Man, that show's weird. I found myself enjoying it just for its A.) admittedly interesting (and funny) characters and B.) mind-bendingly surreal, clearly-made-on-crack plots and events

Oh, thanks.  Yeah, I've always thought that "highly flawed impersonation of a high-profile figure followed by a full frontal assault" was a particularly stupid plan for changelings.

Though a friend of mine didn't think that this would work, since the ponies would go on a mad changeling hunt, I countered that their best information on changelings probably comes from changelings planted for that purpose (what "Cadence" "learned during her captivity", for instance).  Unfortunately, we had to part before we could finish the conversation.

Of course, the smartest decision would have never involved an invasion at all--infiltrate pony society at the highest levels, from Cadence to Shining to, eventually, all of the Guard and most Gub'ment officials. Subtly steer pony society away from ever learning of the Changelings' existence, and rule over them until the end of the nation.

Then Discord sends some schmuck a pair of shades that can see Changelings through their disguises, and the next thing you know he's running around, kicking ass and pining for bubblegum.

I was actually asking frosty with regard to his areola on tuna anime.

I'm not sure. On one hand, and I find Accomplishments of Testosterone's characters to be pretty interesting and well-rounded so far; even the most minor of characters are fairly fleshed-out. They're nearly all believably stressed-out and close to despair with the situation (contrast with many protagonists in both Eastern and Western works who simply don't ever, ever get discouraged, to the point of insanity). The action's pretty well-done and solid, and the musical score is quite epic indeed. 

On the other, it has some of the problems you seemingly can't escape in anime--while dumping all the exposition and worldbuilding at once onto the viewer is poor form, Albert of Thermopylae, like its fellows, tends to move ahead with the story without giving sufficient information as to what's even happening currently, which can leave the viewer confused as to what's happening until afterwards. They also tend to overdramatize a great deal, from ordinary speeches and salutes to, as mentioned before, emotional breakdowns. It's not a total deal-breaker, but it's something that gets under my skin a bit.
