"Why would I lie to you?" Charcoal asks, slightly insulted. "Painkiller insulted Scorch, and had the nerve to say it was his right to eavesdrop on Clock and I."

Scorch just shakes his head, having already been told about the conversation.

[Ironmonger]

"I am not calling you a liar, it is just a mandatory statement."he says, attempting to reassure him. "I have a feeling zeh Doktor is very angry about somezing, or somezing was done to him in zeh past, and now he is projecting...or somezing. I am no psychiatrist." he sighs, taking a slightly pleading look. "Painkiller is not a bastard despite how he acts. He is a good pony deep down, even if he can be troublesome at times. Also to be fair, I insulted Scorch too, and I need to apologize." he turns to the balefire phoenix. "I am sorry I called you a fiend, I vas speaking out of anger. Do you accept my apology?"

"Kaw," Scorch replies, nodding his head. "Squawk squwakity kaw?"

"He says it's alright, and how was he supposed to know that Painkiller would pass out from fright?" Charcoal translates.

"I never said he was a bastard, but I think he need to learn some manners. It is hard to get respect when you never show any."

[Ironmonger]

"He reminds me of vun of a forge-master of Germaneigh. The type only to show respect if he sees or knows that you vill do something properly."The huge unicorn chuckles. "Heh, maybe he vas born in zeh wrong country. Anyvay, I hope you don't hold it against him. I vill see if I can talk some sense into him or at least find out vhy he acts zeh vay he does. I don't like it ven I see two of my friends fighting."

"Don't worry, I'm not usually one to hold grudges that easily unless raiders are concerned," Charcoal says with a smile. "And tell him that Scorch didn't mean to scare him so bad, didn't you buddy?"

Scorch nods in agreement.

[Ironmonger]

Cast Iron nods. "Affirmative. Now, I must find zeh doktor before he does somezing he shouldn't. Not zat he vill, but better safe zan sorry!" he says, quickly trotting off.

In a slightly better mood, Charcoal continues to wander through the town, Scorch perched on his back.

[Katarn]

"If I pour flamer fuel on him, will he shine brighter or just burn?" Novae appeared in front of Char, looking straight at Scorch.

Charcoal just stares at the strange zebra. "Why don't you ask him? I'm pretty sure it would just make him mad at you though, whoever you are."

[Katarn]

"Oh, good..now i have to find some fuel..."
"And I'm Novae...I might saw you in that camp before. What's your name? I never saw bird like this. Is he really on fire? Does it burn? What he prefer to eat? Nice leg."

"Slow down. My name is Charcoal, and this is Scorch. He is a balefire phoenix. No, he technically isn't on fire, that's just when he is angry. Fire doesn't burn him, and thanks I guess," he says in response.

"Squawk."

"Scorch says hello."

[Katarn]

"Oh, you can communicate with him? Or you can just guess what he's trying to 'say'?"
"And hello there." Grin. "Never saw creature like...you."
"Does he eat...um...whatever predator birds eat or he have unique diet?"

"He can understand us just fine and I can understand him. As to what he eats...radhog was you favorite right?"

"Squawk. Kaw kakaw squawk squawk."

"Right. He says that radhog is his favorite, but he likes radigator, rats and radroaches as well."

[Katarn]

Novae looks at Scorch, tilts her head a little. "Kaw squawk." She tries imitate Scortch's manner of 'speaking'. "Kakaw squawk."

[Guest]

After leaving the ghoul Flower turned the question to her dad. "Being gone is be-"

"No."

"But he sa-"

"I know what he said. He was just trying to make himself feel better about losing his family or not being able to save them, I don't know which."

She weakly nodded. "Okay."

Scorch tilts his head to the side then turns to Charcoal. "Squawk. Squawk squawk squawkity?"

"He wants to know why you were babbling gibberish at him," Charcoal says with a chuckle.

[Katarn]

"I don't get it...how you can understand him? And If you can understand him, how you couldn't understand me?"

[XT Vengeance]

"Because you just said some random words to us. Don't be disappointed though, we have been traveling together for over eight years. You could say we have had time to practice."

[Katarn]

Sighs. "Any place i could find such mighty fella like him? I can image...me...mighty bird beside me...and whole world on fire....mwahaha--" Choked on her own laugh.

[XT Vengeance]

"Don't try it. Balefire phoenixes rarely get along with others. Scorch and I are the only exception I know of, really."

[Katarn]

Continue coughing. "It's..okay...I'll find a way...or burn out trying."
Shakes her head. "I'm sorry, I can easily be carried away, when I found something or someone exciting or awesome."

[XT Vengeance]

"Just be sure to treat them as an equal. Scorch is smarter than a lot of ponies I have met."

[Katarn]

"Most ponies I've meet want to throw rock at me, for having stripes. So I guess he's as smart...at least as you."

[XT Vengeance]

"I guess I should take that as a compliment. Regardless, it is nice to have someone intelligent to talk to when we are out hunting. Why would I throw rocks at you though? Because you are a zebra?"

[Katarn]

"Well duh. Most folks I've meet blames me for what happened. Like it was I personally set this land on fire." Novae snorts and stomps.
"It's kinda unfair..and makes me, sometimes, actually set something on fire, just so it won't be some baseless accusations."

[XT Vengeance]

"I agree that it isn't fair. You had nothing to do with the war. I wouldn't suggest setting things on fire though, that will just give them a legitimate reason."

[Katarn]

"Yeah..maybe you're right. Doesn't mean it ever stop anyone." Sigh.
"You're cute, mind if I pet you?" Grin.

"What?" "Squawk?"

[Katarn]

"What 'Squawk' 'what'?" Looks at pair slightly confused.
