I wish it wasn't true, I truly do, but they had a seek peek of it this past Monday. And from what I can tell from the commercials it's just MAD, but with that damn orange.

Buuuut there's no such thing as Pestilence. The four horsemen are War, Famine, Death, and Conquest.

Revelations never actually names any of them; the classic depictions of the four horsemen are a more recent construct, and almost always include Pestilence.

When the original doesn't actually exist, the most common misconceptions is as close as you're going to get to "truth."

Well, the Bible doesn't clarify what it says very well. I once went on a website that found that if you read between the lines, God is the greatest mass murderer in history, among other things.
I don't think religious theory was against the thread's rules, but if we go on a tangent about it, it may well be.

In the grand scheme of things, what we think we know are ideas we got from others.
Point in case, you'd be surprised how much Dante's Inferno has influenced our perception of hell, despite he made it all up. Nothing in the bible about different levels or details about punishment.

Nope, you just went with the more common pop culture version of them. The one that shows up in books, movies, comics, video games, just about everywhere somebody wants to go with horsemen that happen to come in a group of 4.

Unless there's a group of 4 Headless Horsemen/Hessians(sp) in which that would be awesome.

Maybe sooner, possibly tomorrow. We've gotten some work done today, but Somber had to leave a while ago while I'll need to leave shortly myself and have been stuck at a bit on page eight for over an hour now. Related to that, we may be making an edit to 44; Snipe says that there's no problem here, I say that there's a large problem, Somber had to leave before I reached this point, and Bronode's computer has been giving him so much trouble that he still hasn't reached this point. So... I don't know. I can tell you that the first 7.75 approx. pages are good, though.

Point proven; the pear is not the worst. Personally I liked that, seeing as I saw it in an art class long before I ever saw the image macro. The pear, I mean.

Also, thanks to all you editors for your contributions to the story.

I feel compelled to name drop Ursula Vernon, the creator of the Biting Pear of Salamanca, among other things. Sometimes about as bizarre, sometimes not, always interesting.

Well, the Bible doesn't clarify what it says very well.

The Bible only directly names one of the horsemen, and yes, the more modern depictions include pestilence, but the original version isn't really obscure or unclear at all:

...before me was a white horse. Its rider held a bow, and he was given a crown, and he rode out as a conqueror bent on conquest.
...another horse came out, a fiery red one. Its rider was given power to take peace from the earth and to make men slay each other.
...before me was a black horse. Its rider was holding a pair of scales in his hand...
(Followed by references to extremely high food prices.)
...before me was a pale horse. Its rider was named Death...

Actually, the only mention of disease at all is in that last bit -- Death is given the right to kill by "sword, famine, plague, and wild beasts".

Famine... means a food shortage...

So it would be the false prophet war famine and then death

Although with scales...those are often used the depict judgement.

Scales are often also associated with bartering(trade)
no trade = no food
famine (ta da!)

For the whole conquest bit, even then it can be sort of interpreted as pestilence.
the bow could represent how swift and how silently the diseases would kill(at least during that time period)
the crown... (you got me. no clue)
out for conquest. could be how diseases could take hold of towns at a time and spread like wildfire. as people would die pestilence would 'conquer'

who knows(can't we just enjoy an awesome introduction?)
