That coat, I daresay, is at least several of the bee's many knees. Shimmies, like the Dazzlings, constitutes mebait.RoboRed wrote:Dat coat.

"Mebait"
So...you're saying you like the Dazzlings, or just Adagio Dazzle?
*sighs* There's a trio of pictures of the Sirens that I really like, but I can't find 'em DX
Long black coats are very sexy...

Oh, hi, 2003. And that's even how it worked. Too bad planning for Tuesday never happened. Because my opinion is, again, that North Korea should end. They regularly kill people. Americans and their allies.
Their own people too, of course, but that makes them more a focus for the UN. Their actions against the USA make them a focus for the USA.
I don't think such a murderer nation state should be allowed to continue. There needs to be some plan of action of the United State government's to just end them.ObamaBush and Cheney getting drunk one Sunday afternoon and looking atwhoever the balls Hagel's replacement isRummy to say "Hey, let's fuckNorth KoreaIraq up." Would a bacteria or parasite that reprograms a person's brain be impossible?
Like... what if, one day, people were able to program plagues like they used to early computer viruses? If they created a sickness that did nothing but spread and cause people to misidentify rats as cats?
Or convinced everyone it infected that it was inappropriate to wear shirts?
Or made everyone slur everything they said?
I've never really seen that sort of thing in media before. What if it became the norm to have implants just to perform regular "virus scans", after which we'd need to check into the nearest clinic for the irregularity to be identified and purged?
Similar to how some of the early, "harmless" viruses would sometimes lock up or fry computers, it could do the same to human brains.
I think I'd be interested in reading a story about something like that, if anyone's heard of one...

Oh, hi, turning offhanded jokes into the always-welcome bitching about OIF and OEF. What would the internet be without it?Icy Shake wrote:Oh, hi, 2003. And that's even how it worked. Too bad planning for Tuesday never happened. And there wasn't even anyone taking the place of China there.
Iraq and the 'Stan were both cleared top-to-bottom in a matter of weeks. The ruling governments were crushed and the armies scattered to the fucking wind. Then we stuck around to "reconstruct" and (with the help of good ol'-fashioned obstructive ROE's) the insurgency proceeded to grind away via indirect tactics while (as in Vietnam and every other engagement since WWII ended) getting blown the fuck away in every single rifle-to-rifle engagement.
But, you know, knowing things is boring. Let's all laugh at Bush some more.

Unrelated, but Frost and a few others, I think you might be interested by the setting of the RPG "Eclipse Phase".
I have the hardcover rulebook, but the e-books are actually free, under Creative Common => http://robboyle.wordpress.com/eclipse-phase-pdfs/

If you get to be flippant, so do I. (Edit: And let's not forget that I was agreeing with you on the relative ease of the knocking-DPRK-over part.) Whatever it takes to remember that it isn't over once the people in power have been crushed, and that what was sold as a few hundred-billion dollar expenditure (to say nothing of casualties) ended up with an on-budget cost of several times that, and interest and other indirect costs bringing it into the trillions. In terms of outcomes, we've been screwing up the follow-through too frequently for comfort in major interventions after Korea (Persian Gulf I being the biggest exception I can think of). I'm not saying that nothing should be done, but walking in, fucking shit up, and then either not having a plan for what happens afterword or just leaving isn't a great idea. And messing with something inside China's sphere of influence has costs and risks of its own.Mister Frost wrote:This is the sort of problem whose 'plan' to solve could just involve Obama getting drunk one Sunday afternoon and looking at whoever the balls Hagel's replacement is to say "Hey, let's fuck North Korea up." China would snap up the chance to eat North Korean territory for dinner after we'd deposed its leaders. Let them handle the clusterfuck and we can just walk away from the explosions without flinching.

I like to imagine that Spongebob was trying to hit on her while temporarily forgetting his own sponginess.
Also, on yet another non sequitur, today I discovered that clown porn is a thing. The shit that I have seen will never be unseen.
