Power armor is significantly heavier than combat armor, as the power-assist allows you to put more protection on than a normal person could move under.guarddogjr wrote:Quick question would power armor be considered better than standard combat armor or is it more similar to an LAV? I mean I know it is better, but I cant remember if anything other than AM rifle can punch through.
As for what can punch through... if you're talking about the games, it varies from everything to very little. In story, armor piercing ammo will typically penetrate, and sufficiently powerful weapons with ordinary slugs have done so.

This is a fanfic just waiting to happen.
Why is this not a thing yet? This needs to be a thing.

We have here are Silent, Sindri, The Last Defender, Kippershy, myself, Wavemaster, Guarddog, Hinds, Jacky, and Curebores from the EQD here now, which looks like almost all the regulars. Notably, barring Kim and Somber, who isn't as much a regular as she is a demi-lord.
Now for something that has to do with PH somehow.
I just went out and saw the new Avengers movie, and for the entire film, I thought that Blackjack would be good compliment to that team. She has problems, is hard to kill, is more powerful than most ponies, and has signature weapons. Those all fit in a little, huh? What do you guys think?
I saw that movie too. It was pretty good. I laughed my ass off because of some of those scenes. The funniest scene was when Hulk blanked blank around like a blank in the blank. Either that or when Hulk blanked blank after they took down that blank.
In case you're wondering, the blanks are in there to avoid spoilers.
As for Blackjack becoming a member of the Avengers. Is it a bad thing if I can picture her crystal clear posing with the rest of the Avengers? Somebody needs to make a picture of her posing with the rest of the avengers, not ponified avengers, the actual avengers.

This is exactly what I meant. And it is not a bad thing, it would be glorious. And yes, Hulk blanking Blank was pretty hilarious. Actually, the consensus on the web says that he said "Puny God", not "Weak God". I had to look it up. I was to busy laughing my ass off at what had just happened to hear what he said.

I hope this works out. I'm sure most of the regulars will come here, although those who posted less frequently probably won't. New fans who seek out the old thread probably won't decide to move here either. Especially if we don't keep mentioning this place in what little discussion that continues to occur in the old thread. It's a major shame we have to abandon what we had going on Equestria Daily. We were setting records there.
I can't deny that the Intense Debate system was abysmal, though. This system is almost exclusively better. I still miss a few things from the original Blogger system, though. Like the fact it was really easy to distinguish between posts (it's not like it's hard to here or anything, but really light blue alternating with even lighter blue on a white background kind of blends together) and the fact that a lot of posts (200) would fit on each page with Blogger. Comments and discussion are far more likely to be lost or missed among the many pages here and with Intense Debate. I also liked how things were way more condensed on Blogger and Intense Debate. Also, the fact that profiles are located on the right instead of the left here is a bit annoying and seems inconvenient.
But hey! This system is still good. I don't mean to put it down or anything. I'm sure I'll get used to it. Plus, this system has many advantages over both Blogger and Intense Debate. Most notably (in my opinion) is the ability to post pictures.

Meh, potato patato. Still funny though, and when Hulk punched Blank after defeating the Big Mook I laughed too.jacky2734 wrote:ketchup504 wrote:

The color design is kinda there to fit the name I guess. You know, Cloudsville - clouds, sky and all that stuff.Necr0maNceR wrote:

thank you for clearing that up, for some reason I was thinking only a .50 could punch through it. So then I guess that means a .338 could punch through it since they do fill a light anti-material role.

I saw out new thread yesterday, but didn't feel like to write down something like "testing" or "hi, I'm here" and there were only one page of comments. Then I go to sleep and when I woke up *BAM* 6 pages of discussion in our new home. You do understand, lads, that at some point we could hit page limit for forum?
Guess that's what could happen, when you live on other side of the globe.
Oh and I think, I would stick to what others say in their first posts - Katarn "that Soviet Bastard" reporting for duty o7

It's in the first paragraph...TheLastDefender wrote:@silent
We're not going to have our usual welcome at the beginning?
It's a little more vague in the story than in the games. In the games, you can typically get a little chipping damage through the DR, but it'd take forever to kill someone that way. In the story, the primary strike plates can deflect anything weaker than a .50 BMG round or a bullet enchanted specifically to defeat armor. However, the suit has weak points that an opponent can exploit if they're close and skilled enough -- for example, when Littlepip put one of Little Mac's rounds through the helmet of the Ranger in her mentor's room, or BJ hitting the Enclave trooper's visor with Duty & Sacrifice.guarddogjr wrote:thank you for clearing that up, for some reason I was thinking only a .50 could punch through it. I knew the helmet was weaker, that much I remembered from FOE was just wanted to know about the rest. As for the Enclave armor, wasn't it made to be lighter, and as result weaker, so it could be more aerodynamic and is better for flight.

And here I am. I hate we had to leave the other system but I could only connect with my facebook there and didn't want to reveal my true self just yet.
So we still just settling in or is there an active topic to talk about?
I have to admit, I miss being in forums like this. Brings back good memories.

For the most part it's just us settling in, and waiting for everypony to transfer over as well as greeting anypony new that shows up.

I remembered when Michael JAW or someone asked me if I knew where New Zealand was, which I did, but it felt strangely like he thought I was an idiot. That is what made it stick with me. I hold things I find insulting or embarrassing for too long.CalamityWhen wrote:ketchup504 wrote:Another thing to note, PH has fans all over the place. Funny story, one of my brony friends became a PH quote machine, which would make my French class excessively awkward. He's moved on to Battletech, which isn't much better. Maybe it is super awkward because only me and my bro know what he is talking about half the time.
And another won't give FOE a chance, probably because he doesn't read for fun and only seemed to like Pony because it wasn't 'mainstream'. Damn hipsters...

Let's see. There are twenty posts per page of a thread. On the old blogger system, we could fill a two hundred post page in a week. Which means we could get ten pages filled on this forum in a week.
Uh, what's the page limit before a thread gets locked?
