Well, Pacific Rim actually was a quite awesome movie. Although I found myself wondering that, since the giant robot put too much 'neural strain' on the pilot (necessitating two neural-linked pilots) why they didn't make them smaller. That way, 'Drift Compatiblity' goes right out the window and anyone qualified to fly a jet could pilot a Jaeger--plus, perhaps some MMA training so they can actually take the giant monsters in hand-to-hand without excessive flailing. Plus, the requirements for energy (and stress on the components) would decrease quadratically with the size decrease. In the end, you have Jaegers that are tougher, faster, and can be built by the dozen rather than, at most, thirty or so per (superpower)nation

While they may have been a bit excessive in size it could have been that they needed to use the bigger ones. I mean Gipsy got tossed like a fucking rag doll by the category 4, if they were smaller it could of caused more fatalities to the unit they already suffered.
I do have to ask though, what you think of the old Russian tank of a Jaeger?

Oh, I don't object to him. He's one of the best parts of the DLC. I mean they send in squads of extremely nimble, smaller Jaegers with a focus on teamwork and a combat philosophy somewhere between a modern infantry squad and  prehistoric plains hunters (because tell me that a squad of 75-foot robots using plasma-cutter spears to take on a Kaiju like a lion wouldn't be fucking sweet)

- Okay a squad of Jaegers would of been fucking badass especially if they had plasma spears, or maybe those claws that Eureka had but like electrified or something that way when the squad had the Kaiju surrounded one could of flanked around it and jumped on top of it to plunge the claws to the things face.

- Keep in mind that, due to the square/cube law, the mini-Jaegers would be disproportionately strong, fast and durable compared to their larger brethren, and could afford to have more (and more varied) weapons. Imagine one hanging back with a "sniper rifle" (Naval-grade railgun) while another goes in with a "flamethrower" (meltagun-grade plasma weapon) and the others let the gunners soften them up before going in with the close-combat techniques--just imagine four Jaegers applying a Krav Maga-style takedown on some bitchass Kaiju

So I went to throw some trash in the dumpster, and there was a cat on top of it trying to get in. I went to lift up the lid, and the fucker screamed at me. That was the moment my eyes adjusted enough to see that it wasn't a cat, instead I had just pissed off a raccoon.

BTW I had a friend who befriended a raccoon once. It trundled up to him because he had food, and let him pet it. He's sort of like a Disney Princess.
How To Train Your Dragon 2 looks good. Loved the first one. It had dragons and vikings in it, so I probably always was going to, but it really was a good film.
