She nods"Sure, ah'd like that."

Charcoal sits quietly cleaning his rifles. After a while Scorch lands next to him. He reaches out with his hoof and scratches the phoenix's head before putting his rifles away. He stands up and trots out away from the others, taking a seat on a rock, not wanting the others to see him in a moment of weakness. He sits down, the large boulder between him and the others and begins to remember his family and all he had lost.

[Ironmonger]

"Nozzing yet. To be perfectly honest I don't have much of an idea of vat to look for."

[Guest]

"Well, that makes two of us. Any of those folks y'all fought have anythin' interestin' on'em?"

[Orm]

"So after that, I lost my job. Apparently I wasn't focused enough, and my boss fired me. I always hated that guy. Fortunately my wife found a job soon after, the problem was it wasn't enough money to support all 3 of use. So I did the one thing I thought would have been the best at the time, I joined the military."

[Guest]

"Oh, ya did? Um, mind if ah ask what ya did?"

[Orm]

"I was in a small squad, just four of us. All we really did was patrol, I hardly had to fire my gun."

[Ironmonger]

"All I got vas some bottle caps. I zink Charcoal got a varmint rifle." he says. He growls in irritation. "I'm having trouble wrapping my head around the logic of zese...raiders. If vun is going to go into combat against anozzer, vun should at least have zeh intelligence to be properly equipped. Bolt-action versus semi-automatic, zeh victor is clear."

"Oh, that sounds interestin'. Still must of been scary at times."


"Ain't no reason ta Raiders. They just do thin's with no thought"He growls"just like rabid beasts. And there's only one way ta deal with a beast. Put it down."He glares.

[Orm]

"Of course it was. We were at war, we could have been attacked at any time, and you always had to be ready for it." Searchlight stares at the ground. "It's the things they don't prepare you for that scare you."

[Guest]

"L-like what? if ya don't mind me askin'."

[Ironmonger]

"And for zat...zey vill die. All of zem. It is just a matter of time before common sense and tactics catches up vith zem and decides zey lose."

[Orm]

Searchlight looks at Cherry without saying anything for a moment before finally speaking. "Tell me Cherry, have you ever had to disobey an order while in the Enclave?"

[Guest]

Cherry thinks then shakes her head"Not that ah can think of, sir.... Well, maybe once in academy but that was just stayin' up past curfew with a girl friend of mine..." she slightly blushes.

Shadow nods"Yeah, they sure will.*He starts to play with his combat knife*And that day can't some soon enough."

[Ironmonger]

"I have never had any experiences vith raiders up until now, but from vat I hear about zem zey cannot be good for industry. Eventually I vould like to form some sort of kill-team to hunt zeh fiends down. Vith zeh proper equipment zey could be viped off of zeh face of zeh planet."

[Orm]

Searchlight laughs slightly at what Cherry says, but stopped when continued talking. "Well, we were patrolling one day and we found this zebra mare. She was scared, tired, and babbling something in zebra we couldn't understand. My our squad leader ordered me to kill her, said she was a zebra spy. The whole time I was thinking, 'what kind of spy carries around a wooden hoe?'"

"Ah take it ya refused?"

Shadow shrugs"Ah've found a knife works just fine, when it comes ta raiders."

[Ironmonger]

"I vould expect zat your unique school of magic helps vith zat task. I am speaking from a Germane perspective, my kind cannot use anyzing of zeh sort."

"Really? Must suck if ya get cornered." he continues to play with his knife

[Orm]

"Couldn't, the other 3 in my squad weren't exactly reasonable when it came to zebras. They said there wasn't room in the military for 'Stripe Lovers'. So I made my decision, and I stick by it."

[Ironmonger]

"Depends. In a fight vith just close-combat veaponry and no magic, zeh Germane will almost alvays vin. Pure Germane ponies are very poor at spellcraft but have very powerful and precise telekinesis. All I vould have to do if I got cornered is pick up zeh aggressor and fling zem over a building."

[Admiral Stoic Rum]

"Yeah if you thought I was bad, well they were just down right crotchety." Painkiller clears his throat after a moment.

"I've been checking the area for traps. Let me know if you see anything."

[Guest]

"Ah, telekinesis huh? Must be fun ta have."He wipes some dust off his blade and holsters it.

Cherry looks shocked, then nods"Oh, ah see..."

[Ironmonger]

"I am an exception since...vell...I'm sort of royalty. Not all Germane are as large and strong as I am." Out of habit, he scans the area around him to make sure there is nothing hostile. "Vat kind of utilities does your magic lend you, if I may ask?"

[Orm]

"When I returned to base I tried to keep what happened a secret. I said we got attacked by cloaked zebras, and they took down my squad before we could do anything. The story worked for about a week, until my commander found out that they were shot by weapons that weren't used by zebra assassin's."

[Guest]

"Number of thin's. Manipulation of darkness and turnin' it inta weapons or camouflage as well as other thin's. Can't do a lot yet, but there is a lot fun ta be had once ah can."

"Oh.... That's uh, interestin'."

[Tytan]

"Traps? No offense, but I don't think traps will be an issue, at least not in here. There were, what, six or seven of them here. As opposed to the dozens of them last night. If they were taking this place they wouldn't booby trap inside the fence, they'd mine the outside."

[Orm]

"Then he said I was going to be sent home."

[Admiral Stoic Rum]

"Well I wouldn't go near the main entrances, that big guy went through the wall for a reason I am sure. Besides, that wasn't much of an occupation force. Loot the place, booby trap it for anypony who gets curious and leave."

[Ironmonger]

He grins and nods. "Generally being a pain in zeh ass for zeh enemy, my favorite kind of tactics." He remembers something is father told him. "Zeh only type of magic I know of in Germaneigh is...vell, I don't know zeh proper term so let's just call it Industriomancy. Power over zeh earth and its ores. Zeh only practioner is Lord Wrought Iron of Germaneigh.
