@Iron: I meant the overall "gathering" there. BJ tried once to do one thing, failed, and gave up. Lacunae was there for all I remember, and didn't do shit to intervene. Then they stated "we can't do her out, it would take hours" then stood arguing for about 1-2 minutes, then dug her out once they were sure she had stopped breathing, dug her up in a extremely short time as it was described, then just dragger her off without bothering CPR, despite the fact she drowned. So yeah... I saw that whole scene as very "lazy", I got that Somber thought someone "had" to die, but it was pulled off poorly.

XCom Update: Having avoided killing my entire first team, finally got nicknamed units:
Female Assault (no one claims Frost you okay with being a GIRL?)
Male Heavy (no one claims)
Male Sniper (CamoBadger)
Male Support (oHinds)
On the way is a Male assault (probably will be Ironmonger)

General strategy is to keep my better units back and send red-shirts to scout. As long as it wasn't a rush mission (bomb or terror) I'm taking things extra slow. Seriously 63% at point blank range? And String, do you want to be a class in my Classic Ironman XCom game?

No. It can't consume souls unlike its own. It can't "use" them, except as torture targets... not unlike Vader with Han and Leia on Cloud City. Its whole plan is to get the other souls screaming with it until the stars can't stand the noise anymore and try to stop it with another impact that it can consume for power.

Given its goal of a universal monotone, though, I would assume that a risen EoS would drag those souls along for eternity, seeking out other living planets to add to its chorus and other stars to consume until all songs were its own. It would be a psychic Galactus, seeking to trap all souls everywhere forever. Left unchecked, it would spend eternity pointlessly holding the Outer Things at bay in the corpse of a universe without life or light.
