Re: [GRIMDARK] Fallout Equestria: Project Horizons Discussion
@Somber: I have done that, dozens of times. I even coined several genres and created "world's first" in a number of topics.
And people like to point out that I'm a prodigy. Generally in the negative sense. But as of late I'm just totally fizzled due to a number of things.
Anyhow, you were very adamant about how you don't want to fix any of the errors in PH, as you want it to be a reminder for you that you can do better. Which I fully respect. But you know, being told you don't want me to officially correct anything as an editor or the like. That leaves very few alternatives xP And has so far lead to the hit and miss of "just fix the sexual parts, leave the rest the fuck alone, ok? Ps: You only need to mention something once." response of the first draft. I'm apparently terrible at banter and attempting to smooth things out hehe.
Still can't recall what event pushed me to want to make a revised edition. (aside from wanting to be able to finish reading the story) But as said: If I cba, I would fix the two massive blatant flaws of FoE, that people still roll their eyes at to this day. Hm... that prolly come off a bit wrong in terms of implying... what I meant to say is that it's an attempt of admiration/affection to the source. Kinda like a mod for a game. Plus, in PH's case, it's more strune throughout. Not a blatant case of "having the implied mastermind forget the one and only thing their nemesis is capable off" xD
@Silent: Yeah... I should honestly learn to try and just power through things.
Currently being way inefficient.
@EP: That's some pretty neat cosplay... though, have to say they are given very questionable names but... xP

I wouldn't worry too much, I don't think anyone really noticed or they'd have commented. Unfortunately, she was referred to as "Lala" in at least one spot, which will also need to be corrected.Somber wrote:ACK! Did I seriously fuck that up! Crap crap crap!
Incidentally, is "Lani" her bondsister's full name, or is that a nickname? If it's the latter, then we've kinda got at least three of them running around. (Mahealani, Ahulani, and "Lani".) I know it's a common name ending in Hawaiian, though, so it's not necessarily a terrible thing.
While I'm on the subject, I noticed an oddity in chapter 1 where Sky Altar's voice is described as "haunty". I think it's supposed to say "haughty", right?

Those are indeed some awesome costumes! Kinda makes me want to put together a Calamity outfit. (Why Calamity? Because I'm Texan. I've already got the hat.)Valikdu wrote:There was a PH-themed cosplaying group at PonyRadioCon. I'd really like to go to bronycon this year, since I won't be able to make it to EFNW.

Somber, in case you missed it, the "Lala" SilentCarto pointed out appears to still be there in the FIMFiction chapter:
"“About what happened to your ship, Lala,” a stern-faced mare said."
If you do decide to go to Bronycon, let me know; I've no idea at this point whether it would work out, but we might be able to meet up at a convention again. At the least, Baltimore appears to be only about a two and a half hour ride away on the Northeast Regional (well, after another hour and a half or so on the LIRR).

Oh! I feel stupid now for not looking up where PonyRadioCon is held. I'd been vaguely wondering how the costumes could all include realistic weapons -- cons in the US (and a lot of Europe, I think) tend to get really twitchy about that sort of thing.White_Disaster wrote:Nah, sorrily we haven't met and it's not gonna happen.

As for us it's a very twitchy thing too, we weren't allowed to carry out guns from photo zone.SilentCarto wrote:Oh! I feel stupid now for not looking up where PonyRadioCon is held. As for all visitors: it's allowed to bring non-combat realistic models of weapons, for example airsoft ones, with mags not loaded and without accums/gas. Also people had to register their guns online sending photos of them to security.

Re: [GRIMDARK] Fallout Equestria: Project Horizons Discussion
Commentary time! (Crossposted from FimFiction for your benefit. Yes, you. No, not him... that's right.) Criminally late, I know...
- Homelands Ch. 6 Commentary:
Sigh... gonna completely ignore that a good bit of that treasure came from your own people, huh?The vote wasn’t even close. Kraken and Maelstrom stared at Tsunami as if sharpening their knives. Others, ones who hadn’t suffered as heavy losses, seemed to be taking her speech to heart, nodding thoughtfully.
Morons.
It sounds like 'blinding the eye of the world' is kind of like Avatar Wan cutting off the physical world from the spirit world.“But if the swamp can’t see us, does it know us? Does it understand what we do? What we feel? Why we be how we be?”
Neat! She helped the victims get on their hooves, asking the nearby willows to ease their pain a little.
I don't think I want to see Shattered Hoof Ridge through the eyes of a shaman. It would take years of brutality to equal the spiritual toxicity of a deliberate, callous murder.
It's kind of funny to think of Majina as the team prude... relatively speaking, anyway.Osane just shrugged and said that, so long as she didn’t have to raise the offspring, she didn’t care.
Like it wasn’t a problem.
LOL, dragon counting.“Three threes and…” She paused, frowned as she looked at the stacks. “I need two more coins.”
Ah, Precious. A natural-born thug if ever there was one. (Erm... unnatural-born? You know what I mean!)Mostly a bunch of walking and growling and occasionally biting butts.
I have to wonder if all Achu are given to this laconic style, like Spartans, or if it's just him.“No. Just mistaken,” he rumbled.
Interesting philosophy. I'm liking him immediately, of course, but it's interesting to see how he tries to out-willpower others rather than out-muscle them.“Either you are strong, or you aren’t. No amount of work will make a weak zebra strong. I can only make a strong zebra strong.”
“But…” Her brain popped a fuse there. “What is all this for, then?” He had to be the worst gym owner ever!
“Fitness. Muscle mass.” He gave a little shrug. “None of it’s ever made a weak zebra stronger than they are. But it pays the bills.”
Now I'm wondering what these close-but-not-quite names might mean.“We don’t have many Zencori here. Pleasure to meet you, Merjina.”
“Wonderful. Wonderful. Everything is wonderful. Gang. Majajina.”
I guess Zencori tend to wind up kind of genre-savvy, huh?“Eeee,” she cried out in glee. “I have a mentor who’ll train me and make me stronger and not be the damsel in distress anymore!” she said, then blinked a moment later, glancing behind her in worry. “I hope he doesn’t die.”
Not that we're building a theme here or anything. The ‘Iron Legion’ members marked their faces with a brand made from a hot I-beam pressed twice against the zebras’ foreheads or the griffons’ haunches, forming a cross.
“Colonel Adolpha. Make it quick.”
Huh... yeah, that makes sense, but I'd never thought of a doctor's bag as something that had to be built like a vault. The bag had a combination lock on the clasp, and the heavy hide had been scratched by claws or knives, but it took more than that to breach dragonhide.
Whosawhat? The Applelosian trail was a big stretch of winding nothing stretching from the south up to New Appleloosa.
It would be funny if Lucy was the male head (Lucius) and Bob was the female (Roberta).“Probably not, Bob,” Lucy muttered.
Howdy! I'm FLOWEY! FLOWEY the FLOWER!That flower sprouting in the middle of the trail definitely didn’t belong.
Hee hee hee...
You're new to the WASTELAND, aren'tcha?
Run. RUN NOW.“Look,” Brick said excitedly as he pointed out to the side where a delicate bell of green and white sprouted before their eyes. “Pretty!” he laughed, stomping his hooves.
“Boss,” Mercy snapped, drawing her beam pistol and pointing it at the foliage sprouting all around them. “What do I shoot?” she asked as her aim swept from one thing to the next, trying to identify targets.
Toldja. Those same invisible hands ripped into his shoulders and claws, and he watched in horror as they blackened like burnt sticks.
Okay, interesting... I'd been rather assuming this was someone in the employ of Riptide, but perhaps not?...Enough waiting. A year had been long enough!
Time to find that damned pony and get her moving again.
But it's only been six months, right? Or is this a year since leaving pony lands?
- Homelands Ch. 6 Editing:
"Strength leading to serenity" and "serenity from strength" mean the same thing. I recommend breaking first line to say, "Left to right, they meant strength producing serenity, and right to left, serenity leading to strength."Left to right, they meant strength leading to or producing serenity, and right to left, serenity from strength. She didn’t see how that could be, though.

So, just out of curiosity, how did Marigold get down from her rocket without the whole landing pad and airlock arrangement? Did she have to clamber down a ladder?

A ladder, perhaps a lift, I think. Either it was no longer attached by the time Blackjack and friends used the rocket, or she just never noticed; she was pretty preoccupied, after all, and didn't need to use it.

A pop-out lift platform on the exterior would work fine, sure. I was just curious if there was intended to be a ramp or an internal elevator or something. I mean, ponies aren't bad at ladders, apparently. Not as good as us apes, but it doesn't seem to inconvenience them too much.

I mean, not that I was asking for any particular reason...
- Marigold's... er, Twilight's Moon Mission:
The Rocket
The boosters are probably a bit large, but you gotta do what you gotta do... those are nuclear engines on the main stage, by the way, in keeping with the original.
The Launch
I forgot to take shots of the liftoff. Oh well.
The Pilot
Hey, you're not Marigold! ...eh, close enough.
The Destination
There it is, Twilight. The Moon.
I won't bore you with the maneuvering and landing burns, which look pretty much the same as launch, but with a gray, cratery backdrop.
The End
And here we are! The samples are all loaded up, but Twilight took a minute to get some photos. She looks so happy.
Of course, we're not getting back without the infinite fuel cheat, but that's kind of appropriate too, isn't it?

Question for Somber or anyone else who'd know: have thoughts on the location of the divisions between Book 3 and Book 4 and between Book 4 and Book 5 changed since the story finished/whenever the hub page was last updated?

Re: [GRIMDARK] Fallout Equestria: Project Horizons Discussion
Ha-HA! Homelands 7! Enjoyed the setup and how the spirit worldbuilding was packed in (granted, stories about spirits are radical in and of themselves).
- Spoiler:
- Loved the mask-goes-on-mask-goes-off-can-you-tell-the-difference moments too (e.g. anything Shaman-related happens when the mask is off), supporting my working hypothesis that masks shield people from spiritual attention (given spirits are very much put off by falsehoods) and vice-versa (Dealer only visible when mask is removed).
Re: [GRIMDARK] Fallout Equestria: Project Horizons Discussion
- Homelands Ch. 7 Commentary:
As psycho as Vicious is, at least you know where you stand with her. If she's got a problem with you, she'll smash your face, not snipe and undermine. She’d never truly understood her dad’s frustration with Blackjack until she moved in with Vicious.
Still psycho, though. This is... uncomfortable, to say the least, though I admit not the most uncomfortable situation Scotch has ever been in.Hopefully she’d be too spent to try and ‘fool around’ with her for a few weeks after this.
I'm not sure how useful masks are when you're color coded, but anyway.“Pick up a mask or something if you can,” Vicious yelled. “Trust me. Masks are a must!”
This answers a question I had a couple chapters ago. Neat!Kirin dao
Oh, interesting. I wonder whether they're branded as Dashites or if they could slip away to Zebrinica without so much fanfare.Enclave dissidents who’d foolishly thought the zebra lands were safer than the Equestrian surface.
I'll grant, if you've had something shot off, this beats several of the alternatives. She saw a zebra mare with one hind leg ending in a chitinous, spiny black insectoid foot.
I wonder if they run off of blood sugar or if you have to feed them Carnico brand Symbiont Chow. Surely they must link into the host's circulatory system to get oxygen and reject waste. Otherwise this mare would have to avoid standing in water for too long, and periodically go outside to walk her foot...
Yeah, I'm over-thinking this.
And "invincible" is stretching it rather a lot.“You! Pony! Your hide is soft! Have hide of dragon!” called one, pointing with a crab claw ‘arm’ to a scaly purple sheet hanging in bubbling fluid. “Become invincible!”
She had a friend already with that.
This is remarkably specific for a 'bad feeling'. I'm going to ascribe it to spirits. She paused as she felt the hairs on her back rise, and her normal impulse to just trot up transformed into caution. She slipped off to the side, moving along the fence line to one of the smaller doors around the side. That tingling, sickly sensation rose as she reached one of the fire doors also kept propped open for ventilation.
I swear, Somber, if that rat's name turns out to be Jenkin...She spotted a large brown rat shuffling into sight, emerging from under a wreck. It rose on its hind legs and sniffed as it blinked its oily eyes at her. There were voices inside, Xarius’s ghoulish croak the most notable. She lifted a hoof to her lips, making a shushing motion at the bold rat.
Okay, weird skill then?!“I was just here for my pay for this week and I didn’t want to interrupt!” She gestured at her backside. “That was just… weird luck.”
“Luck,” Tchernobog said evenly, “would not have evaded my watchers.”
Hmm. So she would know how to sabotage them, too...“Well, yeah,” she said slowly. “No horn, so I can’t make them, but I know standard service and maintenance. Things like adjusting the calipers and cleaning. Nothing big. Why?”
“Just good to know.”
I love that Scotch thinks of rotgut as 'solvent'.He tugged out a chilled glass and a bottle of something that smelled like turpentine, filled the glass halfway up with Lucky Stripe and the solvent, and pushed the half-empty bottle of soda to her.
I'm not sure I'd be proud of a diploma from the PIT.A degree from the Propoli Institute of Technology.
(I know, it's probably actually something more like "Instituto Propoli di Tecnologia".)
Huh. Funny to think that the alicorns might be familiar with Scotch. And alicorns? Here? That was as crazy as wandering megaspells in Equestria.
...I'm not sure whether I want the purple to be Psalm or not...
Oh, I like it.He reached into his drawer and pulled out a mask of polished metal. It had a wrench symbol across its brow and math formulas for pressure, velocity, and acceleration around the eye holes. Along the top was a fine wire mesh decorated with brass nuts and bolts.
That's interesting... one of Tchernobog's watchers, or a metal spirit? And is this a sign of her growing shaman powers, or is the mask special? Or perhaps participating in a holiday ritual naturally draws one closer to the spirit world...She thought for a moment she glimpsed something pale and shiny skitter along the side of the refrigerator, but it disappeared out of sight behind it a second later.
That sounds much better than a nuclear war. Can we get a redo? Some zebras left little trinkets at the bases of certain honored capstones, like the 91st ‘Glorious’ Caesar, who had wed Princess Celestia and whose capstone always had three or four gold coins on it. He apparently hadn’t been the only one, as the 127th, 138th, 179th, and 199th all had Celestia’s sunburst carefully carved to the left of the Caesar’s mark.
Wow. That was a remarkably moving speech.“Exactly!” she said as she jabbed Scotch’s chest. “It was new. That Lightbringer started it. For the first time ever, I started seeing futures that weren’t complete nightmares. Oh, plenty were still lousy. Most, maybe. But…” She paused and shook her head, looking stricken a moment. “Then Blackjack did her thing and… yeah! It looked even better. Like this dark veil was pulled off Equus. Like maybe we were past the bad times. But then I read that stupid letter about that stupid eye, and since then everything’s been dimming. It wasn’t so bad while we were moving, but since we stopped here it’s like everything is drowning and I’m the only one who seems to care!”
Fruit Stripe Gum!Others dyed their white stripes brilliant hues or painted their black stripes a riot of colors.
Iiiinteresting. Sounds like wearing a mask on Bacchanalia does draw you closer to the spirit world.“Only shamans should wear masks,” Aleta said primly.
Huh! I thought zonies were supposed to be sterile...“She’s Majina’s aunt. She’s a ‘sunstripe’ or some such. Apparently Princess Celestia was her great great great great grandmother or something.”
Again with the zebras and the "impossible". Maybe an ant can't meaningfully interact with a pony, but an anthill sure can. And Twilight Sparkle had a spell for turning gravity sideways, so I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss the idea of manipulating fundamental forces. Hell, if the Eye is everywhere, then maybe the blinding is a temporary, localized effect that can be controlled -- like, say, that thing that happened at the end of last chapter. If you can do that, you just need a big enough power source to extend the effect to the whole planet just long enough to wipe out all life.“It’s not possible. The Last Caesar was indeed mad, mad with power and hatred. Why else would he burn the world with balefire?” Errukine returned Pythia’s frown. “I assure you that whatever you have read, it cannot be so. It would be unthinkable.”
Heh, clever.“I am Maximillian, your servant of ceremonies.”
Oh, I dunno. A certain filly managed to make it work.“Such is the result when profit and charity collide.”
...okay, you have no idea how ponies work, do you.“I have the ability, but it would be like a pegasus giving a prayer to the sky at an earth pony ceremony.”
Well then. Guess it's all out in the open now.Dead silence. Then Scotch Tape heard a sound like rushing wind. Then a wave swept across the bridge from the east and the west, the gust not stirring a single hair or flame or bit of cloth, but everyone started as it passed over them. The waves met together at Scotch and fountained up around her with a strange shimmering of light that spread out. A sense of safety and belonging passed through her as she stood there in the center.
Welp. Time to go.Then Scotch saw the red bar.
She ducked, and the canvas of the stage indented as the bullet pierced it near where she stood.
Well... that's a thing. Does that imply that Celestia had some shamanistic powers, or was she just the guest speaker like Cecelio?I think that was the first pony opening a Bacchanalia since Princess Celestia herself!
Also, cough.
Cough!Princess Celestia was fond of Bacchanalia and attended several.
Oh, god. The way he presents that... his real name wouldn't happen to be some variation on "Peter Quill", would it?He drew himself up and pressed a claw to his chest. “Call me… Skylord.”
Oh god so cute...Scotch gave a half smile. “Well, you’re a good Froommate too,” she said with a playful nudge.
She strikes me less as "all the bad parts of Blackjack" and more as a close cousin to Rampage.“Tchernobog’s got me on a leash. Besides, don’t want to. Rice River is a nice place to live. Food. Work. Sex. I’ve been elsewhere. It gets worse. Lots worse.”
LOL. So awesome.“Stop planning to kill me,” Pythia said behind them, and Scotch looked down at the cloaked filly, then at Vicious.
But they're so much fun!“I hate seers,” Vicious muttered.
I feel a little sorry for Vicious, but she's also showing some codependence I don't like. As if Scotch were never going to grow up or pursue her own future.“You’re going to die out there,” Vicious said, pulling back. “You’re going to die, and I can’t kill hunger and thirst, and there’s no fun in juicing the ghoul or raider that’s dumb enough to eat you.” She slowly started to trot away. “Vega was right. I shouldn’t have cared,” she said as she departed. “Sleep somewhere else, Scotch.”
*sigh* Dick move, but I can't exactly blame her.“Wait. Are you saying you set that up to get me kicked out of where I was living? So I’d go with you?”
Pythia blinked and pushed the hoof aside. “Well, duh. Obviously.”
Oh, so THAT was one of Tchernobog's watchers...She hooked a hoof, and the rat let out a panicked squeal as it lifted off the ground and floated before her. “Starkatteri filth,” she declared, then brought her hooves together in a powerful blow. The rat popped like a balloon into cloud of white vapor that spread out and disappeared.
Oh... oh! She shushed the rat, and it obeyed the order!
So Peter Quill. In my head, he's totally played by Chris Pratt now.“You’re not taking her anywhere,” a voice growled from above. All eyes went up to where Skylord crouched atop the dumpling stall, a pistol clutched in each talon. “Get your hooves off the filly.”
“Who are you?” Desideria said, glaring up at him.
“I’m the one pointing a gun at your head, fatso,” the rusty brown griffon growled gruffly. “The name’s Skylord. Now let her go.”
Oh... oh shit. So for the duration, the festival is Scotch's sanctum.“This is Rice River. This is my place of power,” Desideria said, glaring at the pair.
“It is?” Errukine countered, as if surprised by this information. “As I recall, you did not invoke or invite the spirits to this festival. You are, technically, just as much a guest as we are.”
Tsunkatteri.“Yeah, well… that shaman annoyed me,” Pythia muttered.
*facepalm*From out of the crowd emerged Precious with a quartet of rice boxes held in a curl of her tail. She glanced over at the gathered people and asked brightly, “Hi, girls. Did I miss anything?”
...okay, Pythia, start talking now while you have the chance.
It's good to see another shaman who doesn't treat Starkatteri like they have the plague. All the while, Tchernobog and Errukine followed like a pair of parents, talking in low voices as the four enjoyed themselves.
I wonder... maybe being in her (temporary) place of power is enhancing Scotch's spirit senses?Worse, though, was the black ichor that seemed to drip like oil off their bodies and onto the stones.
...
The mare’s water-ruined mane and smeared makeup made her appear quite deranged as she approached Maximillian, trying to step carefully to avoid the sludge that pooled under the legionnaires.
...
Despite her efforts, the black ichor was smeared against her hide like her runny makeup.
...
A mare stood beside him, wearing a military uniform stained and spotted with the dark blotches.
...
The top hatch of the tank popped open, and a roiling black toxic fog poured out and spread across the plaza. From the interior emerged a zebra soaked black in the foul ichor.
I most emphatically do not hope that's Psalm. Then they hauled something from the back of the truck. Something large, purple, feathered, and bloody. His soldiers dragged out the body and threw it down before the crowd.
A slain purple alicorn.
That is, quite frankly, far better than the alternative. I don't trust Carnico any farther than I can throw their factory, but "can't trust" is a damn sight better than "likely to kill on sight".“Come with me,” Tchernobog stated. “You’re wanted at Carnico.”
...this was filler?Hopefully it doesn't feel like filler.
Oh. I guess so. I hadn't actually noticed. So, ah, no, it didn't. :D

Hee, very nice. And people should know by now: if there's ever a party, it's a prelude to something bad happening in somberworld.

I think that's kinda just fiction in general, really.

As psycho as Vicious is, at least you know where you stand with her. If she's got a problem with you, she'll smash your face, not snipe and undermine. She’d never truly understood her dad’s frustration with Blackjack until she moved in with Vicious.Still psycho, though. This is... uncomfortable, to say the least, though I admit not the most uncomfortable situation Scotch has ever been in.Hopefully she’d be too spent to try and ‘fool around’ with her for a few weeks after this.I'm not sure how useful masks are when you're color coded, but anyway.“Pick up a mask or something if you can,” Vicious yelled. “Trust me. Masks are a must!”This answers a question I had a couple chapters ago. Neat!Kirin daoOh, interesting. I wonder whether they're branded as Dashites or if they could slip away to Zebrinica without so much fanfare.Enclave dissidents who’d foolishly thought the zebra lands were safer than the Equestrian surface.I'll grant, if you've had something shot off, this beats several of the alternatives.
That tingling, sickly sensation rose as she reached one of the fire doors also kept propped open for ventilation.I swear, Somber, if that rat's name turns out to be Jenkin...She spotted a large brown rat shuffling into sight, emerging from under a wreck. It rose on its hind legs and sniffed as it blinked its oily eyes at her. There were voices inside, Xarius’s ghoulish croak the most notable. She lifted a hoof to her lips, making a shushing motion at the bold rat.Okay, weird skill then?!“I was just here for my pay for this week and I didn’t want to interrupt!” She gestured at her backside. “That was just… weird luck.”
“Luck,” Tchernobog said evenly, “would not have evaded my watchers.”Hmm. So she would know how to sabotage them, too...“Well, yeah,” she said slowly. “No horn, so I can’t make them, but I know standard service and maintenance. Things like adjusting the calipers and cleaning. Nothing big. Why?”
“Just good to know.”I love that Scotch thinks of rotgut as 'solvent'.He tugged out a chilled glass and a bottle of something that smelled like turpentine, filled the glass halfway up with Lucky Stripe and the solvent, and pushed the half-empty bottle of soda to her.I'm not sure I'd be proud of a diploma from the PIT.A degree from the Propoli Institute of Technology.
(I know, it's probably actually something more like "Instituto Propoli di Tecnologia".)Huh. Funny to think that the alicorns might be familiar with Scotch. And alicorns? Here? That was as crazy as wandering megaspells in Equestria.
...I'm not sure whether I want the purple to be Psalm or not...Oh, I like it.He reached into his drawer and pulled out a mask of polished metal. He apparently hadn’t been the only one, as the 127th, 138th, 179th, and 199th all had Celestia’s sunburst carefully carved to the left of the Caesar’s mark.Wow. It wasn’t so bad while we were moving, but since we stopped here it’s like everything is drowning and I’m the only one who seems to care!”Fruit Stripe Gum!Others dyed their white stripes brilliant hues or painted their black stripes a riot of colors.Iiiinteresting. Sounds like wearing a mask on Bacchanalia does draw you closer to the spirit world.“Only shamans should wear masks,” Aleta said primly.Huh! I thought zonies were supposed to be sterile...“She’s Majina’s aunt. She’s a ‘sunstripe’ or some such. Apparently Princess Celestia was her great great great great grandmother or something.”Again with the zebras and the "impossible". It would be unthinkable.”Heh, clever.“I am Maximillian, your servant of ceremonies.”Oh, I dunno. A certain filly managed to make it work.“Such is the result when profit and charity collide.”...okay, you have no idea how ponies work, do you.“I have the ability, but it would be like a pegasus giving a prayer to the sky at an earth pony ceremony.”Well then. A sense of safety and belonging passed through her as she stood there in the center.Welp. Time to go.Then Scotch saw the red bar.
She ducked, and the canvas of the stage indented as the bullet pierced it near where she stood.Well... that's a thing. Does that imply that Celestia had some shamanistic powers, or was she just the guest speaker like Cecelio?I think that was the first pony opening a Bacchanalia since Princess Celestia herself!
Also, cough.Cough!Princess Celestia was fond of Bacchanalia and attended several.Oh, god. The way he presents that... his real name wouldn't happen to be some variation on "Peter Quill", would it?He drew himself up and pressed a claw to his chest. “Call me… Skylord.”Oh god so cute...Scotch gave a half smile. “Well, you’re a good Froommate too,” she said with a playful nudge. She strikes me less as "all the bad parts of Blackjack" and more as a close cousin to Rampage.“Tchernobog’s got me on a leash. - Spoiler:
- PIT: Probably Latin rather than Italian, I'd think. Maybe "Institutum Technologiae Propoli[ae]".
- Also, this is a very embarrassing Google Translate error:

I could see it being an issue sometimes. Think of the fuss they made about using unicorn magic for winter wrap-up....okay, you have no idea how ponies work, do you.
I thought that sequence was pretty funny. But they're so much fun!
Oh, I think I just got what you were talking about. Never saw that movie. So Peter Quill. In my head, he's totally played by Chris Pratt now.
Pretty sure the timing means it can't be.I most emphatically do not hope that's Psalm.

Yeah, that's probably closer. Latin is all Greek to me.Icy Shake wrote:PIT: Probably Latin rather than Italian, I'd think. Maybe "Institutum Technologiae Propoli[ae]".
Oh, I'm sure "because magic" is the answer.Icy Shake wrote:Well, if they're not so much a zony as a ze-remnant-of-a-star-spirt-in-the-shape-of-an-ony, maybe an exception can be made.
Except that they do exactly that literally everywhere in Equestria except for Ponyville (and, perhaps, a few other earth-pony-centric villages.) It just indicates that Errukine talks a good game, but she really doesn't know ponykind any better than someone who visited Italy once knows how Italians think.Icy Shake wrote:I could see it being an issue sometimes. Huh. Funny to think that she's actually distantly related to Goldenblood, who did in fact put forth the effort to at least partially come to understand Zebra thinking.
What, becasue she's there when Blankjack wakes up? I know, I was just reacting to my previous hopes for this meeting.Icy Shake wrote:Pretty sure the timing means it can't be.
