Mirabelle put a hoof on Charcoal's shoulder. "It's okay Char. She'll get over it when you come back safe and sound."

[Tytan]

"Fine! Do it! But this is your one free pass. Do whatever you want. Blow up a raider camp. Murder a foal. Fuck Mirabelle for all I care. But I don't want to here one word about it when you come back."

"I..." Charcoal stuggled for words but couldn't find them. Charcoal hung his head and didn't say a word. He continued to walk, but he had slowed a bit.

[CamoBadger]

Mira scowled as Clock trotted off and mumbled to herself. "Bitch." She trotted beside Charcoal.

whisper to Charcoal:

"I know Miri...it just...it hurts," Charcoal said quietly, his voice clearly deatailing that he was upset.

[CamoBadger]

"It'll get better, trust me," she told him quietly. "It always does."

[Tytan]

Almost as an afterthought Clock yells back, "And if Charcoal doesn't come back there won't be a force in the everafter or tartarus that'll stop me from taking out every ounce of my rage on your hide Mirabelle! Raiders will be jealous!"

Mira's head snapped to Clock and she stomped toward the mare. "Do you have a problem, cunt?" she growled. "Because it sounds like you have some serious issues, and not just with me."

Something broke inside charcoal when he heard his fiancee threaten his best friend. He stopped walking and started to shake slightly.

[Tytan]

"I've got lots of issues you bitch, thanks for asking! Foremost for the moment being that you want to take the love of my life on a suicide mission!"

"Oh, I'm sorry for giving him the chance to kill the raiders who destroyed our lives," Mira snapped back.

[Tytan]

Clocks voice drips with sarcasm, "Two ponies and a balefire bomb versus a raider camp. Oh yeah, that sounds super safe. Why don't we go sell some tickets to the local orphanage so they can watch the action?"

"What part of the Wasteland is safe to you?" Mira argued with a wave to the city around them. "It's never safe here, EVER! If you want him to be so safe then how about you cut off his balls, drag him back to your precious tower, and lock him away for his entire life?"

[Tytan]

"You don't think I know it's dangerous? Who do you think all those injured ponies crawl to when a mine blows off their leg, or contract a disease that's melting the skin off their bones, or are dying of taint poisoning? I know just as well, if not better than you how dangerous the wasteland is!"

"I'm not saying don't do it! I'm saying do it safer! Two ponies against a raider camp is insane. Using a balefire bomb, completely bonkers. You've waited this long, why not wait a few more days until our friends are feeling better. Our friends which you exposed to nerve gas by the way you fucking loon! Give us a week, and you'll have enough backup to take out the camp without a fucking bomb."

[CamoBadger]

"No. NO!" Charcoal shouted. "CLOCK, I HAVE BEEN SEARCHING FOR THESE FUCKS FOR THE LAST EIGHT YEARS! THEY KILLED MY FAMILY! THEY CAPTURED AND RAPED MY BEST FRIEND! I AM NOT WATING ANOTHER FUCKING DAY TO KILL THOSE FUCKS AND THERE ISN'T A DAMN THING YOU OR ANYONE ELSE CAN DO TO STOP ME!" Charcoal screamed in his rage. His left pupil burned the color of red hot steel.

“AND YOU MIRABELLE, HOW DARE YOU CALL HER THOSE THINGS! SHE IS THE ONLY REASON I SURVIVED THE LAST COUPLE MONTHS, THE ONLY REASON I’M NOT A ROTTING CORPSE OUT IN THE WASTES. SHE IS THE ONLY REASON THAT I EVEN FOUND YOU AFTER ALL THESE YEARS!” He then became completely silent and trotted away down an alley.

Mira just stared at Charcoal as he walked away, then turned to Clock and scowled. "Look what you did," she growled at her before following Charcoal. "Char, wait up!"

[Tytan]

Clock fell silent. Charcoals outburst had drained the fight right out of her. Her heart still beat rapidly from adrenaline, but it felt sluggish... heavy with despair.

Then Mirabelle spoke up and the rage boiled back up, "Me?! This is all your fault! Stay away from my fiancee!"

Clock gave chase down the same alley.

Charcoal trotted up to a dead end. Unable to go anywhere else he picked a corner and curled up in it, shaking silently.

[CamoBadger]

Mirabelle walked up to Charcoal and knelt down. "Char? You okay buddy?"

[Tytan]

"Back off," she growled at Mirabelle.

She knelt next to Charcoal, "Char, I'm sorry. I just don't want you to put yourself in needless danger. I'd go with you, but I'd feel a lot better if we brought everyone else with us."

[CamoBadger]

"Clock, stop it," Charcoal said quietly. "I'm not putting everyone in danger for this. It is Miri and my problem, and we are going to slove it without any help."

[Tytan]

Clock was about to protest further, when she reconsidered. She realized she wasn't going to change his mind. "I guess I can't tell you not to," she said solemnly. She smirked a little, "I already gave you your hall pass after all."

She put a hoof on his shoulder, "Just... be safe Char. Come back to me in one piece."

"I will Clock," Charcoal said quietly.

Charcoal watched Clockwork as she went back to the others.

"I don't know about that," Charcoal said to Mirabelle. "You want to just head straight there? I'm itching for a fight, hell, almost anything to get my mind off of that argument."

"That works for me, we'll get a headstart on finding them," Mira agreed with a grin. "Let's get going."

The group arrived at the gate to Tenpony.

"Alright, here we are," Mira told Charcoal as a large shopping center came into view. "If they aren't here now, they should have a few scouts here to check their traps around midnight," she explained and looked up at the near-dusk sky. "That's a bit of a wait."

"We should find a place for everyone who can't go in to rest, too."
Quiver looks around for any intact buildings nearby that could be used for shelter.
