And yes, I very much am like that. I do push myself to extremes to prove things like that.
(Such as the time I had my foot crushed by a pallet that weighed over a tonne yet came back to work after a single day off, which was my scheduled day off anyway. Or more recently, as in right now, where I've hurt my achilles heel yet still continue to limp around work and work strong.)

I also do things like carry pallets around with ease when other people struggle to pull them along (no to little stock on them, mind you) and doing tasks that take the strength of two men to accomplish as a normal feat for me.
It makes me feel useful.

I'm sorta similar in that regard. Even when I feel horrible I insist on working. My usual mindset is "I don't have time for this, I have work to do!" A week or so ago my neck locked up on me and I was still trying to get stuff done.

My mindset is that if I can carry on, I shall because there's no point in stopping.
Not so much that I don't have time for it, my work isn't time critical since I only work retail, but still.
My other argument is that I ignore pain. I ignore pain and just deal with being injured, that's all there is to it.

Like I say, I'm limping everywhere but I don't make a big fuss out of it. Other people do, but I don't. Kind've funny and also really nice to see other people caring about my well-being more than I do myself.
