I don't have the test server I'm afraid. =/
Which server are you on normally? NA?

I decided to try out the Jagdpanzer IV and I actually really like it. It's easier to play in both offensive and defensive actions than I remember the Slugger being, at least.

Re: Royal Equestrian Armored Division
Well, I got around to watching the rest of the M3 Lee contest vid. That last one was absolutely priceless.
On other news, messed around with the FV215b 183 last night.
I'm going to be looking at medium and heavy tanks. I've been going down the line towards the E-100, but I'm considering going towards the Leopard 1. Also considering British tanks. All I know is that eventually I'll end up with a medium from one side and a heavy from another. I'm gonna be looking at some of Jingles' reviews later.

I encourage you to go for whatever strikes your fancy, but be warned the E-100 is very lackluster as a T10.
Also don't take test server experiences to heart. It's mostly Russian players there, and their playstyle is very different.

Generally I've found Russian players to be way more gung-ho than most. Sometimes results in them getting daring pushes that catch EU and NA players unexpectedly but more often I just find them as easy target cannon fodder when they rush over open ground and rely on "Russian deflector screen" armour upon the IS-7 or similar.

Horrifyingly accurate. Some people say the Russians are all insane.
I disagree. Russians are all Russian. It is an adjective all in a catagory of its own.

Re: Royal Equestrian Armored Division
So while bored and waiting for my wrist to recover I made this.
Effectively, my take on a British tech tree.
Lend Lease Line - British versions of American tanks an alternative to the ones that remain entirely British.
Cruiser Line - The homegrown tanks of Britain that fill the cruiser/medium element, this eventually breaks off from the Centurion into its replacement, the Chieftain heavy/MBT. It's prototype comes just before it. If you don't go Chieftain, you instead come to the lighter replacement for the Centurion, the Vickers MBT. (Which was essentially a Centurion with better engine, armour and sights)
TD Line - Breaks off from the Alecto to avoid Assault Tanks and instead works more as a traditional TD. Goes through the only "normal" TD the Brits actually had (Archer) and into the turreted line before ending on the Centurion hull TD's. This includes the Avenger (17 pounder open top Cromwell), Challenger (Uparmoured Avenger), Charioteer (20 Pounder Challenger), the Conway (Centurion with limited traverse 120mm Gun) and FV4005 (On the same page as Conway, a VERY limited traverse 183mm gun on a Centurion)
AT Line - As normal, but the FV215b (183) has been renamed the Fv215b, as the fake one has been removed.
Heavy Support Line - Continues as normal, other than the FV215b (120) being replaced by the actually existing Heavy Conqueror, which was basically an uparmoured Conqueror with lots and LOTS of spaced armour.
Infantry Support Line - Starts as normal up till the Valentine, then goes on to the Valiant. (Replacement to the Valentine, never put in production) Followed by the already coming Excelsior. This will be a premium tank but frankly it should be here.
SPG Line - I need to add to this with new finds already such as the FV38 series. But thus far it has the Gun Carrier Mk1, the first ever SPG. A Birch Gun (the first practical spg), a Bishop (Valentine with a 25 pounder) and an AC-III Thunderbolt, which is an Australian Commonwealth SPG with the same armament but on a much better chassis. This would eventually break into the ones you can read about in the Centurion linked page above that had 5.5 inch and 7.5 inch designs.
Light Tank Line - Starting from the basic Mk6 this immediately goes to a tank the British should have, the Tetrarch. This moves to the tetrarch's replacement, the Harry Hopkins. Then we have the Vickers 6-Ton. After that it moves into the experimental FV301 which is where things start to modernise. This took a bit of digging, but during the development mid-Cold War we had a vehicle blueprinted out called the AV-R. This was something like a heavier British ELC in many ways with the limited traverse. That moves on in that same article to have the FV-15000 which was a prototype for the final vehicle here. The Scorpion. Technically that's beyond the realm of the time period, but thing is the AMX-13 90 goes to this as well. It never got its 90mm until the 70's and neither did the Type 59 or T-54 get their top guns till the late 70's. So I'd say the lightly armed and armoured Scorpion is fair game. From AV-R to Scorpion the tree would be way more of a trueline scout concept. They have weaker guns (bar the top Scorpion 90mm) but would be very good with sight, stealth and speed. The Scorpion is the fastest tank ever produced in history, after all.
Premiums:
Sexton is already coming.
Matilda 1 - This is the one that came before what we know as the "Matilda" which is actually the Matilda Mk2. Low tier buzz gunner support tank.
Sentinel - Sort of a cut down M4 or RAM-II produced by the Australians with a weaker gun.
Matilda Black Prince has been re-tiered to 4, as it's currently useless at 5 and makes no darn sense being there at all.
TOG-1 - This did exist! Think of it as a Tier 4 Matilda a tier higher with way more HP and a larger body.
RAM-II has been moved to the British tree. Where it belongs.
TOG-2 is there as normal.
Achilles is an American Wolverine requipped with a 17 pounder. Fits in alongside the Jackson and Hellcat but favours firepower over their armour or speed.
AT-15A is there as normal.
FV4202 has been moved to the traditional Tier 8 Premium role. WG would never do this but it only makes sense. It's a tech demonstrator of a unique way to run a Centurion and was never even as good as a Centurion Mk7/1 in real life. Running it as an alternative to the Centurion 1 to free up that Tier 10 spot and also allow the British to have that "must have" Tier 8 premium just makes sense to me.
Also included is the Contentious. This is a traditional TD style tank from the early 60's. Armed with an L7 gun, it relies on range and stealth to survive. It's a stealth sniper of a tank.

that is a very well researched and well fleshed out tech tree, although the tetrarch could do well in tier two given its paper armour, although with its hp pool bulked out it could work.

The British Tetrarch's also had a device called a Littlejohn Adaptor that massively increased the Tetrarch's penetration. With that it would be much more effective at Tier 3 with a crazy penetration gun on a light but fragile chassis. I think that would boost it up far enough to help it out.

It's a great idea. Well, except that the Vickers 6-ton doesn't belong in tier 5. It's good where its variants are currently (2), what would it even be capable of doing in 5?

Hmm, I'm actually curious why that is there. I could have sworn it was a completely different vehicle when I was looking through them.
I'll have to relocate whatever it was I saw, it certainly wasn't that.

Tree looks pretty good to me, Fuzzy. I just wish they'd do something that involved for the British.
Also for what its worth, my understanding is that the Sentinel tanks are actually coming as non-premiums.
On a side note, I've come to the conclusion that the SU-100Y is absurd.

Is that absurd as in broken or absurd as in silly? I have a blast when they show up- they can't hide very well, are huge targets and slab sided. It's actually my TOG's favourite prey to snipe at.

Crazy tank.
What's the sound mod you've got for the ambience of shots firing? Sounds way more advanced than the default one.
Personally, I'm really looking for a decent tank crew voice mod. The default actors are some of the worst I've ever heard in a game.
"That was close."
"Bail out, this tank's had it." *After it's exploded into a million pieces*
"Ammo hit but at least it didn't explode."
No drama, no emphasis, no nothing. I'm looking for more stuff like:
"Enemy armour two seven degrees load AP load AP!"
"Up!"
"Command fire!"
"Firing!"
"Target hit, still active! Load AP!"
A bit of drama and intensity to the voice acting would be fantastic. It only feels natural that each nation should have a unique one too. For example what I've given above is the older British style of it. There'd be so many cool little nuggets of info and fun you could have with nation specific languages and lines.

I've tried a lot of sound mods and the one in that video is definitely the best one I've seen. You can find it (and a bunch of other nifty stuff) here: http://historicalrealism.blogspot.com/2013/03/historical-realism-gun-sound-mod-15.html
As for the voice mods, honestly the best one that's on subject in my opinion is the British Company of Heroes one, which should still be on the forums somewhere.
EDIT: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YKptfKmYgQ8 is an old, crappy example of it but I think you'll get the point.

There are a lot of good and funny voice mods out there, but I stick to the default because the more detailed information when I'm hit is useful. for example, if I'm lining up a shot for sniping and I get dritical damage, if I get told what's wrong I don't have to lose focus on the critical last shot before I withdraw.
Though I might try the pony one for fun at some point.

After some time with the MLP mod, you remember who is who and you're equally informed as if you were playing with default voices.
Twilight is the TC, Pinkie is the gunner, etc.

There does need to be a lot of adjustments to WoT's voice priority. I notice this happening.
I get shot.
"Track destroyed, we're sitting ducks!"
"Engine knocked out!"
"Gunner's bleeding, somebody get on the gun!"
"The ammo's hit but at least it didn't explode."
...2 second pause
"We're on fire!"
Yeah thanks, I might have wanted to know that first.

On a similar note, they halved the credit cost of some British tanks for the next few days.
Unfortunately, they didn't do the same to their xp costs. If they did, I'd have my AT2 right now.
