"I do trust you Miri," Charcoal said with a small smile. "Nothing is wrong, I just...sometimes I don't think a pony like me is supposed to be in a relationship," he said dejectedly.

"No, but it's guaranteed to be safe and clean," the mare pointed out sternly.

"Why not? It's better than being alone, right?" she asked and nudged him softly. "And it comes with certain, consistent benefits."

"I guess we could look around. But at this point anything is better than being outside at night."

"Right fou--d-dad?! But you can come inside Tenpony and stay there."

"Eh, I don't like that fancy place. Let's just find room to stay."

Shadow looks back at the pack, and his spare tendril pinches in between his eyebrows. He sighs"Fine."He gives the mare the caps for the room Fuckin' rip off.

"Thank you. Room 26, second floor," she told Shadow and passed over the key. "Please enjoy your stay."

Eve approaches the mare behind the counter after over-hearing the prices for a room. She may not have been happy with the price, but it was better than sleeping outside. She puts 100 caps on the counter.

Charcoal blushed. "I...um...yeah, there is that," he stuttered.

"I...it's not that I like being alone...I just don't think I really deserve it," Charcoal said after a moment.

His Tendril takes the key"Thanks, have a nice night yerself, ma'am."He starts to walk towards the room.

"Thank ya ma'am. Ya have a wonderful evenin'."She smiles then follows Shadow.

The mare smiled and gave another key to Eve. "Room 32, third floor. Please enjoy your stay."

"Why would you think that?" Mira asked, still confused. "You're nice, you're handsome, and you kill Raiders. Sounds like someone who deserves a little lovin'."

"Mira...I," Charcoal sighed. "Whenever I get close to someone they get hurt Miri," he said quietly, looking away.

"T-thanks." Eve takes the key, and quickly heads up to the room, locking the door behind her.

"Why do you think that? You're engaged and she still seems alive and well."

Searchlight looks around the building for a room that would be able to keep them safe from bloodwings during the night.

"All the pain I put her through, because I'm unstable. I'm dangerous...and...you ended up getting hurt too when I tried to get close," Charcoal said quietly, unable to look at the mare due to his shame.

Shadow walks into his room and closes the door once Cherry walks inside."Not as cozy as home, but it's somethin'."

Cherry nods and drops her gear in a corner"Yeah, it's not bad. It's even got a shower."She smiles

"Ya can go first, love. Ah'll keep an eye on little Flower."

"All right."She walks over, pulls down his mask and gives him a kiss."Ah won't be too long."She walks into the shower and turns on the water.

He smiles, then places the pack on the bed and starts to place his gear in a corner.

There are about 10 rooms on the first floor, all looking like they're safe enough.

"Me? Char, if friends is what you call close then I'm still in trouble," Mira joked and giggled.

Searchlight turns to Jayne and Novae.
"First floor seems safe enough. So would you two like to share a room, or have ones to yourselves?"

Charcoal tried to bury his head under his forelegs. "I...that...that wasn't what I meant Miri," he said softly. "Back...back before the attack...I...I had a crush on you," Charcoal said awkwardly. "I...I was going to ask you out too. I...I had saved up enough caps to buy you dinner at Tenpony then..." his voice trailed off.

"I don't see much trouble sharing one room, since there isn't many of us."

Nods. "And in case of trouble we could defend ourselves more effectively."

Mira froze and stared at Charcoal for a few seconds. "You did? Really?"

"Alright then." Searchlight said as he entered a room and resumed drinking his whiskey.

Charcoal looked at her for only a moment, his cheeks beet red. "Well...yeah. Sorry, it's stupid. I shouldn't have brought it up," he said, looking away as he kicked himself internally.

Novae rolled out both bedrolls for her and Jayne and start preparing to sleep.

Jayne sits beside Search. "Do you even feel anything?" He said, as he nodded at bottle.

Mira stared for another second. "Why didn't you just tell me?"

Searchlight looked at Jayne, then looked at the bottle. "Sometimes. It takes a lot more than this though."

The grey stallion let out a sigh. "I was afraid. I didn't think a mare like you would have wanted anything to do with me, not like that. I...I was afraid it would ruin our friendship," Charcoal said quietly.

"If I didn't want anything to do with you, I wouldn't have hung out with you every day of my life," she replied with a roll of her eyes.

"What were you doing since..you know..you kinda died?"
