It's due in great part to the fans, yeah. I can't even see the title without thinking of either the fans wanting to fuck the skeletons, or how the protagonist is actually a demistargender omipansexual transmushroom who's kin with half of the universe and saying otherwise means you're part of the white imperialist patriarchy

Kill every "perfectly-written" (not really) character, listen to "deep and sublime" (not really) attempts to guilt-trip you into loving and being friends with everyone and not murdering them.

Rip and tear, until it is done.


Then you stumble onto the 110th instance of someone saying how they've cried for weeks after trying a Genocide route, or even seeing someone else do the Genocide, and how Trebuchet is their waifu, and you lose some more faith in humanity... But that's another story.
