I mean, it's neat that they accomplished what they set out to do and the characters and backgrounds are pretty but... this fandom, geez.

I saw a post about that on EqD. I got as far as 'blind pegasus who talks to Celestia and changes the course of equestrian history and also invents winter or something' before I lolnope'd out of there.

Snowdrop Review:

Mostly I focus on the story (which made me cringe) and Snowdrop as a character (who also made me cringe).

You pretty much nailed my points. I went into how it completely violated the 'show-don't-tell' rule in just about every way/shape/form and the voice acting was so obviously amateur and continually dropped diction.

It also overused flat/dull pantone coloured OCs like that even worse fan animation a while back (seriously, why do fans love the most off colour OCs compared to how pretty and pastel the show is?). You could also obviously tell which background characters were background characters and which were guest shots of ma frennzzz.

That ending, though. Holy cow, give us an overlong intro with excessive flowery language to overobscure the theme and then give a weird as fuck pointless melodramatic death ending with only scant amount of time to let us get to know the main character. Ughh

You can tell it was entirely animated in sequence (a huge mistake in visual directing) because the classroom scene contained the most visual detail and the least plot then everything else after is either one character monologuing or flatponies in a row.

Then ban everyone who doesn't weep like a child at your livejournaly projectings. Preposterous!

The ending is 1000 years later or whatever after she died. I really don't see what they were getting at with it, though. Snowdrop made 1000 years worth of snowflakes or something?

Yes, it threw show-don't-tell out the window and instead went for using character exposition to explain every little tiny detail as quickly as possible.

Honestly, I don't know why off-color OC's are so popular. I have to constantly go into the pony creator to mock up the color's I want to use so I know they'll fit. If they don't, I refuse to use the colors because it looks ridiculous, I like matching colors and complementary colors.

And I know nothing about animation or creating actual visuals and filmings or whatever, so I'll leave that to you.

And yes, how dare anybody say anything bad about this obviously flawless and inspirational story! They must be daft!
