Potentially. Nothing confirmed just yet, of course. It's been quite shady, though definitely Fallout related.cb5 wrote:The next fallout game.CamoBadger wrote:What's this for? That tumblr removed most of the stuff it posted. Kinda strange, because some of it was fairly interesting, even if fanmade.

Nope, if she was to have killed the lion with anything other than a gun than she'd be labeled as a crazy bitch who's willing to put her life in danger just to satisfy her need to kill animals.
Other than not saying a thing about it there's no good way this could have gone for her. Her only saving grace right now is if it comes out the lion she killed was a known man eater and needed to be put down. And even then people would complain because the lion was only killing people because we're taking over their territory.

I draw your attention to the end of this article. Whales explode, guys. They explode naturally.
Also, in Ireland's past, during a nasty fighting period around Dublin, when everyone was starving (the Irish are starving a lot, apparently, either for food or for the home rule sun or both), a bunch of whales beached themselves and everyone fell upon them and ate them right then and there.

You know what I so want to see from a fallout game? A android hero that actually questions it's directives, and/or a hero that actually talks. The enclave do have androids and having a hero that is questioning their morality of the orders it's receiving. What I mean by that is you start out as just following the enclave's orders and that you get to choose whether or not to follow the orders.Ketchup wrote:Potentially. Re: [Official!] Project Horizons Comment Crew Chat thread.
The more I think about it, the more I want an almost roguelike format for a fallout game. Not in terms of one-death-only hardcore, but in terms of somewhat randomized elements for stuff, maybe FTL-esque quests that pop up, not necessarily any main story - or possibly several possible main stories and ways to end the game satisfyingly, from saving the world to settling down to getting your final revenge. Replayability is already such a huge factor in the games, and I'd like to see one that emphasizes that strength. I think it'd be fun, especially with a triple-A budget.

Re: [Official!] Project Horizons Comment Crew Chat thread.
That would be kind of fun. One of the biggest ways they could do that is have certain areas only unlockable if you do certain story line events and sometimes if it's a side quest it doesn't pop up at all. Like if you need x item to complete y event sometimes in some playthroughs you won't need x item cause the person will automatically have the item and the room where x item is in is only unlockable during the event and in playthroughs where you don't need x item the room isn't even there. So that some playthroughs your entire game only lasts a hour, other playthroughs it take a hundred hours to complete. Also once in a while a entire story arc isn't needed and sometimes it takes forever to complete.Overlong Analysis Cobalt wrote:The more I think about it, the more I want an almost roguelike format for a fallout game. If you're doing the main quest and in order to progress you need to get a druggy cleaned sometimes he'll go okay and just go to rehab, other times you need to complete a quest to get him to go to rehab or such.

Re: [Official!] Project Horizons Comment Crew Chat thread.
I'd LOVE factions that actually fight each other over territory rather than random Squad A fights random Squad B at random Point C. Say there's a small fortified outpost; depending on how badly the faction needs it, they'll fight for control from the owning faction, and it happens whether or not the player is nearby. The more territories the faction has, the more powerful their attacks can be, and this would be either good or bad depending on the player's alignment. I guess it would be like  Sid Meiers: Pirates! in its implementation.

Re: [Official!] Project Horizons Comment Crew Chat thread.
Since you're all so interested in it, I'll post the list of pros and cons for the legitimacy of 2299 from the reddit megathread.
Mostly quoted from previous posts. Trying to summarize 2000+comments! Not relating to twitter or tumbler.
AGAINST------------------------------------------------------------FOR-------------------------------------------------------------------
- "ZeniMax registered both Wolfenstein's and The Elder Scrolls' domains through Corporate Domains Inc, while TheSurvivor2299 was registered with GoDaddy.com. Meanwhile, ZeniMax uses its own DNS servers for its registrations (ns1.zenimax.com) while TheSurvior2299 uses a separate, self-branded server: ns1.thesurvivor2299.com. Furthermore, the whois page for TheSurvivor2299 is also missing Corporate Service Company's Corporate Domains Inc promotion introducing ZeniMax's known, legitimate domains." Should be noted though that "elderscrollsonline.com uses different IP as well as Name server than all other zenimax games."
- "Domain name resolves to 5.133.13.121 which has a reverse lookup of d13121.vibiznes.pl and that's some hosting company in Poland."
- "The server is also configured differently from other Bethesda hosts"
- Website scripts or HTML seem to change as people talk about it on Reddit:
"-Using the same google analytics account that fallout.bethsoft.com uses. Anyone can copy and paste this.
-Using a free, open source countdown script:Â http://krzysztof-furtak.pl/kk-countdown-jquery-plugin/Â (note that it used to be named 'bscountdown.js', until someone said that they believed it was a hoax due to that name. it was shortly thereafter changed to 'bsccountdown.js")
-The clarification of the date format in the source of the page, which ANYONE can see and will obviously check. This is suspicious because we made a big deal about 11/12/13 already passing, so they saved face by sending us a message and saying it was meant to be dd/mm/yy. This is bs.
-The "mysterious" audio files being in the source. This is just to get people to google/investigate this information, only to further the wild goose chase this person has created.
-The last thing that made me suspicious of this site is the RTMP server comments at the top. First, why even have this at all? People were suspicious about it being an IP address in Poland or something. This is when the 'european/american' server comment was added to the source. This guy is just reading reddit and making changes to foolproof this scam as people report inconsistencies. This is honestly not sticky worthy.. but the hype train has already started which is exactly what they want. Nothing is coming on December 11, 2013."-Either someone happens to remember (or is making up) links that point to the now defunct prepareforthefuture domain's image directory. That means that they're been aware of these addresses for going on six years.
- NEW from megathread 2 "Search for a trademark name containing fallout, latest result" Fallout 4, registered 11/14/13 is shown as registered to Bethesda Softworks LLC
- "VGAs are in December (Dec 7). Bethesda announced Skyrim there 3 years ago".
- "Blizzard also used GoDaddy leading up to their announcement, instead of their usual Network Solutions. They did so to add doubt, and it ended up being legit.
- "Bethesda has flat out denied every Fallout4 hoax in the past, but this time they said "we don't comment on rumors."
- "(The site) remaining so stable in all of this is a good sign. If it's a hoax, the hoaxer is paying a lot of money for this much bandwidth."
- ETD Fallout-related tease on twitter in January. In Nukapedia interview said any hints he hears from Bethesda will be tweeted. Then Yesterday he tweets this. NEW And more tease with this.
- "Yesterday afternoon, there were commented-out links to the old "Prepare for the Future" website, a domain that, like you said, no longer points to the old viral campaign. .... These links are currently pointing to the fallout.bethsoft.com page, and don't actually go anywhere. This, to me, means one of two things:
OR -This is actually Bethesda's hand at play, and the links are pointing to prepareforthefuture.com as a placeholder and hidden domain that users cannot access."
INCONCLUSIVE......................................................................(essentially its not the guy Bethesda would hire to code 2299.)
- For: A ton of Fallout/Bethesda related audio, pictures, links and stuff in the source code. Also seems to relate to Boston MA area. Most posts are about this. See:http://fallout.gamepedia.com/Blog:News/The_Survivor_2299
- For:"All links with http://prepareforthefuture.com/ redirect tohttp://fallout.bethsoft.com/eng/home/home.php. http://prepareforthefuture.com/ is owned by ZeniMax"
- For: "Domain name resolves to 199.15.249.30 it's in the same subnet 199. and it points to Maryland Baltimore. Who ever made the thesurvivor2299.com site is keeping a very steady eye on the discussions about the code and webinfo."
- For: "ZeniMax Media (parent company for Bethesda Softworks) has just registered a new trademark - "Void Engine powered by id Tech""
- For: Skyrim release 11.11.11, Fallout 3 teaser timer counted down to 5.6.7
- Against:Â from MEGATHREAD 2Â "This website is mentioned in the code of the thesurvivor2299.com website:http://krzysztof-furtak.pl/, as requested by some redditors I have translated it:Â https://imgur.com/1vaaipI"
-Note: "this code wasn't found directly in the code of thesurvivor2299.com, but in the code of a third party javascript plugin called kkcountdown (/assets/js/bbe160d01998eaa70d6b42091f1a10bd66.js) that plugin is under under GNU general public license"-Note "Thats not an "against". I've seen plenty of programmers of the "professional" variety use multiple dashes. Its really down to personal preference."
- Against: There is a function "74aSliderLaunch" in the source. Javascript functions/variables MUST start with a letter or an underscore. There are also other errors in the code that would leave me to believe that this person is an amateur, and not a professional. The callback function for the countdown (what happens when timer reaches 0), will not doing anything because it doesn't reference the correct element. HTML comments only need two dashes (<!-- comment here -->) and not three. These are not mistakes a professional web developer would make."

Re: [Official!] Project Horizons Comment Crew Chat thread.
@Stone
I think my main concern about this would be that it might give the player something they feel obliged to babysit (if their favored faction started losing ground), or rob them of fights they might want (if their faction starts winning). It also could give too easy a way for players to change the wasteland to a civilizedland - just kill a bunch of camps and your dudes move into them, and hey presto! Now, if this was more confined to slices of the overall gameworld, with the fighting factions not seeking universal domination but instead fighting over specific zones they wanted to control, I could see it being a lot more effective. There'd still be areas under nobody's control but Lady Anarchy, filled with crazies and mutants and ghouls and surprises, but there'd also be post-apocalyptic warfare between factions, for those looking for that. Just smaller factions, unlike the whole New Vegas thing where everything was all about the NCR or the Legion all the time.
@Scyto
Hah, that last "against." If there are amateur errors in the code, that's points me to thinking it's Bethesda, not the other way 'round. =P Zing! In seriousness, though, I think part of the reason why Bethesda would say "No comment" even if they're not doing this one is because they ARE going to announce Fallout 4 soon, and even if this isn't them it's still good for the hype train, not to mention that saying, "No, this isn't us," would get Fallout out of people's mind again. IMO, anyway.

I like that idea better. Have "home bases" that can't be captured, and just have outlying outposts be vulnerable to attack and capture.Overlong Analysis Cobalt wrote:@Stone

Those were actually over a year old questions x3Last wrote:I know :P I went through their tumblr. You asked quite a few questions. Not really a fan of the recent adventure stuff but I really like the way he draws.
@Stone: (titanic) Not even sure wat...
@EP: (hunting) Personally find it quite peculiar that we put us above everything else. That we have a right to kill and do as we please as a sort of "master race", that as long as the majority agrees with us, we can't do anything wrong. That we have a "right" to do what we want against any other living being. That said, we humans generally only ever realized we fucked up after it's too late, because we're generally too thick to bother thinking unless it's absolutely critical. Or we're forced too.
On a unrelated side note, Psychonauts s a very... particular game.
@OAC: (Pizza) *Snicker* "Pizza" is a synonym for something in particular in my rp group x3
