Dunno yet. I've only read only the first story yet ("The incredibly dense mind...").

It seems like the actual main story, at the moment of its conception, was more of a side-track [well, the idea *was* started with just a ME3 Gamerpoop reference...], and only then became the main one.

I really stopped being entertained by it around the time it stopped being an ostensibly comedic slice of life and started being a hyper-dramatic wangstfest clusterfuck where no one can throw a stick without it landing on (and shattering) someone's hopes and dreams. Plus, it heavily features Fluttershy, who retains her canon characterization as a ludicrously fragile, annoyingly shy, and everyone gives her what she wants and praises her as a fucking angel whenever she starts crying.

Fluttershy, if for a moment we are speaking as though she is real, is an amazing person, and much, much better than most.

She's a good friend, and a decent person. She keeps to herself. She's a damn sight smarter than she generally lets on. She tries hard not to be a burden to others. Yes, she is almost always being put far out of her (very small) comfort zone, and reacts poorly when this occurs, but I know many people like this, and do not despise them for it. It's a simple matter to get people like them to come out of their shell, at least in my experience.

That said, I haven't had any caffeine in... a while... and you might say that my jimmies are a-rustlin' at the mo' about various things unrelated to this.

I like Fluttershy because of her compassion and warm personality, what I don't like is her meek attribute. I generally associate meekness with failure because such people may be unlikely to drive home a point or course of action when needed, when aggression of some sort would count, however I do admit that there are some exceptions. What I look for in people is the better attributes of Rainbow Dash, Applejack, and Twilight, because those things help to get shit done.

In light of recent reveals and events, and the seventeen-day wait until the season finale, I think we'll have a well-aged shitstorm brewed by the time that goes on the air. I'll be watching intently. Regardless of what happens, this is gonna be gud in one way or another.

Fluttershy is nice and like the other ponies, quite cute. But her attributes make her very fragile and not prone to act on her own. I think she would make a good friend if one could get her to warm up to you. She's very loyal and protective when the situation calls for it, and while her super-shyness can be annoying at times, I just think her good nature is her best quality, one you don't find everywhere.

She openly mocks Pinkie and Rarity's respective life choices (which I can't say I disagree, but that's another topic) while she herself is a shut-in who does nothing but take care of animals who can't take care of themselves, somehow, despite being perfectly healthy.

She's the kind of person who has no ambition to ever do anything productive, to ever contribute to the progress and betterment of herself and society, and has all the courage of a fucking field mouse.

She takes care of animals, yes. She's quiet, yes. The main feature, however, is that (mainly due to ponies' freakishly huge eyes) she's cute. As far as most people are concerned, An ugly person who takes care of animals isn't "kind", they're a crazy cat lady. An ugly person who's quiet isn't "shy", they're a loner or a freak. An ugly, quiet person who knows random trivia about odd and useless topics like fashion seeing isn't "smarter than she lets on", she's a nerd and a wierdo.

Be honest: she would not be the fandom's little sweetheart if she were't "adorable"

I don't get why everyone says ponies are cute, either. They have massive heads and enormous eyes. That doesn't make them cute, it makes them mutated.

All she seems to care about is fitting in, and making other fit in. It's hard for me to buy that she has real ambition when she insists on kissing the asses of anyone who she perceives as her "superior." To her, there's no such thing as equality: you're either a glamorous, well-mannered (read: prissy) aristocrat, or a filthy ruffian who should get back to the dirty fields and let the "proper ponies" talk.

A quote straight from her mouth:

"A unicorn's not a unicorn without Style!"

Let that sink in for a moment. If you aren't obsessive about your appearance and acting how she thinks you should act, then you're not worth talking to. Hell, you're not worth Looking at.

Nothing says "good influence for little girls" like "this is how popular people act. This is what popular people look like. Not only is popularity extremely important, it's what defines you. Social standing is everything"

Plus, she's an overly-dramatic, overly-emotional drama queen

Rarity's character could've been used better this season, but she's a character I kind of like and dislike at different times. I like her because she's smart, considerate, and crafty, but I dislike her because of how she's written sometimes, which doesn't portray those aspects, but sometimes the exact opposite. (Like in the camping episode. Really, Rarity?) I'm not exactly a fan of her personality type; her inflated sense of vanity clashes with my pragmatism. My personality has less in common with Rainbow Dash's, rather than Rarity's, however.

Yes, Dash can be quite egotistic, but one can hardly blame her, between her (impressive, even for a nation where Horn=OP as all fuck) talents and how eager those around her are to shower praise. She can be quite insensitive, but nowhere near the degree of Pinkie (whose examples of her idiocy would fill pages) and no one seems to complain about her. Rainbow would likely develop a bit more of an even temperament if she were influenced by a normal group of friends: Y'know, the sort that actually state their irritation at her ego-stroking rather than trying to humiliate her, because she, like a great many people (especially young, talented people) resist those who set themselves up as authority and stands against those who they perforce as "enemies" (i.e., Mare Do Well) but would cut off her left wing for her friends.

Essentially, Rainbow is a hotheaded egotistic.... Like millions of other people, who also tend to grow out of it and mature.

I identify more with RD, Twilight, and Applejack, but I have traits from all of the mane six. I'm determined, aggressive (though not as much), and a tad competitive like RD. I'm studious when I physically feel like reading as well as factual like Twilight, though not as obsessive about being correct. I'm hard working when I can put my mind to something and I try to be up front and honest (unless the situation calls for deception) like Applejack. However I'm also random and sometimes excitable like Pinkie Pie (Ask Frost or anyone I hang out with.) and I have a very gentle side like Fluttershy. I really don't identify with any one character.

Smarter than she lets on? Hardly, she's extremely simple and single-minded. She even lacks much of an internal sense of morality, I thought, given how easily she turned into an unrepentant jerk after iron will. The girl's funny in the head.
Tries hard not to be a burden? Nope, she's just shy. She sees herself as helpless and needing to be saved, per first Discord episode. She relies quite a lot on the kindness of others.

And, just like Rainbow Dash, she never learns. Never really becomes better. Same lesson every freaking time.

I disagree. She has shown multiple times to have quite a lot of knowledge that she just doesn't want to share, for various reasons - from the freaky sewing knowledge to knowing damn well that Discord is trying to play her for a fool but carrying on regardless in the (ultimately correct) belief that kindness will win out. She's seen as a fool, and is not one. Why'd she turn into a jerk? Because she knew how helpless she could be in the face of social pressure, and when offered a chance to change that - one that seemed to work - she embraced it wholeheartedly, hoping to change her life for the better. She has an internal sense of morality - probably not a code, but more of an actual sense - that was repressed temporarily. I have known plenty of normal people to get like that without the seductive bullshit of a self-help book. And she does want not to burden others - that's the root of her shyness, not a symptom of it. Her "Oh, um, please, if you don't mind" routine isn't a ploy or an act.

As for her not learning, well, that's certainly true, especially in episodes in which she is not the central character; but this is an unfortunate problem with the show itself, and one with people - willing your personality to change does not work very well.

Mr. Frost's arguments are almost entirely subjective, and show more than a little emotional involvement that I am not going to touch with a 39.5 ft. pole. However, I would point out that the kind of person who keeps to themselves and is kind to others is the sort of person we need more of, not moralistic crusaders out to better society with their strength of will and aggressive, zero tolerance, zero empathy, and zero compromise mindsets. And, for the record, the exceptionally shy people that I am friends with are not "cute" in the usual sense of word by any means; frankly, several of them were not blessed by the gene pool with even average looks, by most Western standards. Holding her "cuteness" (which he denies exists, anyway) against her is as absolutely ridiculous as holding a lack thereof against others.

Iron, well, I must point out that a small degree of meekness is somewhat of an ideal trait in a citizen of an ordered society; and aggression will rarely drive a point home outside of combat. The movers and shakers of the world are crafty, not ballsy; and while it can take a great deal of courage to use craft, and sometimes aggression is part of that, a measured and thoughtful response will win over rage in most situations. You want diplomacy if you want to make a difference, one way or the other (look to Rarity). I suppose what's ultimately needed is steadfastness, in peace and in war (look to Applejack). Does Fluttershy have this? Eh. Sometimes, if her friends are on the line, yes. Not so much for herself. But if she was perfect, she wouldn't need friends (...and she'd be a really bad Mary Sue, come to think of it).

Fluttershy is not my favorite pony, but I honestly do not feel the same dislike or rabid hatred that other feel towards her.
