I think I've figured out what annoys me the most. 

Being stuck in a small space (ex. Truck cab) with multiple children.

Being stuck around children who are not your own should be classified as a form of torture...

For all we know she could exit the chamber, Titan's second in command could yell "Stop! I'm not sure what happened, but the chamber's clearly defective. Guards, please escort this potential follower to routine processing." and Ava could barely manage "N-no, I'm... I'm a demon n-now..." as she's lead out.

Because honestly, from what I've seen from the comic, I'd expect something like that over a full scale assault on the followers of Titan.

On the flip side, I'm rather expecting some sort of vindication after a thousand-something pages of buildup. One can't judge based purely on experience and what's been seen so far, after all--I've survived everything I've ever done so far, for instance, but that doesn't mean I'm immortal.

I'm talking from a character perspective. It's less like the idea of you surviving so far leading to you surviving forever, and more like you waking up tomorrow and donating all your money, guns and organ collection to the homeless and joining Greenpeace.

Ava is not a monster.

But Wrathia is.

And Wrathia made the serum of little-known effect. It already made her look a bit like Wrathia--a temporary 'adjustment' of behavior isn't surprising; especially considering that, before they reached an understanding, Wrathia would seize control from time to time momentarily

I did read the first 60 or so pages of AD in about a minute, and while the art looks nice, the story doesn't really capture my attention

I always figured that was just her mouth.
If she was able to take full control, even for a moment... bam. Steak knife in the throat. Jump into traffic. Any number of deaths...

Limited control, perhaps, but control. This is the demon-Queen that made alchemical potions that could enforce reincarnation rather than cessation of existence--a little something-something to bolster her control is far from out of the question.

I don't really think it's what's happening, either, just that it's a possibility. What appears to be happening, rather, would be that the potion is a good old-fashioned psycho-serum mega-power-booster ("of doom" optional)

They picked their occupation. They took their classes and maintain their certifications. I've never really understood the kind of respect they get for doing what they've chose to do. That they somehow get a sense of fulfillment from.
Their jobs are tough and they get treated and paid like shit for them. But they continue to enter the field. We still don't have a deficit of them that might lead to a better environment in the field, so the worst we have is a high turnover rate.

So yeah, I'm not particularly a teachers' advocate.

I'd have to disagree. A firefighter chooses to become a firefighter, and s/he chooses, every call, to run into a burning building to pull people out. Yes, it's voluntary; no, they aren't forced into it; but it's hard to argue that they deserve some recognition for their works. Likewise (though with less physical danger, naturally) teachers undertake a mentally taxing and stressful job for disproportionately poor benefits and pay and a general lack of recognition--with the added benefit that every single problem a child has at school tends to be blamed on them, as if a teacher is to be blamed for not noticing one student's personal problem with a ridiculous number of students to look after. Considering how absolutely vital the work they do is, yeah, I think they at least deserve a pat on the back and a discount at Texas Roadhouse now and again.
