War... War never changes.
When the horsemen of the apocalypse rode forth and War scorched the planet with his sword of atomic fire, those trapped outside the Vaults could only envy those who were incinerated in the last moments of the old world. Those who survived in sheltered or remote locations had nothing to look forward to but a slow death by starvation and radiation poisoning.

And yet, for a time, one city seemed spared. Atlanta, the shining jewel of the South, stood untouched by the cataclysm. With its deep shelters and ample medical supplies, the populace seemed to stand a fighting chance against the ravages of the Great War.

But it was not to be. Mere days after War stayed his hand, Pestilence drew his shroud over the city instead, choking it in poison fog and sending terrible plagues to run rampant through its crowded fallout shelters. The city's buildings still stood tall, but they became tombstones for the millions whose subterranean shelters became their graves...

Oh, of course not. There have been several times when I replayed an incident, detail for detail, lasting several minutes, but they're never anything important. And even if they were, there's never been less than three years between the dream and the event, so I only remember the basics until it happens again even once I recognize that it's happening. And I can't plan for it because the dreams make no sense without context, and they could correspond to something three years later, a decade later, or completely fabricated. Matter of fact, I'm a bit suspicious at times whether the dream happens at all or whether some corner of my crazy takes a memory of the recent past, removes context, adds educated guesses about the near future, and inserts it in my long term records from years ago just to screw with me.

Meleagridis wrote:I couldn't see the mutants getting thrown into these plantations without a new source to create them. They still cannot reproduce, yes?
Loads of FEV in the area. Somebody would have exposed humans at some point, and from there they can take any relatively pure human and drop them in the Vat.

NoodleNugget wrote:@consumer/producer situation
The salvaged food would last a matter of months if not weeks, when divided amongst the population of the area; anywhere practical to salvage from would be cleared out immediately. Fresh meat needs to come from animals, who in turn need more food, so that's even less viable. The laws of thermodynamics are against you here.

House didn't have any sort of shielding tech. He had contacts in the Chinese military, and arranged from Vegas to not be targeted, so he could rebuild from there under his sole control.

It could just be me not knowing the canon better, but doesn't FEV effect people different depending on amount of exposure? Super Mutants are from being completely emerged in FEV, while Harold only had limited exposure and turned into a ghoul like creature that had a plant growing out of his head, before showing back up in F3 as a tree person thing.

Only if they get just the right amount of FEV that Harold did, which we may never know seeing how he doesn't even know how long he was in there before waking up in the wasteland. Also genetics, can't forget that.

FEV samples destined for the CDC that were misplaced and reproduced naturally in the swamps, infesting and mutating much of the wildlife. Humans in the region also mutate as well, with many transforming into super mutants and other creatures. The Atlanta shield was experimental and largely seen as a failure, hense it was not installed in other cities. It was only in the days before the bombs fell that the shield was attached to a dedicated shielded nuclear reactor rather than the grid that it was functional.

Well, whatever counts as "forward" in Fallout canon when FEV is involved.
Like I said, which I got from the fallout wiki so grain of salt with that, Harold got a certain amount of FEV and became a ghoul looking mutant(need to edit my post above) that over time had a plant grow out of his head and eventually becoming a tree person thing.

Yeah, in Fallout 3 you can find Oasis, which is where Harold ended up at and took root. I find it amazing he was able to travel all the way from the west to east by himself. Well, other then Bob, the plant growing on him.

And yeah, there's Rements armor in an unmarked place across the river where there's a ton of Deathclaws, at least two Mothers and an Alpha male.

The Legendary Deathclaw is in Dead Wind Caverns. he's guarding a death brotherhood member that has the unique grenade machinegun Mercy.
As for regular Enclave power armor you have to make Arcade very happy and he'll start his side quest.

Welp. I feel like a right jerk, missing Somber's birthday and all. Hopefully you'll accept some belated best wishes? Glad to hear your tooth problem is sorted out as well. Getting a filling is no fun, but neither is sitting around wishing you could pull a Tom Hanks and just bash the offending bicuspid out of your face with a rock. (Please, nobody try that. Castaway was not a How-To manual.)

Also glad to hear 45 is coming along nicely. Maybe now that the May of the Damned is drawing to a close you won't have to fight your way through it any more. (Also that means June is coming up, which means I'll be 23 in less that a week. That scares the hell out of me.)

RE: Fallout 4. Yes. A thousand times yes. Imagine it on the Skyrim engine. It would be GLORIOUS.

Closest thing to fruit he had would have to be his heart, which you had to make your way down to if you wanted to kill him. There was also this sap that would knock you out due to being poison.

I don't remember a helmet being with the one guarded by all those Deathclaws and if your speech is high enough they'd give you your own armor without having to kill them. And if you play your cards right you can get Arcade's armor.

I don't know for sure but the Swampfolk from Point Lookout would qualify as another type of super mutant. Statistically they have higher stats in game than all but the Behemoth and Overlord super mutants. Based on the data from http://fallout.wikia.com.

No, if I remember correctly, it was a combination of broadcasted shutdown commands (though I suppose that he could have gotten those from China) and lasers.

body piece is found on a dead prospector in an unmarked location across the river while the helmet is found in the silver peak mine near the legendary cazador.
Or you could just do the enclave quest, kill orion moreno and take it, talk him down and it's given to you, or take it when johnson storms out.

I'm going to be an utter bastard, and tell you that you're absolutely wrong and ask if you even paid attention to House as you did his line of quests?

House shot all but two one of them down. (Wild Wasteland trait - there's an unexploded nuke on the far right corner of the map. The official and always there one landed at Black Mountain but failed to destroy the radio station, somehow.) He would've been even more efficient had he had the mark 2 upgrade which was located on the platinum chip - which was sent to be delivered to him on the very day that the bombs fell.

On top of this, the reason you have to reboot his power network via the substation just north of Helios One is because while using his missile defence network he designed and built himself with RobCo technology, he overloaded his capacity to run systems at optimal levels and thus is the reason why:

1. Vegas was 'dead' for centuries until the NCR came along and he decided he had to risk running off the back-up generators.
2. He couldn't command his robotic army in fortification bunker - or give reliable combat protocols to Victor at Goodsprings.

It's implied the missile defence network used the same laser technology as the experimental warhead detonator found in The Lonesome Road (given that it used his energy rather then kinetic means, that is.)

Ugh the swamp folk. From what I understand they degraded into that due to 200 years of inbreeding plus the minor traces of radiation since there wasn't a nuke to hit near the area. And whatever the hell the necronomicon they was worshiping did to them.
Their strength was only due to that's how they was programed and over all they rub me the wrong way for being the same southern killer hick stereotype.

Microfusion cells, used as ammunition for pretty much every energy weapon larger than a plas pistol. Of course fusion is pretty much safe; if something fails it just stops working. Fission is the dangerous one, where a crack in the casing spews radiation and a stuck valve can make the whole thing explode.

Moodyman90 wrote:Ugh the swamp folk
Yeah, as far as I'm concerned they don't exist. No lore, no logic, no relation to the plot... they were just shoved in there as a poorly thought out disposable enemy type.

Microfusion cell - Any energy rifle be it plasma or laser.

The energy cells run more like batteries though, I reckon.
