"Aside from water, food, not been killed, tortured, mutilated, raped yes. I guess sleep is most valuable thing." Novae counted and then smiled at Quiver.

[Ketchup]

Quiver chuckled softly.
"I never said it was the most valuable thing."
He takes his armour off and stretches his wings before lying down in a corner on his belly.
"Not too uncomfortable. Better than outside."
He says with a smile.

[Katarn]

Novae shakes her head. "I can make it cozy even outside...not with all critter, that would want eat me, but still." She pulled bedroll from her backpack. "I can tuck it like a pillow, if you want and your head will rest on something soft."

[Ketchup]

Quiver shrugs.
"Sure, you can do that if you want."

[Katarn]

"You're saying this like if I'd slept on it alone, while you'll be sleeping on floor." Novae frowned, while tucking bedroll, to make it more pillow-like.
"There." She placed it near Quiver's head. "Let's try this now. Soft enough?"

[Ketchup]

Quiver puts his head on the bedroll, leaving enough room for Novae to lay next to him.
"Yeah. Cozy."
His wings twitch a little.

[Katarn]

"Something wrong?" Novae looked at Quiver's wings.

[Ketchup]

Quiver follows her gaze to his wings.
"No. No, nothing is wrong. I'm just... tired. Yeah."
He says quickly.

[Katarn]

Novae lie down next to Quiver. "Are you sure? If I can do something to make you feel better, just say."

[Ketchup]

"Thank you... but I don't need anything."
Quiver puts his wing around her.
"It's just so crazy... the Wasteland is in a state of danger now that couldn't have been so before I left home, and it has only been a month. If I hadn't left home, I'd be dead and so would they. It's almost like some sort of fate."
He says, trying to change the subject.

[Katarn]

"You think fate or something...or someone gathered us in that camp? Planted thought about leaving your Stable in your head. Sent interesting bounty request to Jayne and whatever brought others there was somehow connected?"

[Ketchup]

Quiver shakes his head.
"I really don't know what to think. But, it's an entertaining thought that we were fated to meet each other, isn't it?"
He says with a weak smile.

[Katarn]

"Yeah. Maybe we were. maybe not." Novae nuzzled Quiver. "What's important - we're together right now."

[Ketchup]

"Yeah. That's very important."
Quiver kisses her on the cheek, then smiles weakly.
"I just hope nothing changes what we have... too much."

[Katarn]

"Everything changes...I just hope we could adjust to whatever fate or whatever have for us."

[Ketchup]

"We'll just have to see."
He put his head down on the makeshift pillow.
"We should get some sleep."

[Katarn]

"Indeed we should." Novae shifted her body ta get in comfortable position under Quiver's wing. "It's good to have you here, Quiver. Where would I get so fluffy pillow and blanket?" She showed Quiver tongue and chuckled.

[Ketchup]

Quiver just closes his eyes and smiles.

[Katarn]

So does Novae.

TIME SKIP: EARLY MORNING

Viktor woke at the crack of dawn. He gently lifted himself and Clock, whom he cradled in one arm, out of the hole. He carried her over to the communal table and sat on the ground. When his legs were properly folded he laid Clock on his lap so she could continue resting.

[Ketchup]

Quiver awoke early the next morning, Novae still sleeping under his wing. He watched her sleep soundly for several minutes with a slight smile.
She trusts me. Good.
He gently puts his ear to her neck, listening to her heart beat.
Life is too fragile. Too short.
"Make the most of it."
He said in a barely audible whisper, still listening.

[Katarn]

"If you suddenly turned into vampony and want to bite me in the neck, wait till I fully wake up...please..." Novae muttered with eyes closed and yawned.

[Ketchup]

Quiver chuckled quietly as he took his head off of her neck.
"If I do, I'll let you know. Sorry if I woke you up."

[Katarn]

"By biting me, no less..." Novae muttered and smiled, finally open her still sleepy eyes. "It's okay." She locked her hooves on Quiver's neck, pulled him little closer and rubbed her head on his neck. "You're such good pillow."

[Ketchup]

Quiver smiles.
"Well, thank you. I've always wanted to be a pillow."
He says in a joking tone.
"Sleep well?"

[Katarn]

"Yup. You?"Novae yawned, finally waking up.

[Ketchup]

"Yeah... we did a lot of flying around yesterday, so I was pretty tired."
Quiver says, returning Novae's yawn.

[Katarn]

"Flying, running, doing other stuff. We can get up and check on others, if you want...or lie here for a while and enjoy our rest."

[Ketchup]

"...We really should check around. Make sure everything is okay."
Quiver says after some thought.
"Not that I don't enjoy just resting with you."

[Katarn]

"It's just blunt flattery." Novae got up and stretched herself.
