Painkiller shakes out of his shock outside of the General store's door slamming in his face. He did not expect the shopkeep to react so excessively to his appearance. "Well, I can't say as I approve of this town at all." He says aloud in deadpan. His stomach gurgles again, and he reaches into his saddlebags for the canteen. His hoof bumps the roasted radroach meat from two nights ago."Well, better than nothing." He winces as he chews the crab-like meat.

[XT Vengeance]

"I...I really wasn't either, sorry." Charcoal starts to blush slightly in embarrassment, remembering the events of the previous night. "I"m sorry about last night, I shouldn't have shooed Scorch off and I really should have been more careful," he says quickly.

[Tytan]

"No, I'm the one who tripped us both."

[Ironmonger]

With a hoof, Cast Iron rips open a can of Cram and gobbles it down. "Vere I come from, zeh only vuns very, uh...big on eating mannerisms are zeh nobility, sometimes not even zem. Zeh usual mindset is "Refuel yourselves and get back to vork.""

"To be fair, if I hadn't panicked like I did, it probably wouldn't have happened."

[Tytan]

Clock chuckles nervously, "We keep getting in to these kinds of situations, don't we?"

[Admiral Stoic Rum]

"Where I come from food consumption is regulated an therefore to be savored and cherished." Painkiller counters, the texture of the meat is squishy with a little bit of a stringy quality. "Don't get me started on Reproduction."

He smacks his lips as his stomach decide it is content, takes another swig of water from his canteen.

"I wonder when it will rain next."

[XT Vengeance]

"Yeah," he replies, rubbing the back of his head with his good hoof. "Yeah we do." He starts to say something, but stops, deciding it probably wouldn't work anyways.

[Tytan]

Clock tries to say something, but she's tongue tied. Eventually she spits some words out, "Do you want to get something to eat?"

[XT Vengeance]

"Alright, I'll leave you-wait what?" he says in surprise. "Yeah. That sounds like a good idea." he replies, hardly believing what just happened. "I have some food, but it isn't all that great."[survival]"I haven't really been out looking for any herbs yet, but I'll do my best with what I've got."

[Ironmonger]

[Intelligence 7]"Zat implies issues vith supplies. I take it zat is zeh case?"

[Tytan]

"Y-you can cook? I thought you were a raider hunter or something."

[Admiral Stoic Rum]

"From what I've seen here, there is not much in the way of supplies anywhere." Painkiller deflects. "Why do you travel?" He asks, point blank.

[XT Vengeance]

"Well, I didn't always hunt raiders. I used to live..." Charcoal stops mid-sentence, remembering the nightmare he had just that night. He shakes his head to clear it. "My mom taught me when I was younger. She was really good at living off of the land, and she used to always say that you can make almost anything taste good with some effort."

"I've been travelling around with Scorch for a little over eight years now. It helps us keep going, you know? It helps to mix it up a little every so often," he says with a smile.

[Ironmonger]

Cast Iron growls a little, knowing what he is doing, but decides to let it go."Boredom, curiosity, and force of habit. Ven vun grows up vith a nomadic lifestyle it is hard to stop."

[Tytan]

"Wow, your mom sounds pretty amazing. My mom didn't teach me anything like that. She did teach me some stuff from when she... from her old job."

[XT Vengeance]

"She was," Charcoal says quietly. "So what kind of food items do you have? I have a couple cans of Cram and several cans of baked beans. Anything could help."

[Tytan]

"Well, I got paid yesterday. Other than that no."

[XT Vengeance]

"That's alright. I"ll try to make this work," Charcoal tells the mare, trying to think of something he could make out of the food he had with him.

"Uh, let's go find a spot where we can get this ready."

[Tytan]

"Maybe outside town, I don't think they'd appreciate a cooking fire on mane street."

[XT Vengeance]

"Good idea," Charcoal says, as he begins to walk towards the gate. "So, you have any cooking experience?" he asks, trying his hardest to make small talk.

[Tytan]

"Not a lot, and I've regretted it pretty much every time I've tried. I'm not sure how I managed it, but I screwed up heating beans."

[XT Vengeance]

"Heh. I guess you could say that is an accomplishment of its own. Let me guess, you heated it too fast?"

[Tytan]

"An accomplishment in failure I guess. I dunno what I did, but they were pretty much inedible. I only say pretty much because Vik ate the rest."

[XT Vengeance]

"Well, at least they didn't go to waste," he says as the exit through the gate. He sees a nice spot to set up around a few old bushes. "Here we go."

Charcoal pulls off a couple hoof-fulls of dead branches with his mechanical hoof. He sets them down in a small pile away from any other plants. "Scorch, you mind?"

"Squawk." Scorch jumps down and lets out a small flame, igniting the branches.

"Thanks."

[Tytan]

"Yeah, and it says a lot about my cooking abilities if you consider that his diet is mostly tin cans, gem stones, and cram."

[XT Vengeance]

"Well, we can't be good at everything can we? Me, I am terrible with anything other than a rifle. Just awful," he replies, placing the cram in the pot, moving it around and breaking it a part with a spoon.

[Tytan]

"I honestly find that surprising. How come?"

[XT Vengeance]

"I don't really know. I just can't use them. A rifle just becomes an extension of my hoof. I just know what to do. Anything else, nothing. I've tried learning, but I usually ended up hurting myself or running out of ammo before I could get a good hit in on the target."

Satisfied that the meat was well on its way to being done, he opens up the can of beans with his mechanical fingers, poking a hole in the top. Charcoal pours the contents into the pan along with the fried meat and continues to heat the mixture.

Clock sees the fingers, "Woah, wait. What the?"
