps...

I love walking around with all those fun armors although they are really limited since i use the medium grade armors... makes me want to i dunno, well I wonder the veteran rangers armor doesn't really protect legs unless there are plates in those denim jeans they are wearing... reminds me of my first time ever seeing the veteran rangers, you see I went and talked down the legate for wildcard ending and it was pretty cool seeing those Vet Rangers for the first time, I was all like... I want that armor! then i got it and gave it to boone... lol... shame I cannot have him and veronica at the same time, it would be better if I could use all of my companions all at the same time...

There's a mod for that! If you play on the PC, at least, there are mods to let you have as many companions at once as you desire... Can't say how well they work, since I tend to go solo in NV 'cos keeping companions alive takes the fun out of Legion hit squads, but I know they exist!

That's one of the common complaints by fans of the older games looking at the new ones. Power armor used to make you damn near invulnerable to small arms, making it a big late-game power boost before you went into the endgame. Now? You go through the quests to get training, find a suit, fix it up, carry the hundreds of pounds of armor, and cope with the halved movement rate... and it gives you what, 2 points better armor than good Combat? Personally I almost never bother with more than light armor in F3 or NV. Stealth, faster movement, lighter loads, and augmentation beat covering yourself with metal plates by a wide margin in the new games.

OAC:

I guessed as much, there si still the problem of getting boone and veronica on at the same time... boone is such a prude

although i guess if you convinced the BOS to patrol the highway for the NCR... it fixes their relationship....

it would be fun to walk around with lots of companions

SNDRI

I am glad you agree with me, the pros and cons do not balance at all with the power armor, the next thing you get is rad resistance, whcih if you get a rad suit, it really ends up taking far less weight even if you are carrying medium armor...

I guess that it the shit, bethesda does not want us to use the power armor...

which defeats the purpose of power armor. it kind of lost its appeal

One way to make power armor more appealing (NV only) is if you use a mod to remove or lessen the rule that 15% of damage always goes through, regardless of armor rating. Then heavy enough armor lets you shrug off most small arms (fitting perfectly with the lore of power armored soldiers being able to clear entire Chinese towns without taking injuries), but you still need to worry about high powered or armor piercing weapons. Best paired with one that decreases or removes the HP gain with levelups, so you and other humans remain realistically squishy instead of shrugging off multiple anti-materiel rounds.

Take a look around; power armor rebalance mods are one of the most common varieties, for just the reasons we've covered here.

I'm really sorry your birthday wasn't better, sir, though I'm glad we could help brighten it a little (I'm also sorry I can't do more to help about the money...)

See, and that's one of the things that bugs me about Fallout in general, but FO3 particularly. Even if you assume that the radiation is inhibiting fungal breakdown of materials, there's NO WAY that what you see in this game is two hundred years later. Fifty maybe, but 20 is more likely. Like you said, they wanted it to have a "right after the apocalypse" feel but they claim it's centuries later.

Have you ever seen a house that hasn't been cared for? Just twenty years of disrepair and it's a creaking wreck. Fifty and it's a husk. There's no such thing as a century-old structure that hasn't had maintenance, unless it's made out of stone (and no, concrete doesn't count). Even steel-framed buildings will be skeletal by that time.

Have you ever seen pictures of Pripyat, the city that was downwind of Chyrnobyl? It was abandoned in 1986, the day the reactor blew its lid and doused it with radiation, and the whole place was left to rot -- it's basically as close as we will ever get to having a real Fallout scenario. Today it looks very much like a Fallout city. In another twenty years the concrete buildings will start to fall apart, if they haven't already.

And what's with all the paper scattered everywhere? I can buy having papers on the floor in a sealed office that hasn't been open since the bombs fell, but you can walk into a ruined house and find paper all over the place that should've turned to mush ages ago.

I totally understand the whole art-over-logic concept that drives the whole fallout universe, it's just one of those things.

Actually, the numbers Mr. House gives are that the Lucky 38's defense systems were able to destroy 70 of 77 incoming missiles, and he claims that if he'd had the upgraded software on the platinum chip, he could have stopped them all. There are two craters at Black Mountain (one in front, one out back where Moe lives), one in Cottonwood Crater, one at Mesquite Mountains crater, Searchlight Airport, the undetonated one in Wild Wasteland... I'm not sure where the last one is, though.

See, this mother fucka knows.
But seriously, good catch.
I at least got the whole "missed a few" part of it all, right? xD

I never did give New Vegas the proper tour round every nook and cranny and only the other day went to Jacobstown for the first time ever.

I just don't like new vegas as much as I do fallout 3. I literally went to every location - both marked on the map and unmarked... across all DLC's, no less.

Somber has a total of 15 posts, and 70+ Brohoofs. Just thought I'd point that out. Also, one thing I hate about FO3 is how you aren't able to talk anyone out of a fight. It's basically simple as BJ's original phase. They're red? They're dead!

...still, judging by the size and damage around these craters, these were hardly more than slightly enhanced conventional weapons. Definitely not thermonuclear, and nowhere near to power of Hiroshima bombs - for example, there is no way in hell Black Mountain antennas would survive the blast if it was even a small, tactical 1KT nuke at that crater.

I have a feeling, that the Chinese nukes were in fact more like "dirty bombs", a crude construction going barely supercritical, just enough to evaporate the rest of the fission material and scatter it around. The blastwave and thermal components were minimal, it was the radiation that caused the worst damage.

And the state of the infrastructure, ruined buildings etc, is more a result of weather damaging them over the 200 years, and the remaining buildings are standing not due to some wondrous pre-war construction, but due to people making makeshift repairs with whatever materials they had available (and later losing them to mutants, raiders etc), so, e.g. towns like Primm or Goodsprings aren't in pre-war condition, they are just some 40 years after last, crude renovations.

The creators know this. They have admitted as much. They know what the future would actually be like after such an apocalyptic disaster- empty. They flat out said that this would be boring so they left ruined buildings in place of plains. It's like Fallout radiation- they know it doesn't actually work like that, so their radiation is different.

It's quite out of the way and unless you find the map that tells you where to go, you'll never find it alone by wandering aimlessly.
Well, you -could-, but it's still very, very unlikely that you'd stumble upon the hidden mountain path and follow it all the way up.

The first time I found Oasis was after I got the "explorer" perk that labels all the locations you haven't been to yet.

Speaking of out of the way? Agatha's house. I can totally see why she's been fine on her own in raider country for years; I saw the compass marker in passing, and ended up circling the place a half dozen times before finding a way in. Somebody without a pipbuck would never get there.

I found Oasis because I was complaining to a friend that "Compaired to NV, F3 is barren. Where are the nice green plants at? Discounting all the stuff growing you can pick there was still Jacobstown." And so she directed me to Oasis to shut me up haha.

@Kim

I tried to watch that video, and have been trying since the last time I posted about it pretty much, but with my internet running at 220kb/s actual download speeds, it's been impossible to do.

I got to around 20 minutes in where he's talking about shemales after the whole Mona Lisa thing.

Anyway, seemed interesting enough.

That is quite an odd line without context.

Context is he's talking about the arousal behavioural differences between males & females, discussing how where females are emotionally and mentally driven in their requirements for arousal, the same cannot generally be said for males, where visual stimulants are the trigger and how if a male physically feels aroused he'll almost always be mentally aroused as well, where-as this is not true in females.

Then he talks about how shemale porn is actually the biggest kink of all (anal, bbw, matures, armature - nothing else beats it).
This is because it combines all four major points of interest for males (even if we don't realise/accept it, they are as follows: Breasts, Legs, Feet... and dicks.) and yadda yadda yadda.

He then talks about how the Mona Lisa is a visual trick on the mind and shemales are as well with their having feminine bodies yet having a dick and this sets it up as the biggest turn on for heterosexual men as a whole, while homosexual men find nothing interesting about it.
