Picked up the Star Wars bundle because they're some of my favorite games ever. I got spares of KoTOR II and Empire at War. Anyone interested?

Ah, I get that.

Speaking of Inquisition, all of the game's tavern music is free right now. Since those are some of the best music in the game, I'm overjoyed.

@Republic Commando
Played an hour or two, intend on playing more. The engine is very good at making the world feel coherent - the damage modeling, the screen-splattering, all that makes the game much more engaging. Characters are likable, nothing original or all that interesting (at least so far) but the AI is damn capable, and their ability to revive you pretty much instantly makes the player like them. My only gripe so far is that the weapons feel unpunchy, and sometimes the default blaster makes me feel a bit too much like a storm trooper when it comes to accuracy (maybe I'm supposed to be burst or tap firing, but the amount of shots your average enemy takes to kill seems to make that a mug's game). I think that was very intentional, though, making the guns not the focus. It makes you rely more on the very good squad mechanics. The gunplay reminds me a lot of Metroid Prime, actually, another FPS that focused less on the shooting and more on other stuff. Less jumping and dodging in commando, and honestly fewer shooting options when you factor in charged beam shots and missile varieties, but still - nontraditional FPS that does a very good job at immersing the player in the world via the first-person perspective.

Agreed, the standard blaster rife really feels under powered, much more like an SMG than a proper rife. The first mission undersells it however, compared with some of the other weapons it's actually capable of taking down a standard battle droid in only a couple of shots, however against SBD's by yourself it's like pissing in the wind.

All those years spent in Oblivion/Skyrim/Fo3/NV payed off. Forgot keys from my office today, was given 'spare'. Apparently those were old spare, since it stuck. So I was sitting, my ear next to lock and I was listening for 'click' noise. Managed to pull key out after some time. I guess next level for me would be opening my office's door with only screwdriver and pin.

If you like Bast, you might want to pick up the Rogues short story anthology, 'cos there's a Bast-focused short story in there that I quite liked. There're other good short stories in there, too, alongside some mediocre ones.

I don't even know. I've had a package sent through UPS before, but we usually just get letters through the Battalion mailroom

...link?
I mean, I really don't care for Bast. He's like a man-shaped dog, but yeah.
Might just press on to Wise Man's Burden either way.
Here's a B&N link. I forget where it takes place in the timeline, but I'm pretty sure it can be read anytime.

EDIT: Also, it is snowing again, and will again snow over the weekend and Monday and Tuesday.

Does your commanding officer still bug you about getting a girlfriend?
My CO's never given a fuck. It was the battalion Ops SGM that I, thankfully, rarely deal with. In any event, I've a squadmate who's well-connected with the local escorts, so I can "find somebody" if they grow insistent.

Though said squadmate's relations with the hooking community have turned a bit sour after his burgeoning friendship with a semi-former 'companion' fell through and he dipped out on one without paying the other day (and is now currently being searched for by her pimp)

The main problem with this sort of simulation is that all it does is bacteria infection. Someone could have a cut aorta, loosing a pint a minute and 'eve' would be trying to figure out the bacterial infection that caused it. Computers are very good at doing exactly what they are programmed to do and completely rubbish at everything else.

Well, yeah. Give it several years, when 'Eve' has subroutines for injury, disease, congenital defects, genetic disorders, ect? That's when things get interesting. But technology being limited in its infancy isn't exactly a surprising thing, bruh

I have some great news; it turns out that I'm actually able to graduate high-school. The fun part is that my scores are so high that I managed to graduate without having completed 10th grade. Those are the words of one of my teachers.

I plan on going into web design or some other IT field, and very soon I'll have the money to build my first studio pc to launch my YouTube channel. My dream is to make people laugh and smile through my channel content.

Um... Has there ever been a game with a "stress" mechanic beyond "sanity meter depletes, you die"?

I'm playing Darkest Dungeons right now, it's fun. Weird fun. Like, your tank character may crack under pressure and become fearful, and you'll have to hand him over to the sanitarium for fixing...

Not sure if it counts but there's a game called social justice warrior or something and you argue with people over the internet. There's two bars in the game reputation and sanity and you drain one or the other to defeat you opponent it seems, I'd assume if your sanity drains it's game over. Jesse was talking about it on one co-optional podcast.

There was another game TB was playing called sunless sea on his stream. There's a terror bar in the game and from what he's said when it fills up the crew will start killing eachother.

Speaking of games with meters and mechanics and opponents, Republic Commando continues to impress. The dialogue is amusing enough to lend some levity to the tight, intense gameplay--I really like the weapons' reconfiguration thing. Neato as fuck.

I'm not sure if it was ruined or infinitely improved once I realized that Delta Squad is just the Ninja Turtles in clone armor.

It's the same sort of comparison with other similar cartoons (e.g. Street Sharks) vs. Ninja Turtles and other FPS's vs RC. Sure the squad might be cliches, but at least they're all different distinct cliches instead of just one repeated cliche.
