I love Somber's work, even if this comic (which has been brought up previously) makes me nod and laugh.

And because this message seems rather vacant, I offer my two cents about the fic: BJ's virtue is perseverance, and PH involves using the moon to destroy the Eater of Souls.

Ah, definitely not bad choices (how interesting you'd both pick Horse to be Gluttony heh) - I would though like to limit the choices to /just/ Blackjack's party though, so not ponies like Steel Rain.
Also yes, "lesser of two evils" is definitely a good way to describe a lot of PH.

It seems like a good list to start with - your reasoning for the sins seems to be fairly solid I'd say.

Well, your versions of the characters are still based off the originals with slightly exaggerated traits, aren't they? I'd say it's still legitimate criteria for how you'd organize them on the list. *nods*

chastity - Scotch Tape (for lack of a better candidate) <> lust - (Sad to say it) Stygius (Do I even need to explain?)
temperance - P-21 (deals with Blackjacks shit even though he has a little bit of trouble with self control) <> gluttony - Horse (Sweetie Bot, seriously.) Boo (it's a joke but she is a bit of a glut)
charity - Charity(Do I even need to explain?) Stygius (when he could have just bucked and run, he chose to follow) <> greed - the machine(desperate to get Ec-1101) Glory (isn't willing to let go of things. she will sacrifice things for other things but isn't willing to let go. For instance. She wasn't willing to let Blackjack go.)
diligence - Rampage (sticks to her guns no matter what) <> sloth - Goldenblood (Could have done more, could have been better, but was so obsessed with letting others fuck up.) P-21 (refusal to take up the roll as father, Not really a decision maker, but will bop Blackjack upside the head for making the 'wrong one')
patience - Lacunae (getting all the shit the goddess refuses to deal with would kinda lead to this) <> wrath - Steel Rain (he'd probably kill you if you brushed up against him and he didn't give you explicit order to) Rampage (... She is a one person wrecking machine who is probably more than willing to tear someone apart for the hell of it, also that split personality that likes to kill the weak)
kindness - Glory (Very caring character) <> envy - Sanguine (his whole obsession with Goldenblood and ec 1101)
humility - Blackjack (selfless to the extent of suicidal) <> pride - Psychoshy (desperate for attention)

Yeah! Just slightly exaggerated. And I love having explanations of the choices.
As I said, even with the exaggeration, you can still feel the characters in how you view them, and I think that you definitely made some interesting points swicked, definitely things worth considering.

I Agree with this wholeheartedly. I mean there is no way it could be cannon and I think it would make more sense if P-21 hated stygius because he is acting too much like the very content stable stallions. And I doubt Stygius would really be able to comprehend to men together like that. But honestly SO ADORABLE IT MUST BE DRAWN.

Cerberus is now Robot Charlton Heston I approve of this action as now I'm reading all his lines not in the Fo3 voice but in the Planet of the Apes, Damn dirty apes voice.

Self Conscious Lacunae is adorable in a way that I can only describe as a mixture of Daww and sadness, particularly the line about the Goddess leaving because she could not take genuine happiness. The hopefully inevitable scene when Blackjack visits the Society and has to mingle with all the royal types with her band of degenerate angst commandos get a thousand percent better with the mental image of Lacunae wowing the assemble nobility in with a bit of fancy.

Pre War Ghoul sob story, so we finally found out the Angel of Death's name and how she ended up in Rampage along with the officer. Good to know she did not offer her kid. Now we just need to assemble the line to figure out how each soul got in Rampage in what order and how the Ministry of Image kept moving that orb and those bodies around.

Interesting little team you've assembled Blackjack, You've got lots of backup, supplies and a plan of sorts and Boings not dead. Your slipping Blackjack everything is going well

More of EC-1101's magical nature as now it is directly providing plot downloaded directly into Blackjacks head whenever she unseals something. No Dealer comments which is a surprise but then maybe he's napping.

Smooze and the slime ponies were an interesting enemy but weird.

Okay while I like the descriptions of the Soul Jar experiments I got an issue with them for low points

I don't think Psychoshy should get credit for accidentally bucking Blackjack, it has to be a gun of some kind before you can officially join the group.

Last mention for this chapter, Rarity why did you give up those experiments? Snipes knew so you must have known you could not use Prisoners to make the materials since they turn out psycho, why not vets? I could see any one of a hundred elderly, disabled or dieing ponies stepping up if asked "Hey would you like to live forever helping people? The Stealth suit might have unknown issues but look at Octavia, she turned out okay so obviously you got better at the process at some point.

I seriously hope the way you did not get better was through constant trial and error... but you were using Snipes and Snails as your Oppenheimer and Fermi.... well.... I mean... yeah...

The Soul Sword which I'm referring to from now on as a Zanpakuto is not only a weapon against pretty much everything it's also slices and dices soul cloth and soul armor.

The Zebra Stealth suit! I'm guessing we found the suit of the Zebra infiltrator who tried to killed Rarity for the book in FoE main story flashbacks.

Well... what can I say other then I enjoyed reading it?

This chapter and the last one brought back the Fallout portion to the forefront for me. Not saying that part's been absent, just that sometimes the chapters read like MLP:FIM in Fallout and others are like Fallout with MLP:FIM. The overall blending of the chapters make it Fallout: Equestria for me.
Not saying a chapter being more one then the other is bad, just that I see it but I enjoy it that way.

Nice nod to the older generation and I will admit I squee'd at the stealth suit because I did fall in love with it in New Vegas.

That was explicitly a cloak, IIRC; I'm not sure where the infiltrator suit came from.

Alright actual commentary now.

Once again. Brilliant chapter. Read it while sitting at the edge of my seat.

Loved how we actually had a reasonable authority figure for a change at the beginning. MORE PARTY MEMBERS! A zebra engineer no less. Also Blackjack's special talent has to be rallying allies. Every time she is alone or outnumbered in a hostile area she pretty much rounds up every badass around in less than a day. Even if some of those allies are with questionable motives.

Boing's survival looked like a cheap cop out to keep BJ sane to me but eh. Maybe there is a purpose for her later.

Like I said above I LOVED the preparations part. Don't even know why but I did.

So Shears is confirmed as Snips, nice observation folks. More visions of the past.

Loved the brilliant Checkoffs gun with Silver Spoon. I called it as soon as Blackjack mentioned someone who can control ghouls. Also Somber you officially made a place worse than Canterlot. You made the fucking Smooze terrifying for crying out loud. And that's just the tip of the iceberg.

The insight into what happens to soul powered objects is unsettling. But makes sense. Loved the explanations and the show case of what it does. Petunias terrified face formed in the cloth was heart wrenching.

YAY MODIFIED STEALTH ARMOR! I loved her in Old World Blues. She and her new owner will be a huge asset in the final battle.

And of course it's all controlled by a giant mind tank robot. At least it's not the cyber demon or eater of souls.

Brilliant chapter. Very intense. I loved it.
