Oops, I did it again :

This time, I asked Rum to give me the RAW audio recording, and edited that.

This time, I asked Rum to give me the RAW audio recording, and edited that.
Here's what I did :
Changes (in order of application) :
- Deleted the click around 0:25 in the original
- Lowered the track's pitch by 5.75 semitones
- Applied an echo filter (0.025 second delay, decay factor of 0.7)

Gimme a P-21 passage and i'll try to get my brother to read it. Though we both have Irish accents, his is slighter stronger than mine so I'll tell him to suppress.

In retrospect, I maybe added too much effects on that second one. It's becoming hard to understand what's being said.
What do y'all think ? Should I tone down the "cyber" effect ? Should the voice be a bit higher ?

If your brother isn't afraid of doing a 5 minutes performance, he could always try the same one rum did (or part of it).Caoimhe wrote:Gimme a P-21 passage and i'll try to get my brother to read it. Though we both have Irish accents, his is slighter stronger than mine so I'll tell him to suppress.

Sounds like it was primarily designed for police. So yeah, less than lethal is good because otherwise everyone will cry about how horrible the police are for killing someone that was trying to kill them.Mister Frost wrote:"Less than lethal"

@Pipbucks
The non-psychopath market for this should be reasonably large if they can make it less than stupidly expensive. =P As it is, the lack of pricing on that website suggests that a taser and a cheap smartphone might make a better investment. (Plus, you'll get yourself killed by the police wearing this; "evidence gathering" combined with a weapon you can't easily drop does not a happy officer make)
@Camo
Nah, the police would just "accidentally discharge" their guns into subdued, unarmed folks' heads and get a paid vacation. They don't need this, there are no actual repercussions for when they murder folks anyway. Only reason they'd use this is because of whiny lawyers complaining that the cops need to be held accountable for hospitalizing/murdering random people on the street. Then they'd be forced to wear this, and it'd suffer temporary malfunctions every time they had to punch judges in the throat for raising the concern during an arrest that maybe after the suspect has stopped struggling it could be time to stop kicking them in the face.

nope happens in Houston new York, Dallas New Orleans Chicago, Seattle, Podunk Town kansas... well actually the smaller towns aren't as bad because the police don't usually have to deal with the shit that larger city cops do, but it does not keep those instances from happening...

Speaking of complaining, the Ford Escape is aggravating as hell if you're a big person like me. The seat-belts barely reach around properly, they gave me so much trouble I hurt my shoulder muscle multiple times because the damn thing wouldn't hardly reach the buckle regardless of what I did.
I have this wild-ass idea for a FoE-ified Van Pelt from the movie Jumanji. Somehow I find a really pissed-off, hoity toity hunter amusing.

Possibly. My current idea is my group took something pretty damn important and he's after it or guarding it or something, and now he's after them. He's dressed up in a hunter's outfit (it is kinda cold in the northern areas) and carries a 20mm rifle.
Iron Fury overhears a conversation between Van Pelt and some hostages. "Oh quit your groveling, mare, I could have shot you at any time, but you didn't take the artifact!"

um, I'm no expert with guns, but wouldn't a 20mm rife be as long as he is? though you would need a 20mm to make many things in the wasteland permanently dead, so I suppose it's not that much overkillIronmonger wrote:O. Re: [Official!] Project Horizons Comment Crew Chat thread.
Depends on the cartridge size to an extent and how far away you intend to engage something. Longer range, longer barrel (but don't overdo it), shorter range, shorter barrel. You don't want to be swinging a long-barreled weapon around in close combat. Could use a longer-than-average barrel for medium range. If you have a powerful cartridge you should use a longer barrel otherwise that extra powder is wasted.
EDIT: Daring Do as Van Pelt. xD

...and how far backwards will he fly each time he fires it? Unless it's an artifact and has super-enchantments.

...Either it's enchanted or recoils in a frame. Could step it down and go for an anti-bear caliber, I mainly said 20mm because Van Pelt carries a ridiculously large "rifle". Maybe a .375 H&H or .458 Winchester Magnum; Anything larger and the recoil starts to become a problem unless you have a rifle that recoils in-frame other form of recoil management.
EDIT: Actually he could use a 14mm round with a heavier powder load. The rifle would be huge but the recoil would be manageable with the proper recoil system. I would say .50 BMG but my artistic side feels that would make him seem like just another raider.
