I wanna assemble a new rig, next week maybe.
Am I doing anything wrong here?

-CPU: an Intel I7 5930K
-Cooling for CPU: this one http://www.thermaltakeusa.com/products-model.aspx?id=C_00002028
-Motherboard: ASRock X99 Extreme6
-RAM: 4x8Gb modules of PC4-17000 DDR4
-Case: Thermaltake Level 10 GT
-Video: a Radeon R9 290X(this one? or this one)

From what I've been told and what I've read, latest-gen Nvidia cards are somewhat superior to AMD's latest single cards. There are comparisons between the R9 290X and the GTX 980, and the 980 is more power efficient, quieter, much cooler, and slightly more powerful.
From the costs of some of these products, the price increase may not be so much of a big deal.

I've went through some tests now. Apparently Nvidia has this Titan super card that exceeds 290X's performance about 2/3s of the time; but it costs about 2 times more. The setup I've made is kind of my upper limit right now.
