The Birch Gun has a 360 degree traverse, making its aiming extremely easy compared to other SPGs. Issues that the vehicles had in real life need not apply in WoT (see the TOG, even if it is gloriously fun).
That's probably why it is tier 4.

The Birch Gun has been restricted to a 180 degree traverse, rather than its historical 360. Couldn't possibly have it being equal to a Russian tank of course...

But yes, that's likely why.

The trends seem to be:

High traverse
High ROF
Low damage
Low Pen

ie - Precisely the opposite of what makes arty powerful right now. But we'll have to see for sure, right now it seems like 8.6 adjusted it in ways to screw the British arty.

So, funny game today. I zoomed into the town on Fjords as I sometimes do to harass them, because it's fun, and multiple things happened.

The Pz 38 nA. So far, not liking too much. Does alright in its own tier, but getting thrown into Tier VII matches is not fun. Even though in the last one I killed a M4A3E2.

Yeah, I stopped that line at the tier three tank, which is awesome. Unfortunately they've suffered from power creep a bit-the Chi-Ha is better in almost every way and after the 20% accuracy buff will be able to do everything the German tank can better- tier two is just a mess, it can't penetrate the American tank destroyers or French tanks and is poorly armoured compared to the newer tanks, particularly the new Russian line which is crazy at tier two, good at tier three then average at tier four.
The tier two tank on the German line was the first tank I ever skinned- it has Octavia mapped across the back of the tank and the turret and I still think it's one of my better ones.

Also, I broke down and got the 105 for my JagdPanther, seeing as how I'm going to be using it on the Ferdinand anyhow...

I'm not sure why you wouldn't get the 105mm for the Jagd anyway...it's far and away the best gun for the thing.

Because I seem to have the worst luck by myself. And RNG has been giving me the dick in terms of shell dispersal lately. This means I have a high chance of losing money, as each shot is 1000 credits.

Well, I'm conflicted. On one hand, I barely get any profit anymore and even lose cash on wins from using the 105 because of shell cost.

But on the other hand, that gun wrecks face, and it is glorious.

Anyways, calling it a night because I'm starting to lag ass from I-have-no-idea-what. But it's been a pretty successful day, despite some of the sheer idiocy I've seen.

I don't really mind the prices on premium tanks. Low tiers have pretty good value for money ad high tiers are really for money, training and little fear of losing silver at tier eight. Much more pay to win than tier five where losing money on regular tanks is pretty much unheard of.

Taking my Valentine 2 which I bought ages ago (granted it isn't AS good any more) for a thousand gold. It is my favourite tank in the whole game just for the sheer enjoyment it bought while it was horrendously good- it was for months the tank I could rely on for fun games in and it has my best kill:game ratio of any of my vehicles.
I spent more money travelling about twenty miles on the train to go to my volunteering role today (admittedly not a lot more), even if you include the fact that the minimum buy amount is 1500 gold.
If you wait for the half price events it's even better- I got the American tier 5 heavy tank (which is okay for STEEL WALL but otherwise meh) and the German T-25, which is in my opinion by far the best German T5 medium, for 1500.
