guys. Hope I haven't missed anything fun but my usual reading of the
topic today did not happen because NFL.

I will now resume banging my head against something until either the NFL fixes this garbage or I knock myself out.

Shit...what happened now? (I don't have TV at my place yet, so I'm way out of the loop)

The
reason for everything is a petty dispute between the NFL and its
referees which has led to the refs being replaced by division III and
cast-off referees from the LFL who don't know the rules and can't keep
up with the game in general. Last night was the icing on the cake of the
bad calls so far this season though:

The play:
Replacement officials made two egregious calls on the final play, which
officially went down as a 24-yard Hail Mary touchdown reception for
Seahawks receiver Golden Tate. First, Tate blatantly pushed Packers
cornerback Sam Shields in the back to clear room. Second, Packers safety
M.D. Jennings appeared to intercept the pass and land on the ground
with the ball. Tate reached for the ball as well but did not appear to
have simultaneous possession. Of the two officials near the play, one
ruled a touchdown and the other a touchback. For reasons unknown, a
replay review confirmed a touchdown.

Long
story short the refs messed up badly (and obviously) twice on the last
play and cost the Packers the game. General outrage ensued from everyone
in the league (except for the Seahawks) and the NFL today proceeded to
pretend nothing happened.

*watches game highlights* Wow, looks like it was a good game.

THE FUCK CALL IS THAT REF?!?!? I'm sorry, That is really the only thing
I could think. I see how they may have messed it up when it first
happened, because it was insane at the spot of the catch, but that
replay...how could you call that a touchdown? WHAT THE HELL

I
think I heard there's something like a referee strike going on, so they
couldn't use professionals. They also couldn't use any good
college-level referees, because of some reason I don't remember. Maybe
they were supporting the strike, or maybe they just had their own games
already scheduled.

So the refs were seriously low on the totem pole.

Not my team but that was a shitty ass call. It's been on ESPN all day today and it's pretty ridic.
