Any of you heard of StarForged? It's in alpha right now through steams new early access feature. It looks to be sci-fi minecraft with better graphics, physics, and you actually have to engineer the buildings otherwise they'll collapse

That site set's off all kinds of bullshit flags in my mind. To start with, they keep going on about how they can't show any pictures of the actual tech or mention even the basics of how it works for "security purposes," when I've seen early prototypes of this stuff and full explanations of the concepts behind it in everything from news posts to the more recent high school science textbooks. Then the first half of the text is just a shitty advertisement, and the second half is all a first-person accounting of how he totally has all these military connections, no really. Not to mention claiming to make things completely undetectable rather than simply transparent, not bringing up any mention of mechanical sensors, and then tossing in an offhand mention of how 'I have a countermeasure so I'm not afraid of other people developing it'.

So yeah, the tech is realistic and if it isn't already practical will be in a decade or two, but I very much doubt this guy has any involvement in it. The real stuff is being played with by scientists, not peddled by bullshit artists.

So yeah, researchers have totally made small objects nigh-invisible to a narrow band of wavelengths of light, or a moderate range of sound frequencies (while underwater). This guy heard about that and decided to claim credit for it without knowing what the fuck he was talking about.

So I suckered was given the privilege of pre-reading the next story by the guy who wrote Two Nights in Hoofington. (Coincidence here, it's a comedy that has nothing to do with Project Horizons.) The story was short, only 4,700 words. It took me over 3.5 hours to find (and occasionally google) all the mispellings and grammar errors, and then give my best critique on story structure and stuff. (I actually wrote more than three sentences! Go me!) O.Hinds, Bronode, Snipehamster, I can now give you about 100x more honest respect than before for your work on PH. And it is real work spending all those hours.
